And fish bot doesn't give you an advantage over someone with enough spare time to legally fish.
The same rewards without any effort (even being there).

Fishbots allow your character to fish unattended, for days on end with the only attention required being emptying inventory every few hours or so.

Claimbots allow a character to teleport across a screen to a mob, as it spawns, and to specifically target that mob with an ability.

I'm sure there are ways to do these things legally, but I'm struggling to see them...

At least though, you're now admiting that you only accepted your Shell fleehacking tactics because you wanted to get gear from them. The "But they were my friends and I love them" routine was a bit lame...

-My character could legally fish from the day I started til the end of the server except for when I need fishing related maintenence. Note, my CHARACTER.

-Not all claim bots include teleport functions. Not talking about the ones that do.

Why even bother to talk about the reasons if you're simply going to argue both cases? I never said only wanting to get gear was my reasoning to stay. I also never said before that there was no gear I didn't want to get.

You made the following statements that I refuted:

"So.... your friends are still hacking to get you nice gear?"
-Pretty stupid considering I didn't join the shell most of them went to.

"Of course, you've personally benefitted hugely from hacking in the past, so I don't think it's surprising which side of the fence you're on."
-Never actually benefited.

Did I hope to get a few pieces of sea gear? Yes. Did I ever encourage anyone to hack for them. No. Any assumptions you want to make about why I stayed is your right to make, but don't make false statements, get shown wrong and then turn around and explain how you "were right all along."

The fact of the matter is, you're ignorant. You don't know me, you don't even know the basic facts of what my situation was(which is apparent by your false assumptions), so why try and evaluate my motivations? They were my friends, and it was my shell, and I did have a debt to pay, period. I also was one of the most active members farming sea and I also watched several torques be given to other members. But then again, I stayed in the shell several times after major membership loss, including one instance in which the shell broke up, was declared social, and I stayed in the social shell cause the members were my friends til by chance we slowly reformed and started doing activities again.

So go ahead, give me your attitude. You only really prove yourself as spiteful, and honestly considering you entered this argument against me saying things that were wrong, I couldn't care less about your opinion.

I don't really get what's so lame about "that routine", it's the truth for alot of people you know.

OMG TPARTY
seriously, lol, who the fuck cares

I agree, unfortunately it's not the reason he supported it, it was simple the reason he gave to make himself seem sympathetic to the people here. The real reason comes out later, where he stayed not because he agreed with the practice, but because he wanted gear. Greed.

I entered this arguement when you came in and started your prohacking propoganda. While you keep on claiming that hacking is an acceptable tactic in endgame activities, I'm going to keep giving my viewpoint that you're wrong. I actually care about playing this game, and an endgame on this server where you can only play by hacking is something I'm real happy to fight against.

Your Shell diminished to the point where the members had to fleehack to kill stuff. That's done and well and truely over with. You keep coming into these discussions claiming that it's a viable tactic, and that people should be allowed to hack if they want to. That's what I'm arguing against, and what I'll continue to argue against.

You're right, I don't, and frankly I don't care. You supported, and continue to support hacking as a viable tactic. I personally don't care why.

oh ok >_> thought you meant it more generally since I also mentioned something about friends earlier in the thread.

Windower does make hackers it just makes hackers lazyier lol its easy to set up a bot then go into full screen mode.
Second TParty is not unfair its something SE should of built into FFXI.
Resson SE did not do windowed POL be that PS2 has limited memory and useing a legal window will have to be on Ps2 as well (do not ask how you can alt tab out of it lol idk) would crash.

If you do not like windower go play WOW

Shouldn't it be "If you don't like no window mode, go play Wow"?

You're reading what you want to read, and you're attributing negative personal traits to me based on disagreeing with my sentimentality about 3rd party programs, which has not a thing to do with the assumptions YOU made.

I have no prohacking agenda. Never once have I said I think people should hack. Never have I encouraged someone to hack. Never have I hacked. All I said is I didn't care, and I don't have a moral problem with OTHERS who do it. This is a pretty basic concept but you seem to be unable to grasp it.

All I've said is why I think people hack, and why I don't judge people for hacking. As far as how I'd TREAT people who hack, the answer is, same as people who don't. I don't "allow" people to hack or "not allow" people to hack. I'm not a GM, and I have never called a GM on people for any reason LS member or not. When I apply to become a GM, get accepted and then decide not to nail people for hacking then you have a better case than now.

Funny how you contradict yourself on your own post. Fact is this isn't about hacking, it's about your dislike of me based of me holding a view you don't agree with. Your direct your personal attack towards me, not even the people who hacked, who followed them to the next LS, ect. All you're trying to do is come up with any possible negative traits you can attribute to me because by simply standing up and defending myself I have in your mind come to represent "hackers."

It is unfair. If I start casting thunderIV 1 seond before the tp report saying the SC is ready, I'll have to change my main nuke for the MB, or I may completely miss the SC depending on timing.

Now if I can see both sc people are about to reach 100% tp, I can adjust and use tierIII/II spells so I can easily make SC without being stuck casting or waiting on recast, someone on the ps2 could not do this. It's an advantage, although for some reason not frowned upon by the playerbase as much.

I'd like to emphasis one more point here.

Hacking in my opinion contributed towards the fall of OH as I attribute it to hurting our recruitment. As well hacking led to the permaban of a player I considered a friend. I don't support it as a tactic as I don't consider it a particulary intelligent long term strategy at least as far as this server is concerned. If someone was to ask me advice as if they should hack or not, I'd say don't - but nobody ever asked me if they should or not. If you want to ask me how I think we should TREAT people who do hack, alternatively, I would say unlike social outcasts as obviously you'd prefer.

Well, Blazn is right for once. You can see party members hp, and mp.. so why not TP? The same goes for Alliance members MP. You can see their HP, so what gives, why not MP?

I do agree, and I use tp-plugin myself, but I'm also fully aware I have an advantage over a ps2/xbox360/nonwindower player. It is a cheat in the sense of it, maybe a "minor" cheat, but still a cheat. To say "that's how it should be" is lying to yourself to justify it, fact is it isn't there without a 3rd party program.

FFXI needs to change the whole claiming thing.Make the game skill and learning based atleast =/ (I mean in the whole hnm camping thingy).

If SE can't figure out to the problem for themselfs, they should contracted it out. Archbell already has a workable program for pc. It should not be to hard to implament something similar to ps2 and xbox. (Honestly I think it SE way we dont want to send any money revising a old system.)
