Fair warning for party leaders...

Guy a good player wouldnt need the back up 75 whm to prove themselfs, they'd go at it alone and show everyone how little a subjob matters to them. If you think someone PL a stiff is a sign of a good player well I guess anyone who's done anything without a PL's aid pales in comparison.

And depending on that persons level at the time a healer with a sub may indeed be suffering, I myself seeked as rdm seen a potentual party forming but never got an invite, maybe they took a PL instead to speed up their exp gain. You see its not just this one event that bothers me its the fact that players are lazy and if they see anything that comes with the added feature of a high lv PL they go for that even if mages are seeking their level.

Have fun with your toon if you want to, but dont expect the world to bend over and cut you a deal because you can dual box a PL with your limited skills persona. I have several alternative characters I have leveled over the years in this game and each of them has a sub job. I take pride in what I do to anything I have.

I take pride in stuff like that too just like you do. I dont recall a time I ever leveled with a gimp sub and the only time I used a gimp sub was when I was still leveling /whm for Chi blast. I think after so many years of seeing the same level grinds once in a while people just get a wild idea and try to do somehting different, even if it is not practical. To be honest I would take any other healer / refresher type that has a sub job leveled first. Most all of us would. But if there is just someone like this, and it was a choice of no xp or xping with this guy and his PL, I think most of us would rather advance than continue looking for a group. At least they had fun in the party, even as unorthodox as it was.

As far as PLs go in general: I am mixed in my feelings towards them.. They are a double edged sword. One side we PL ourselves through crappy zones to get our umpteenth sub leveled and we want to do it quicker. The other side we don't teach people how to fend for themselves in a regular party settup at lower levels.

I have seen a PL in Bibiki Bay on Dhalmels though... SO i suppose it is not confined to just lower level PLing.

Once again if you weren't dual boxing your monk would have been engaged right away. This takes away from your performance on your monk not to forget you stop focus on bard to use TP, buffs, and gear swap while the bard is already bringing another pull to camp to maximize the party's efficiency on exp. There will be a time lapse in your pull which could easily mean you lose a chain or you die because you take your attention away from your bard for your monk.

No. Try it yourself and put it into practice and you will see that this really isnt the case once you get used to it. Two TVs side by side, two keyboards side by side. It takes little effort to make a macro that does gear changes + song casts and such. The particular two job combinations work for each other very well. As I said, I have had the 20kish merit parties while dual boxing. It gets extremely stressful, especially when I am chaining 20-30+ and the only thing I can think about is "dont mess up, dont mess up'. When doing the level grind I generally told my party that I was dual boxing and made sure it was ok. It was always the same response: As long as I pulled it off they had no problem with it. In a merit party I always asked and only did it if there were NO brds seeking. As I said, that fast paced it is extremely stressful and takes the fun away. But sometimes you do what you think you need to to get merits.

There is so much down time when leveling MNK. I don't know about any other melee classes though as MNK is my only one to 75. I solo'd most of my WSs so that also took a lot of coordination out of it.

Lol your last comment reminds me of one of my later partys 69/70 whm in the mire, we had a lv 75 whm show up and start PL us, nobody requested her she just came by. She probably had cure cast time merits also cause her cures were hitting my team faster than my own.

That night we had a fairly decent party going, I wasnt too thrilled with a PL being there because when I took on the role of a whm it was because I wanted to heal my party, not watch someone outside and higher do my job. I stayed because I had friends there that wanted me to level up with them I guess its a different perspective when you're trying to increase your healing skills. My party was overjoyed to have additional healing and really who can blame them. :)

In retrospect I dont mean to be this way, and I agree with you on the umpteenth sub leveled situation it just amazes me that once long ago we had whm's in a dunes party that could actually keep people alive without outside assitance.

Here's my 2 cents....Let's not forget that we are all playing a GAME. If trying to lvl to 75 w/o a subjob is fun for Lonelyt more power to him. If one wants a complete character in his party don't invite him. I think sometimes we as a group of players lose sight of the fact that we arent ever going to finish this game and rush to judge others and place xp on too high of a pedestal. Live and Let Live. If this is what he enjoys doing..fine by me and i personally don't think it is a good reason to flame him.

Quitting the game is no reason to stop posting here. Romper makes decent posts from time to time.

ITT, he's stuck in super asshole mode. Promting me to say...

You know from some one else this might irk me a little, but god damn you got me.

If you want a real challenge, level 1-75 without ever getting an exp party. Don't even have to waste anyone else's time but your own.

And to add about the subjob trick, you have to change your subjob to a job, then quickly switch your main to the same job before the job changes color in the box. Note, the job you change to has to be different from your current main and sub job when you start the trick.

pfft.... pathetic... you make it sounds like im da one inviting them to my party.. its them who asked me to party...

I'm sure someone HAS taken a job to level cap with out sub jubs before when people were new and didn't know how or where to get the support job quest. This is nothing new. This is absolutely stupid and this player should be banned for being so stupid. I'll throw a bone out there and say he bought that dual boxed character as well because no one was inviting him for not having a subjob.

bla bla bla... i dont believe that JP blm never got a SJ or anyone. and somewhere along the line where they'll get a subjob before they ever hit 75 EVEN if they dont know about subjobs at the begining. old farts like u needs to go to the park and feed the pigeons instead of talking all that crap about others. i go my way you go yours. like the others guy said.. dont ever invite me then if it bothers so much.. and if it irritates u so much.. why not just not play on this server then?

got too many to say to those no SJ haters... so i'll make it simple... i do my thing and you do yours. i dont ever ask you to join any of my parties, so quit talking all that crap about me being gimp. i play how i wanna play. im not like all you people that needs to follow others that requires to have a SJ. i got plenty of 75's with SJ i dont need any more. i take my time lvling on him. and all that crap about not getting into endgame bullshit.. as IF I EVEN CARE about endgame crap. this game is never ending... so there's no such thing as endgame to me. IF you all dont like what im doing.. then i suggest you move on to another server. no SJ is not consider gimp to me. talking about me cheating my way? if u really think about it.. SJ is cheat ALSO. since you're using xtra ability and all that crap u get with a SJ to HELP u get to 75.

If you played in 2004-2005, you probably remember Bono, the JP BLM that leveled 1-75 BLM solo and without a subjob

He had one, yes, as well as other 75's. he took his subjob off and did BLM that way solo.

Nice guy, wonder if he still plays

like u said... he HAD a SJ..... so he didnt lvl to 75 without a sub....

Stupid perhaps, but it's his right to be stupid (insert it's his $10-15 argument here) so long as he isn't hurting anyone or making anyone UNWILLINGLY deal with him or annoy them.

stupid? maybe to u.. then i think you lvling WITH a sub is stupid also IMO. therefore... i guess that makes u stupid too...

I would much rather wait for someone that isn't lazy needing a second character to do the role that someone with a subjob can do. I've said it once this guy's attention shifts from one character to another which means his Red Mage is lacking somewhere in performance. As having no power level means the party isn't relying on a safety net and your tank is well actually tanking making sure that they can do the job, damage dealers, and healers know their god damn roles. Fuck power leveling encourages bad player skill because you end up with healers that don't know how to heal, tanks that don't know how to tank, and damage dealers that don't know how to hold back so that no one dies.

Now to get back on the subject of subjobs being useful EVEN when gimped (under leveled). With an under leveled subjob still gives a small bump to your stats. Having more intellect for things like fire, blizzard, aero, stone, drain, aspir, blind, sleep, water, and well I hope you get the point makes your spells more potent. Where as with mind you gain a slight boost in how much your cures can cure for and the odds of your paralyze, dia, and slow spells stick. Not to forget lolholy and banish will deal more damage. Not much more damage, but more damage none the less. Not to forget with a lot of the subs you even gain a boost to your mana which either translates to more heals or nukes and the longer you can go with out resting. I'm not sure how scholar works but from my understanding some of the abilities in the grimoires could be quite useful in situational circumstances. Hell /scholar gives Regen II which I'm sure pleases some RDMs when on healing duties in a meripo.

ok first of all i can get a sj and lvl it whenever i want... i already have a 75rdm on my main character. it doesnt seem much fun and interesting to me if i have to do the exact same thing over again. therefore reason why im lvling it witout a SJ.
yes i do lose some benefits of a whm sub... thats why i have my other char to take care of those debuff problems. and for blm sub i dont see anything usefull other than ES and da extra mp.. i dont need that extra mp as im a taru. i already have more mp than most rdm/wSJ.
about pl's making more players that dont know how to play right... dont blame it on the PL cuz its all on the player.. if they're smart enough to learn.. they'll pick up how to do their job right. bad players are always gonna be there regardless if PL's exist or not. u're just like those other people always trying to find someone to blame.
my PL is to help me lower the downtime when i get in parties. i hate downtime. especially when there's people that dont know how to control their hate. and rdm's can main heal at lower lvl but gaurantee alot of downtime regardless how good they are. unless they got a full party of people that really knows what they doing.. which is hardly. im not gonna xp with 2-3k per hour... thats just wasting my time.
when u all talking about lack of performance, and putting focus on something else rather than doing your job in parties....... tell me this.... do u ever scratch ur nose or sneeze or doing somethign that put your focus off from xping? if u do.. then i guess you suck also.. cuz you didnt put your full focus on ur job...

In before Romper.

damn... six posts in a row... looks like he beat your record lec, lol
