"Expanding" Endgame Linkshells

Just out of idle curiousity (and I'm asking a serious tangential question here), what is the point of a points system where members are able to easily obtain over 50 points a week? If people can do that, that means you pretty much have to come to everything or you're getting blown out of the water. Like Jereme said, if 15 points is what "lower people" make, when will these people ever get anything when they are getting 3x fewer points than the "average" member. Only seeing a few pimped out Pers members is starting to make a lot more sense now.... "I bid 329874234 points on Ridill, muahahaha!"

No one has complained thus far, and we have far more "decked out" players than you seem to know of, as you only listed myself, deltoid, bjornar, meikolia, and chronicles, all of which btw have been in ESP since the start as well as Perseverance from the start. You didn't even list the person everyone jokingly refers to as the loot whore of the LS. Not everyone likes to pose at the Auction house like Chron and I do^^

I find it funny that if you lead linkshell and have good gear, you are assumed to have been given everything over everyone else.

In good shells, it doesn't matter who you are, you get gear you worked for and deserved. It has no dependence on if you are a leader or not. The reason you tend to see leaders have more gear than others because they have been in LS longer than others. Actually if you really take a look, it's usually a core of people that have the most gear, and it's usually the core that's been in LS the longest and/or started the shell. I don't find it greed at all for people who have been in ls longer and have done more for ls to have better gear than people that joined 2 month ago.

On the topic of dynamis, I don't think ultimatum is ever a good idea for dynamis. Than again, there is *nothing* wrong with giving points to ls members who attend the shell's dynamis. I mean hell it's just like another event, they DESERVE the points. Now if you let's say start taking away point from people who don't attend your particular dynamis, than yeah that's definitely a bad thing.

As far as I'm aware, Perse just gives points to members for attending, they don't punish those that don't attend. That's not an ultimatum, it's just the way they work. While yes points will add up, noone is really forcing you to be there. I see nothing wrong with that.

From personal perspective, you shouldn't leave your current dynamis that you have been going for a long time, for an extra 6points that you might win a piece of gear. Than again I do dynamis and endgame because of friends, not gear, so I don't find more points for gear worth breaking ties with an old dynamis shell.

Exactly however would you leave your End game linkshell for your dynamis linkshell because it forced u to make a choice and all of your Friends were in your dynamis linkshell?

QFT and since I bumped to the next page so soon.

reread jereme. He said if u get 32904023409 points u will always get the rid over someone like you

If I am showing up rarely and someone else is showing up all the time they deserve the gear over me. They put in the time. I have no complaints when someone gets gear over me.

Not to mention we do give points for attending dynamis but we don't take away points for not attending as Artem said. If you choose to lot on gear from dynamis while attending with Pers it does cost points.

If a shell forced me to leave another shell, I'd leave the shell that's forcing.

Some people arent that dedicated though, it would be a hard decision for me too if a linkshell made me choose between 2-3 years of hard work 4-5X per week. Know what i mean?

lol, I completely forgot about that. From the 17ish runs that I've made (missed 5) I've gotten 51 points and spent 30. 21 points in 11 weeks. I'm making out like a bandit.

I don't know what you're talking about... >.>

This is the minority opinion of ffxi players I've found and the reason I've taken myself out of "end-game" again for a while. I just wanna hang with friends. Gear that doesn't matter in my real life isn't worth the stress and backstabbing anymore.

As an aside Zoo, I know who you're talking about. :P I guess if your system works and no one complains then whatever, but I still feel like your shell shouldn't be making dynamis a points activity. I know people who left Encore because of it (won't name names, they know who they are), and I'm sure our shell wasn't the only one to lose members.

I look at it this way. If everyone in your shell actually wants to do dynamis and were wanting to leave their shell for yours, you wouldn't need to assign points because people would just come and thus everyone would get the points (barring rl issues, illness, whatever). I think you'd have more than enough of a core to have done this without having to provide "bonus incentive" for people to leave their dynamis shells to run with yours. Just my personal opinion.

I know exactly who left Encore to run with us. I will give you a clue Rappa the points wasn't the reason they left.

Well I know at least one case was that someone left because they'd already gotten a bunch of gear from us and didn't really need us anymore (was kinda funny since that person actually outlotted someone else on their last run when we knew she was leaving and then left the run early after lotting).

BTW, spending end-game points on common dynamis drops = lol. That's some expensive prime rib. Okay, carry on.

Taking out points you spent on drops isn't quite kosher though. You earned 51 points in 5 weeks doing Dynamis. You SPENT 30, yes, but you still earned 51 points. You could have chosen not to spend those points, and thus had them to spend elsewhere.

And for Jereme, assuming 25 points per week as a more dedicated (but not fanatical) member, 6 points/week remains roughly 25% of your total. That's STILL quite significant.

And I reiterate, I think it's a smart thing to do to combine all functions into one shell, assuming the shell can handle the strain. I also think it sucks for the shells that lose a lot of people because of the trend.

Now do you think its fair to screw over your members just because you want your relic weapon? I BET, not sure, but i bet your coins are going to upgrade your relic... AM i right rone?

When did I ever say I wanted my relic weapon? I said other people have voiced that they would like they're relics and AF's and would like to obtain them within our LS. I personally couldn't care if I get relic unlocked or not that's not what keeps me playing this game. I play because I've made some very good friends in game and playing with them keeps me entertained when I'm online period, and NO coins don't go to help any one person out. 1 coins are used to fund the entrance fees and 100 coins are lotted on by members. I personally don't even LIKE dynamis IF IT WAS SOLELY MY CHOICE you wouldn't see me in there but I don't play just for me I play for my friends and MY LS. The MAJORITY wanted to do dynamis together and the MAJORITY was tired of having a few people be late or miss our scheduled event due to other people doing dynamis with other shells.

You can't please everyone that's why we go by what the MAJORITY WANTS. Sure it's un fair to have members choose BUT ISN"T ALSO UNFAIR that we are missing members or are waiting for them when it's our time to do a scheduled event?

As far as WHEN I told my members about this; it was about two weeks ago that we had a meeting about this issue. As far as members disappearing over night that was not how I wanted them to leave a shell IF THEY DECIDED to leave. I told them to leave in the best possible way without ruining they're reputation so if it takes a month, two months, 3 months ir order for them to allow they're dynamis shells to find and train replacements and also work off what they've obtained I was all for it. IF you have a problem with members leaving overnight take it up with the person that left. In the 2 weeks that've we've been doing dynamis I have seen only 1 person that said they were already in another dynamis shell but did a run with us. So if there are more that left and are saying they're now doing dynamis with us that is not the case.

I should probably state that I see nothing wrong with internalizing end-game events. Element was going to try it before it went under (excluding dynamis because we felt that too many people in too many different shells already did this and internalizing it would cause problems for us and those other shells). I just don't like seeing shells straight up lying about doing it. You have to be living in denial if you think that there's a "choice" in this regard. If you'd just straight up say "We want our members in this shell and we'll do what we have to do to get them there, sorry but that's how it goes" vs "Oh, it's just an option, we aren't doing anything wrong" then whatever. It's the attitude I'm complaining about more than the concept.

It might seem significant but those 6 points that person is recieving they wouldn't be recieving normally. That is also 6 hours we probably won't have them doing other events with the LS as well. Now this person does dynamis with us recieves 6 points instead of no points for those 6 hours they spend doing dynamis. So while it seems like a significant amount that person would probably normally be only recieving 19 points a week instead.

When your members joined a dynamis shell prior to your shell, yes it is unfair to make them choose. I know a few of your members that left their dynamis shell because you threatened to break their linkshell. And again, its wrong to demand that people leave their other end game commitments, last i checked your linkshell was sky only. You had people sign up under the commitment that you were running sky. You never stated in your recruitment thread, "OH HAY GUYS WE ARE FORCING U TO DO DYNAMIS WITH US TOO."

Hail hitler anyone?

*EDIT* if these people are truly ur friends, why the hell you threaten to break their pearls. thats messed up.... Some friend you are

Well if that really is the truth, then there's at least one person who has lost my respect. Guess that just like her online bf's have bought her way to 75, she'll use whom ever to get further ahead.

Either way, i'm curious as to what incentive your members are offered by doing Dynamis with you? I might of missed that in an earlier post, but are they being given points or rather... what do they "lose" if they don't do Dynamis with you?

Lol edit your quote! >.>

None the less Limitles would never fund a relic for any member unless of course your name is Kisada or maybe even Nasya. LOL

Everyone who has relic in Limitless earned it by funding runs, no one gets anything for free.
