That's completely a bad situation all around. Condolences to Kairi and assurances that another will come is about all that can be given. With the speed it appears that Northlands are dropping for this group (as evidenced by the NIN going to a new lotter), I dare say it shouldn't be too long (pardon the curse if it does).

In the time it takes to ask, swap partys, and get someone to find him I doubt this would have been a viable alternative here. Not to mention that the ongoing run that has to be reorganized / stopped, and this is rough with larger groups as they apparently have. The only other thing I can think of is the age-old "glass in bazaar when you enter" idea. However, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth personally as people can feel like its a threat the entire run, that the shell doesn't trust it's members, and unfortunately could be used against you in the case of major ass-hattery (I bought all the tanks and BLMs glass before they got me out! go douche powers). Of course, if it is probably just something to get used to and would ensure this kind of thing wouldn't happen. Also, would cover the event that if someone got trapped and could not be retrieved as time expired etc.

Either way, bad deal for Kairi and notes updated on the other fella.

How many coins does your LS lose in the last 3 minutes? It indeed does add up after multiple runs.

Dubious behavior aside, this rule is more to save coins and AF during situations where people are AFK or dead at the end of a run.

It's not a lack of trust, people who assume this fail to see the safety net of the rule. Never have leaders or members bought glasses outside of people being AFK or dead in the remaining moments.

If anything, it makes the shell more trustworthy with each other. I could have bought countless people's hourglass to obtain their gear and screw them over.
 
I know I said it elsewhere, but having been in a social linkshell with Ferque early in my career, I'm damn sure if he applied to any linkshell I'd already been a member of, I'd either kick and scream until he went unaccepted or leave. This guy is one of the lowest Quetz has to offer, and it's saddening that people will forget his name in a few months because he doesn't do multiple retarded acts in a short amount of time.
Run-on sentences are awesome.
 
On the topic of ninja lotting of items and it's pretty obvious that the person in question will not pass, simply order the remaining LS to lot as well. Sure 849 is a pretty high lot but depending on how many people present on the run, it's still relatively beatable. I'd rather see the piece go to someone who can't use it at all, then some sorry excuse for a person who just couldn't wait his rightful turn.

You're mentioning saving coins, as opposed to saving AF. I can see the bazaaring-glass-to-save-coins as a viable option, absolutely.

Saving AF, not-so-much. Trust is everything, and the fear of being dragged-out here, or being shunned from virtually every (non-scrub) linkshell on the server ought to be enough to pre-empt anyone from doing this kinda bullshit.

Heck, yesterday in Windurst we had WHM feet fall to a dead man, and we were able to get every single person to pass on the item just so it could go to him. There were people behind him in line for the gear, and as a matter of fact, one person ahead of him who joined WAY late so was excluded from lotting, and even he passed.

Now, WHM feet are nowhere near the caliber of a piece as RDM hat, but the actions would have still been just as dick.

Ferque's trash, and like Genkaku said, we can only hope he enjoys how his hat looks while sitting in his Mog House with his thumb up his ass.

Pretty cool to have organizational skills among a large group, like you just mentioned. However, this rule shines in the last 3 minutes when someone has lotted for their AF but dead people cannot pass.
 
Tristam I've seen countless SS's of where say a RDM hat has dropped with a minute left in the run. With the glass in bazaar method you can just buy all the glasses of people who went afk and might not be back in time to pass before the run ends. It can go horribly wrong but it can also save a rare dynamis piece.

I also get how it works when a piece drops in the last minute of a run, and have had to clear the shell out of an area before as well.
 
We have had one and only one unmentionable act as an outcome of this rule. It was very juvenile.

Queenandarial was accepted in for a run. This asshole traded a glass to his friend and let him in without any leader's consent. Queen's friend decided it'd be funny to train mobs on us and buy glasses on a whim. It ended our run by two hours. This happened over a year ago.

We don't know why he did it, he didn't obtain any AF or Coins, more than likely he was just being a shit disturber.
 
I don't know where Ferque was or I woulda bought his glass in bazaar ( I highly doubt he had it in bazaar anyways, since he afk'd for a long time)...

Some people knew he wasn't gonna pass, I didn't know what to think, but Ferque was starting to get on my nerves since long before this run... I honestly never liked him. He was like, always wanting special attention 'cause he wasn't a BLM but a SCH. He also liked to throw dirt and bother others that never did anything to him but told him to stop saying stuff like "I'm a SCH, I'm a SCH, don't generalize me with the rest of the mages."
One time is fine, even a little funny... but he kept saying the same old shit almost every run and it was getting annoying. @_@

And all he said, even if I wanted to believe, it sounds illogical. I mean, he wasn't lagging when he lot but he started lagging when he was told to pass? Come on. He wasn't near us...

Maybe he didn't like the idea of having a somewhat new member get "his" hat before him, "just" because he went afk for a long, long time. That's his fault for going afk while others did the work. Did he say something about needing to afk for like an hour? I don't recall him saying anything like that. Bleh, even if he did, what a coincidence he came back just a bit after the hat dropped. =\

You people need to read....he dropped party(you can't d2 someone not in your party, he was too far away for anyone to even reach him to attempt to or buy out his glass if it was in fact bazaar'd.

Something to add, he was in the offhand single of Darkbass, Chyros, and myself.

I noticed every now and then that I could target with tab about 30mins before this, I figured he was afk and I didn't give it much mind.

The hat drops and about 2mins later i see ferque leave the pt due to dc or him actually doing it, which was kinda funny since his lot was called a min from that time. At about 4 minutes he lots after Kairiboo.

We ask him to pass(this is a drop not screwing around with any rdm can vouch on that), and he gives the impression of himself about to pass.

Of course this was about a minute delay and we see the fucker with the damn hat. Then he's trying to smooth his bullshit over saying he was lagged and that he couldn't open the menu.

My ass you can cut the power off the computer or type /logout if you really cared, I don't know where he got his magical lag(read: probrably the fucking karma that runs along with him).


Too bad it got the hat too, sorry Kairiboo although it was pretty unexpected for it to be called to after Ferque afking so long, you deserved it more than him.

He also puts his tekko to shame with his gimp ass ninja.
 
I gotta ask... Was he /BLM for sleeping or /WHM for healing kiters (or /drk for DL)?

If the answer is /BLM, then every possible excuse is null and void. period.

And to be honest, they [excuses] probably are anyway.
 
he wasn't a kiter healer he was a nuker/buffer in the blm pt 90% of the time

the pt i had with me was rdm/whm sam/nin drg/w/e

he'd buff blms with storms and they'd nuke down storms any additional blms would be put into different pts.

what he was subbing i coudln't say for sure but maybe /rdm or /whm?

You're right, I see that now in OP's later post.

I remain neutral in this since I don't have any personal problems with Ferque, but it seems like something he would do in line with his attitude, so I don't believe it was an accident either.
 
name change can solve all problems

had some encounter with him, tho he was cool, but never done any serious event with him, just some campaign.

SE need to do something about server hopping, people ninja lot usually plan on server hop before they do that
