Fallout 3

Currently broken for PC.

Booo-urns.

/gasp

I thought nofuckingbody knew boourns... ... ... I'm astonished you posted that! lol

Yea about FO3, I have a stagnant account and NEED the dlc... it know it's badass and I feel self pity right about now.

So far the new DLC is, by far, the best of the three. The new perks are pretty interesting:

Spoiler:
Never having to worry about Dogmeat dying, instantly put you on any path, increase all your S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats to 9 (effectively 10 if you have the bobbleheads). Just to name a few.

The story is pretty cool too. Always love Liberty Prime.

Yeah i agree this is the best of the three DLC additions. The first DLC still offers the best new items though.

Yet... SPARTAN LASER!!!

It's back up for purchase for PC, don't know if they actually fixed it, though.

If by best items you mean the Winterized T-51b armour, then I'd have to agree. However, the glowing sword it cool but useless, I've not found much use from the Gauss rifle, and I've got so many stealth boys I'm tripping over them, so not much use from the Chinese Stealth Suit (it is cool though). However, the Pitt for its flaws (an assault rifle with a scope? wtf?), has one gun that you NEED to get. The Metal Blaster. At first glance, 55 damage seems pretty good, but the damage is split up across all 9 beams. Not so fast. However, each of the 9 beams can critical attack for 27 dmg, each (or if you were smart, 40.5 with Better Criticals). Using the Better Criticals, a fully landed critical hit with will deal 55 + 40.5*9 = 419.5 dmg. Add in a sneak critical attack, which means you get: (55+40.5*9)*2 = 839 dmg. Which pretty much makes it a laser shotgun. That fires and reloads faster, has twice the ammo capacity and 1000hp vs 240hp from the normal combat shotgun (or 350hp from the Terrible Shotgun). It's made of win. Just never use it in V.A.T.S.

So the newest patch for PC turned Fallout 3 from relatively stable to a crash happy piece of shit apparently. Random and frequent crashes on fast travel, save, and entering different areas.

It's really sad that the community is left to fix Bethesda's bugs. They did it for Oblivion, and they've done it for Fallout 3 previous.

The winter armor is so good its broken. Mine never needs repair as i think it doesnt receive any dmg... Maybe my game is glitched though?

The Stealth Suit is by far the most cheating item in the game.. I play on Very Hard setting by the way.. And i can just duck and shoot enemies without alarming anyone.. My sneak is capped now though so maybe you feel different about the armor. I used to also until i tried it out after a friend recommended it.

The Gauss Rifle is just beastly. With the new enemy tiers in place after the Broken Steel update i NEED the gauss to keep them off their feet. I dont know of another weapon in the game that can knock a mutant overlord down with one shot. I am talking just knock downs, not kill.

Those are the only weapons/armor i even remember from the first DLC.

The Metal Blaster is my choice for the weaker enemies so i can just run through them.

Just wanna point out that the bobbleheads only take you to 10 if you get them AFTER the perk

The Winter armour has two sets: the one in the simulation, which, like everything else in there has an insane hp count to not appear to degrade. Instead of getting the wasteland version when you pick it up in the armoury, you get the simulation version. So, yes, broken. Totally not complaining. (The simulation version has ~10,000,000hp for the body and ~1,000,000hp for the head)
As for the knock-back effect of the Gauss Rifle (which I'll admit did not know it did that), an alternative is the Victory Rifle (I've toted its awesomeness in the past). It will do a knock over effect on a critical hit. And I've had sneak capped since...level 15 or something. I think I'll bring along the stealth suit when I do the Broken Steel main quests, as I love my sneak-attack head shots.

Just before posting this though, I looked in the fallout wiki, and the Gauss Rifle's knock back effect is much more powerful than the Victory Rifle's, but only outside of V.A.T.S., and seems to be significantly more buggy. I'll give it a whirl though, as it does do 2.5x more damage.

Cheers~

Why would you use VATS? The Gauss rifle has a serious damage reduction when using it thanks to bugs.

Gauss rifle also owns with companions. Give someone an Auto Axe and they'll chop up whatever you knockdown.

Rejoice, Sony fans. Fallout 3 DLC is coming to the Playstation 3 in June. Bethesda has also announced two more DLC packs.

Joystiq said:
"Point Lookout," as revealed by retailers earlier this month, will feature a massive swampland area to explore and in "Mothership Zeta" you'll suffer through an alien abduction. These packs will be available on Xbox 360 and PC starting late June and on PS3 once the first three have been released.

...

A GOTY version of Fallout 3 will be available in October for PS3, 360 and PC, which will include all five add-on packs.

Or probably mid July or possibly sometime around August or later.

That's assuming they work right when they are upped to xbl, too.

Yeah I know I have to go through the whole game again just to get the Enclave mission achievements.

Good thing I've held off buying Fallout 3, I knew that it'd have a GotY edition just like Oblivion had eventually.
