Fable 2 (Now Released)

Potions Potions Potions. I can't explain how great they are for leveling up fast.

You can buy the Xp potions from the walking vendors outside your large mansion... They sell the potions with 62,000 xp... And i maxed the lvls so fast from that exploit they are useless now... Again there is nothing, absolutley nothing to buy at the stores in this game.

The game was so fun yet such a terrible rpg...

The world was so tiny.

There is no point to gold.

There are like 10 outfits to chose from.

There is NO character relation, absolutley none.

The story is horrid...

Another game, hell another Fable that just does not live up to hype.

Now with all those negatives i can not deny i had a blast playing the game... The combat is fun. So... yeah.

Some of the food is great too. Filet Mignon pies are 2000 strength exp; just have to deal with being fat or chow down some celery.

Gee, I wonder why you'd think that.

Most RPG's you can't change your character model, period. I'm pretty sure there's more than 10 different outfits, I've found about 7 and I've only hit the first town.

If you were dumb enough to listen to any of the hype from the creators, then of course it's going to fall far short; their track record alone proves that. Cheating at the game negates any justification for bitching about mechanics that you circumvented.

The money glitch does nothing... You dont need the money at all... You get enough gold from items you have found through out the game to buy anything you need and at that point start your real estate buisness... But wtf for????? To buy health potions for eternity???

I payed for one weapon through the whole game. A 20,000 knife. That got me very far in the game, i dont want to say the exact area in case someone has not played yet. From that point on i just found weapons that are better then anything you can buy...

There are so many complaints i can give you about this game, you not wanting to hear me complain about money means nothing.

Largest point... There is a TERRIBLE story.

The characters you run into along the game are souless. As is your character. There is no connection AT ALL between you and the character you are playing. I could have actually been playing the whole game as one of the town guards and not known the difference from my character.

Limited supply of everything... 10 or so outfits... Yes there are 15 or so weapon types but no variation withing the actual weapon type... Rusty Katana looks just like Super duper Katana!! The only thing this game has enough of is hair styles.

The devs managed to keep one factor alive that stops the game from going into the "Worste games ever hyped" area. It is actually fun. Now fun is a very large part to how good a game is but i just cant look over how bad the game is everywhere else.

The game far surpassed what I thought it was going to be. My only real problem is lack of real boss fights. Even the Crucible was far easier then the Arena was in Fable. I think they dumbed the game down way too much this time.

I will definitely be buying Fable 3 if they come out with another. I am sure this one did well enough to warrant a third.

Did the original Fable lower your hope for the second game or something Jere? I did not even expect much from Fable 2, just reasonable expectations... Even with that, the game ended up faaaaaar below what i hoped for.

I really enjoyed the first Fable but it was so hyped and such a let down on the actual outcome of the game. The problem is this game is what should have been Fable. The first one was basically Fable .25%. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the first one but there really wasn't much to it.

I want them to make this game like they keep explaining it to be. It really should be 2 different stories. One for if you choose to be evil and one for good. In this one its even worse then the last one in that sense. You get 3 choices at the end. They really only had like 2 quests where you could be on the opposite side of the equation. Where as the first one had a few where you could take the quest from the bad guys or the good guys.

This game was hyped no where near as much as fable was, and it's better in every single aspect. I played the first one, I had better expectations for this one, and I wasn't dumb enough to listen to any of the hype; and I love the game.

The fact that you were unwilling/uninterested in buying anything doesn't mean there's no point to it. You say you leveled up fast because you bought the massive exp potions; well that takes money. The fact that you exploited in order to get ridiculous amounts does color your view of it's worth and usefulness. So far I've mainly spent my money on experience potions, some clothes and some weapons; I'm slowly buying real estate when I get the chance, but leaving the prices alone I'm only getting about 160 gold each time. Using the exploit lessens the overall effect of the game, it basically puts it on easy mode since you never have to worry about a lot of things.

The story is an a classic RPG story, pretty much the same as Fable 1 from as much as I've seen. It's not as long as most other RPG's, but it's the same basic premise behind the game.

Not liking your character, that's pretty much just a personal thing. I didn't have a problem with it, I'm used to RPG's where the main character never says anything.

There are many flaws in this game; the sheer amount of blockers is ridiculous for a released title; and there's graphical glitches galore. The developer must have had no QA team to speak of with the amount of shit that got through, but the overall mechanics are solid.

I enjoyed the game a lot. Its hella fun to play, i love the combat (my character is highly skilled with ranged weapons) and just have a blast blowing the heads off bandits or shooting them in the groin. The story is meh at best, but doesnt stop it from being fun.

Ok, I finished the game now and I kinda agree with what Osy says.
I mean AGAIN the story is too short. Do they ever learn?

Theres not enough clothing, theres not enough variations in weapons.
But..... its fun. I dont know why because it shouldnt be but its awesome.

I had a sex change from a man to woman then had sex with a female prostitute and she got pissed at me because I used to be a man.
Only in Fable 2 ladies and gents... only in fable 2

I'm fucking pissed. I got to bloodstone and started the hero of skill quest. Then I went and got the T.O.B.Y quest. Then on my way to do it I though "Hey lets pick up 3 hookers and get that achievement" so I did. Then I went to do the quest and idk if it was the hookers glitching out or something but I can't fucking select anything in bloodstone. When I goto vendors the A pops up above their head but they don't outline in green and I can't actually select them. I also can't view any Properties and its stuck saying "Buy furniture" or some shit on the top of my screen. I also can't warp out it says I have to finish the cutscene, but I can leave. And when I do and goto say Bowerstone I have no issues. But once i go back to bloodstone I get the same shit. So I'm basically suck their right now and its pissing me off. I also can't draw my weapons in bloodstone so I don't get what the fucking deal is.

Have you tried resetting your 360?

Hmm might wanna call Xbox support then, it may be a known issue to them now.

Yeah, there's a suprising number of blockers like that in there. I've read about another major bug, where you talk to the Abbott in Oakvale or whatever the second city is called. If you leave while he's still speaking, he'll go "wait, I wasn't finished" and then NEVER say anything again; preventing you from moving on in the game and forcing you to completely start over(reloading the save doesn't work).

Yeah, I think I left the hero of skill quest early because it keeps asking if i want to skip it (which doesn't work) making me think its still active, however the door to the room he is in is closed. And since I cant use my weapons I can't break in or anything like that, kinda whack.

Late post, I started a villain and was enjoying trashing towns and stuff lol but it got to a point where I couldn't do quests due to people being afraid of me and running. I am now running through as a Hero and am having quite a bit of fun, I'm earning gold slowly lol but I'm going to take what you guys did into account.

I'm also playing with my brother offline it makes it more fun that way ^^;

OHHHH MYYYY FUGGGGIN GODDDD!!!!

A+++++++++KKRRRRROOOOOONNNNNN!

So this game is basically like the Crisis Core of the 360? Overhyped and not what it could have been. A failure as an RPG but still fun to play for the actual combat?

Yes.
