Fallout 3

My mistake then.

Easy one to make. It's a terrible game (from a multiplayer perspective, comparatively) and doesn't deserve to even be on the list, imo. Any Halo, or game they make like it, will be on the list until the next one comes out or they stop makin' them. Has nothin' to do with it bein' a good game. The CoD 4 still on there is a list of makin' a truly good game. You can't get rich playin' CoD 4 and the only thing Halo has goin' for it is people with a wish or the "be like Mike" syndrome. If there was people makin' money off Haze, enough to make a livin', it'd be the same way, despite its awfulness.

Strid this is your opinion. Proof is in the pudding. The games break sales records, the games breaks online match records, the games are as you said the focal point of MLG...

You think Halo 3 and other Halos are bad games and thats fine. I can just as easily bitch out CoD4, a game which i hate as much as you hate Halo... People hate Kobe, people hate A-rod, people hate Tom Brady, people at some point hate the person/thing thats on top... Its ok man. I will continue to respect your opinion and other who feel the same.

Fire i can understand you thinking Halo3 fell off the map as its not really talked about much anymore. What happened is CoD4 poped into the number 1 spot for a month or so only to drop back into second. Since the release of the 360, Halo 3 is still the most played online game this gen... This is not including pc games mind you.

Now on topic... This content had a cool feeling the whole way through and i am not exactly sure how to describe it. There even was a bit of challenge involved, i had not experienced challenge through out the entire game... I still have high hopes for the next content to be just as good if not better. I think its the Pittsburgh content?

It certainly gave me a challenge, as artificial as that challenge was. Taking away stimpacks and your weapons and replacing it with refilling centers, because as soon as I got the gauss rifle, it was game over for them. Still well worth the money though.

60 billion dung beetles can't be wrong! Dung is the food of choice on earth!

Jokes aside, just because a game is popular doesn't mean it's technically sound. Technical merit vs. fun basically.
Halo (any of them) is not a technically sound game. There's all kinds of bugs, lag is a constant issue (whether you count this or not depends on how you look at it), and the rating system, although decently advanced for what it is, is pretty much garbage. But it's fun. That's why people still play it. Also because it's easy to just jump in and play with others online. And it fills a niche market, being a futuristic FPS.
And you also have things like Skies of Arcadia, and Okami which are amazing games, but that didn't do well commercially. Thankfully they got second chances, but it still furthers my point.
Just because people play a game, doesn't mean it's good.

See this bullshit idea goes back and forth... Not refering to you as bullshit but this..

If everyone jumps off the bridge... Blah blah...

Your dung beetles idea... Blah blah...

Those are ways this argument benefit you.

Everyone has an ipod, an ipod is by far the best choice of portable music/movie player...

Thats one way it can lean in my direction... And i hate hate hate ipods.

Halo3 is a great multiplayer experience, less lag then any of the competition, more choices of game type then any of the competition, more custom options (including fanbased content)during multiplayer then the rest of the competition, better balance then the rest with a solid campaign to boot.. All on a console. I dont even play the game much anymore. I just dont jump to the next game and forget how much better previous games were.

Good games sell well and people go back and play good games. Regardless of how you feel. Enough on this please, i dont want to sit here and defend a game any further.

Makelith were the hell was the rifle during the mission?? I did not get it until i opened the room full of treasure. ;; Wish i had something to use it on now tho.

Halo 3 is pretty damn casual. This is why it's so high up on the list after so long. There are no gimmicks to set it apart from other FPS games like tactical cover and ultra realistic weapon mechanics. There is no proning to reduce your visibility or increase accuracy. It's just an oldschool arcade style FPS following in the footsteps of Quake(Pre-4) and Unreal Tournament. I grew up playing those types of FPS games, so Halo appeals to me.

Yes, the series is played largely by the lowest common denominator, because it was designed in a way that anyone can pick up the controller and play. That doesn't make it an inherently bad franchise though. "Just because people play a game" you don't like, doesn't mean it's a terrible game. Sure, people do play real shitty games though. Kane and Lynch for example, and pretty much any post Dreamcast Sonic game. Unleashed isn't bad, but it could've been a lot better if they skipped over the whole Werehedgehog idea that put in brawling aspects.

That said, a "Pro" Halo player is as much a laughable status as a "Pro" Chutes and Ladders player.

I think Halo 3 has an amazing campaign any FPS player should try out, but I never liked the versus, and I rarely hate on a shooter. I don't wanna stir the pot cause we've talked about this before, but I think the overzealousness of the fans makes it a target. It's aged horribly and looked out of date on release for example but it's sacralidge to call the fx under 10/10. It gets passes where other games get beat on for, like campaign length, ext. Every game after has to measure up to a myth, and has to be a Halo killer, and that just isn't fair. Like Killzone is supposed to match Halo's online modes with it's graphics, class system, ext.

Quite possibly the best thing I've learned in my life came when I grew out of high school. It is this; the most popular things aren't always the right, best, or smartest things to do. If you're tryin' to insist that those things make Halo 3 the best, you're lookin' in the wrong places to try and prove it to be the best. There are a lot of popular things in this world that aren't exactly good.

I also do not think CoD4 is the best. It's not any longer at least, needs lots of maintenance. However, the point I was tryin' to show is this; the game obviously doesn't need MLG fame and top sells to still be up there over a year after its release. The game has nothing goin' for it, yet it is still up there. The game is also an ABANDONED game, it is over and finished 100%, yet... it is still up there. More simpler, there is absolutely no incentives the playing CoD 4, nor have there ever been.

What is really the best? To be honest, it's all personal and opinion. Nothing will ever be the best to everyone. Best should be used like the "in my opinion" phrase, because that is all it really is. "Popularity" is a better word to call facts on.

ugh. can you stfu about halo 3? or make a halo 3 thread?

what does any of this have to do with fallout 3?

Last night I finished Moiras book. Hey I like the look of the book too, it's on display in my house in Megaton.

I also escorted my father and the Lab Techs from Rivet city to the memorial lab saw the inevitable happen then made it to the Citidel. I got the power armour training!!

Now.. I think I may work more on the Nuka Cola Quantum quest.

I hope I can, I'll just save right before I hand them over so I don't screw myself.

Not sure if you can steal them back but she has more then enough lying around her house to steal. Also, make sure to get her boyfriends gun in the Nuka cola factory.

speaking of guns, i just got the Miss Launcher lol. its such a funny and kinda useless rocket launcher.

I found one of the traveling vendors dead yesterday; evidently he had been ambushed just north of Vault 106 by the group of Raiders in the bed and breakfast.

Free Rock-it Launcher Schematics...DING!

only problem with that gun is the weight and also having to have big guns up quite a bit to really get any good use out of it.

Yeah, it seems like it'd be a novelty item only.

My top faves so far are the Sniper Rifle (picked off 2 of a 3-pack of Yao Guai from safe [Hidden] range last night with it), the Hunting Rifle, the Combat Shotgun, and the Frag Mines (i love it when Super Mutants follow me through a freshly-laid minefield).

I'd like to add that I taught Stine how to pick off Super Mutant Masters at range with a headshot from the Sniper Rifle :D
