I'm a little bit high, so bear with my train of thoughts.

I don't know about any other male internet users here... but I have a facebook.

I don't like facebook. I don't keep up to date pictures on it. I don't send out friend invites to people(except females I'd like to bang), and occasionally I'll " 'like' " something I think is funny or great or interesting. I don't look at other people's pages. In fact, I think it's creepy to look at people's photo albums unless I expect to be showing up in a picture. Even then, that's because it sends me a little message saying I'm on one.

I will however look through a few pictures of any female who sends me something if I don't remember what she looks like.

But yeah. I basically don't give a shit about the service. Nor do I feel any particular desire to be in 24/7 contact with any human being. I'm not anti-social, I'm just not that clingy. If I had a fiance or I was married, I would probably just delete my facebook and forget about it. It's just that it requires no effort... at all... even a little... to maintain.

While I have more male than female facebook friends, the only ones with any sort of reliable updates are the female friends. They are 95% of my news feed, and they're doing stupid shit, trying to make themselves look REALLY REALLY busy(when they're fucking on facebook 24/7) probably because they think that being on facebook 24/7 posting pictures of them at some party or on the beach or something makes them look ridiculously popular.

This leads me to believe that while perhaps there are more male the female facebook users... females use like 95% of the bandwidth, and there are 100 million guys out there right now... pretending to give a shit, hoping they're not on to all of us.
 
I agree on all points except one; I don't think you posted this in the correct section.

Well, if facebook was a playstation game, then yes it would go here.
Maybe posting in the 'Reality Bites' section would of been the best alternative.
I'm not trying to nag you on but next time think about where your thread belongs.

Anyway, I don't care for Facebook too much either but as of late I always have the tab open. Why? Because my friends constantly bitch and complain about not being able to get in contact with me because I rarely pick up my phone. And that's because I'm a guy and hate to be on the phone for hours and hours lol. A lot of them live on Facebook so I decided to get one. Since they don't believe in MSN, I told them I'll constantly be on Facebook so if they need to contact me I will be on there so there's no excuses.

It's like your the enemy if you don't have a facebook to stay in contact with.

I have a Facebook.
I use it mainly to stir up arguments with other people. It's funny, and it wastes time.

I use it, I enjoy it, and that's pretty much all that matters, ya pot smokin' hippie. It provides me with an easy way to keep my far-flung family informed of what's going on with me, and provides a bit of additional networking that's occasionally handy besides.

You are correct, however, in the assertion that a large percentage of fundamentally shallow males use it solely as a method of appealing to equally vapid females.
 
haha, this sounds like me except, i don't really care about half the females on my list anyway, just family.
I dont read invitations, i ignore half my friend requests, i dont use apps, i dont ever even click the like button. I occasionally post an update on what im doing, i dont leave it open long enough to get an Instant message, but sometimes someone messages me just before i click the X button to tab out. I like getting pictured people post from the parties i throw or anything else im involved in, but really dont look at photos much.
I used to be on myspace alot since it was more customizable, but myspace died awhile ago.
 
I don't think females are 95% of the bandwidth. I use facebook plenty and I have both male and female friends who use it tons. Though I will I know more females who are on it 24/7 than males and they tend to be the ones updating to an unnecessary extent.

i use FB quite a bit, i use it for what it was made to do, keep in touch with my family and friends. i used to be addicted to bejeweled but i've long lost interested in that. my only FB complaint is that effin farmville stole my GF!!!!!! >.<
 
I still don't use Face Book, barely touch my MySpace page, which I made well after MySpace was 'the thing' online. I just figured I'd make a MySpace one day because it might help me keep in touch with some people. Never used it that much, and now there's FaceBook, which everyone seems to be all over now. I'm not going to bother with FaceBook, what's the point? MySpace is the same exact friggen thing. So screw it. Eventually someone will make a new website that "surpasses" FB and then all that time you put into keeping your FB account up to date can be spent on this new site doing the exact same bullcrap. You guys have fun with that. Peace.
 
You make it sound like its hard to keep your facebook page "up to date". Hell I barely add or take anything away from my profile.
 
I enjoy facebook myself. It's a fun way to keep in touch with certain people to me. Though I am not one of those to add all those people from high school that I haven't talked to in like...7 years. (pains me to say 7 years btw)
 
I use facebook mainly for school (the people I don't really care about) for group projects and homework groups etc. I do have a tab open constantly incase one of my classmates needs me or vice verca. Funny thing... I orginially got on Facebook cause it had some fun games I wanted to try.
