Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

Well I think it's over 12000 is a 5 star. Generally it was that before I beat the game, not sure about after. Maybe it raises after.

Um lol

Its 13k for 5 star. I can guarantee this. I have tested this many times.

Arg I hate the final boss!! Insta-death is the gayest thing ever when he targets your party leader and if they die you lose -_- just shows how bad the "party leader death = you lose" aspect is. My only real hate about this game is that :P o well.

His insta-death never stuck on any of my characters o_O only thing I hated was that heavy damage move he had that left everyone at like 5% health, THANK YOU Combat Clinic XD

Yeah, don't do it by time. Even if you're under the time limit, you still may be taking way too long to kill things.

I thought that's what it did the first few times I tried when my characters weren't developed enough. When I came back with all primary roles maxed (prior to final crystarium expansion) it was leaving me with 70-80% health rather than 5% O.o

Puttin it in a spoiler cuz i dont wanna spoil it for others:

Spoiler:
Nah, the move I'm talkin about is AoE, its when Orphan comes out and swings itself down like a big sword, thats the move I'm talkin about. His insta-KO move is different.

My finding about the insta gib.

Spoiler:
He has no insta death move. It just brings you to like 1-5% (some very low number, im not sure of exact). The only reason it kills is if you're poisoned at the same time. I found that if you don't stagger him a second time he won't insta gib you.

Hmmm thats good to know, thanks!

I disagree, cause I had Lightning with about 9k health and the movie he did took her down to 0 and she had no poison on :P moot point now though cause I got lucky enough where it didn't go off and pwnd him.

Yup, that's the one

Finally landing death and getting the Growth Egg puts this game into a whole different ball game.

Finally making some progress developing my characters, I decided to accept one of the missions in the steppe from that circle of stones. When I did, titan kinda ... idk yawned or something and everything went dark. Is that permanent or do I just need to kill the mark?

I think he only makes what appears to be a dirtstorm and it only effects visuals in Steppe. Maybe mob placement? I havent seen anything unusual, but I may be wrong.

Question. Where's the best place to farm CP? I heard Ochu gave best & Behemoth King fighting Megasthorian(or w/e) in Steppe near Man'habra gave 2nd best. Tried both, but Ochu took too long to kill & Behemoth died in 1 turn for 13k CP. The 6 Cryohedron in Man'habra seems to give the best CP at 14k for a 1 turn fight and you can farm up Bomb Ashes/Bomb Core while doing so. I get so bored grinding same spot for a 120k node >. <

I believe this move does % dmg based on your max HP. Supposedly having Deshell on will get you killed even if you're at 100% HP & having poison doesn't help.

The bosses were jokes. 1st form took longer to kill then the rest lol

According to the info the game has on that boss it says "boss can inflict instant KO" :P you can't really defend against that entirely, sometimes it's just luck and I have bad luck. But ya, seems this game continued FFs tradition of "Final Bosses ultimately not too big a deal" XD

And I don't see the point in farming CP, I farm gil far more :P make some nice gil off the sacrifices and whatnot in Orphan's Cradle and that area right before it, edenhall or whatever.

I farmed all my CP in Eden fighting the Adamantoise. In the process I got 6 Trapezohedrons and lots n' lots of platinum ingots. It isn't much less boring than what you describe above, but the chance at some sweet items makes it worth it. You'll be needing both CP & money. CP for the final mission (IMO) and money for equipment upgrades.

Side note: Tried a shaolong gui last night after I beat the final mission. Got killed by an ultima when he was around 70% but I think I can take it down without having to farm more gil to upgrade my equipment even further ^^

I switch to SEN SEN SEN for ultima. The only thing that has a chance of ruining me with Shaolongs is a badly timed Bay.

How the hell you bringing the Adamantoises down? One stomp and Lightning is dead cuz they stomp for close to 10k HP >.<

You're supposed to switch paradigms for stomps. I generally got SEN MED MED for that. Also generally use fang with genji gloves to kill turtles. That or summon/death trick.

I used the summon/death trick. It made things a little longer than it had to be, but whatever. I also got stomped and insta-deathed once, but it was because I was literally stepped on, crushing over 20k HP
