Not till chapter 11, you have a couple more to go.

>.> you can generate you own team right after the rescue if I remember correctly

Woot! ! 10 minute Long Gui fight! Adamant Will Trophy mine! Now all I need is the acc/weapon trophy

Anyone else have trouble taking the last 10-15% of the Long Gui's its hp? everything was smooth sailing till it stuck Doom on me -. -

What is a good spot to grind CP. I really want to boost my characters up, I've never skipped a mob but ive never tried to grind out a place. I just beat Raines (Toughest fight Ive had)

Took me about 3-5 minutes. I'm guessing you didn't use the cheap strategy I used. What did you do?

Yeah he was a real bitch to kill. That tunnel that leads away from the ginormous field area (I wanna say cerobi steppe but think that's from something else like ffxi) has a lot of great exp (fast kills with easy respawns). If you take that turn to the left in that tunnel that leads of course and to the murderous robot, there's some excellent CP to be had there. Also, if you've developed vanielle as a saboteur, try the whole casting death over and over again on Adamantoise thing. You get 80,000 CP with growth egg (you don't have it yet) and 40,000 CP without it. The only downside it's a bit time consuming.

So, finally broke down and bought this game today. It's much, much more fun to play than I thought it would be as I watched it being played. I don't get the initial hate with the game though. I'm on Chapter 4, nearing the 6 hour mark and the game has been nothing short of wonderful, even the story. I could do with less hero talk, but hey, homeless people have big imaginations and that's okay.

Get comfortable with the hero talk, it doesn't end until roughly chapter 11.

Question about 5 staring the marks. I know you have to use weak ass weapons on the D C and B ranks but it's not working and I'm still getting 0/5 stars. Why is this? I checked around and couldn't find an answer. I just want to put this game away by this point but I'm pretty close to a platinum trophy.

Honestly what bothered me the most was the corniness of the lines the characters had. Sadly it never ended. Even right before you fight the final boss they're spewing crap that sounded cliche^3. If you want to know what all the hate is about, read this: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/

I was told the same exact thing when I had that trouble. I haven't tried it yet but apparently it wouldn't have been worth trying ... guess we're both screwed.

A great CP spot (fast too) is right by the Northern Archylte Steppe Cie'th stone, where the Behemoth and the other mob (dunno the name) are fighting. Its an automatic Pre-emptive strike and quick kill if you take out the Behemoth first before he rages.

I still think it's silly to farm for CP :P farm for gil. You'll be done with the CP long before you even are close to done with the gil.

I think I have a better/quicker way of killing adamatoises... actually I know I have, to bad I only discovered it right before I was done finishing all of my Crystariums. I did this in the Steppe since I didn't need to worry about farming TP.

I used the following team with the following three Paradigms.

Protection
Vanille: Medic
Fang: Sentinel
Hope: Synergist

Attrition
Vanille: Saboteur
Fang: Sentinel
Hope: Medic

Combat Clinic
Vanille: Medic
Fang: Sentinel
Hope: Medic

I started off in Protection and stayed in that until Hope got all 6 buffs up (Protect, shell, veil, haste, brave, faith). From there I switch to Attrition and just spam Death on the Adamatoise. With all the buffs it's attacks do very little damage and hope can keep you going forever. If it's taking to long and buffs wear I just switch back. Combat Clinic is there in case Hope gets stopped so Van can esuna, it's also there for if both hope and Van get slept and if that happens I just hope buffs keep me alive till one can act again.

At that point in the game it's much, much easier and quicker to just grind through Maw of the Abyss. You go from the start to the Jug (don't pop him) and then go to the Phalanx Box thingy and click retry (rinse) and repeat.

I still really didn't like the Death way compared to the summon/kill way. The minute I knew I could kill the turtles without death, I did. DW stuck with the Death way for a while longer and I got ahead of him in CP, money, and Traps. It takes me like 5 min per turtle including TP farming compared to the forever it can take for you to kill a turtle with Death and get nothing out of it.

Also, farming CP is really for pre-ultimate weapon farming. But as soon as you can kill turtles, you'll be doing both anyway. If you have Growth Egg then you get 80,000 CP a pop with a chance of 150k. But when I farmed CP, I used the spot Hexx mentioned. It was a great spot and became easier and easier the more you killed.

Ya I find the "Death trick" to be too cheap for my tastes and also I like the challenge of killing without :) plus it leaves me with TP incase I need it.

Is there any way to make one's characters move around the battlefield?

It's immensely frustrating when I can't get my damned characters to move away from the Sentinel. They just stand there and get clobbered by AoEs; it becomes a chain of raising, curing, dying, repeat.

If it were FFXI, I'd kick the dumb motherf***ers out of the party. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Unfortunately this is where the fun of battle ends. You can't move them around normally so you have to use the system to move them for you. Just send in your SEN as a COM while swappin' your other two to casters. When the SEN/COM gets away from the two, well, you can guess how to play it. There are other ways too, but they all revolve around this sort of thought so play with it some and find a way that works for you.

So, there is this save point in chapter 12 in Leviathan Pass just before you enter the Edenhall Foyer. Up to that point I'd been roamin' the streets of Eden wtfpwnin' big ass turtles, my boy Juggs, mechanized behemoths, you know, doin' what we do at that part of the game and holdin' no critter or soldier goon unaccountable for their trespasses. I get to the mentioned save point and I see another turtle just chillin' out beside it like, "no fite prz! my boys came to play but I'm just here touchin' my sac" but I'm like "well buddy you came to the wrong place if you was lookin' to take a load off" (no pun intended, seriously). I go over to greet the big fella and imagine my surprise when this bastard opens with a stomp that one shot my entire crew. Maybe it's just me but did anyone else find that entirely to amusing if you encountered it? I lawld my socks off because they couldn't have placed a better, "Haha u r teh fail 4 it engrish man!!11!!" Maybe I've just been up to long...

30 hours in and playing around in the first open area of the game :D! I am leveling up my peoples like mad and having a good time so far. I am on chapter 11 I think and am sneaking up on behemoth's and killing them :3 rawr

Haha you're a funny gun Strid. Yeah the same thing happened to me, and I also cracked up like "wtf!?" I know Airou also freaked out about it calling it "death by tremor" though idk if he found it as funny as we did.

@Reya: Holy crap 30 hours >.>; are you levelling up or something? I actually sped through there once I reached it and played around for a while (maybe 2 hours). Do some of the missions there if you haven't already, they can be pretty fun.
