Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

Anyone see the sales charts? :P went from like 1.5 million first week down to 180 thousand second. That is one HELL of a dip in sales after the first week O.O

Err that's how RPG's usually are.. most people who want it get it the first week, and especially for a game like FFXIII which people have been waiting for for a long while.
DQIX was 2.3 million its first week then 622k its second.
Monster Hunter Tri sold 561k its first week and 137k its second.
Not a lot of RPG's sell 1.5 million its first week.

Was thinking the same thing lol. Anyone who really wants the games gets in the first couple days it comes out. Then everyone who pretty much wants it bad enough has it so it's just the left over people who want it.

I know I have mine ordered and ready. Excited as hell all of a sudden for this game.

I've preordered it too

I'm waiting for a CE announcement before I pre-order it.
Hopefully they announce it on the 13th during their Lucky 13 campaign, if not I'll pre-order the standard edition and just transfer the funds over to a CE when they announce.

I guess :P I never checked sales of other RPGs, and I guess I was comparing it to FPS and other such games that had a steady decline instead of such a drop.

Pretty sure 1.5 million in one week is pretty damn good. The reason the second week is a lot lower is because most fans bought it on week one, so of course the following weeks would become normalized numbers. Many games don't sell 1.5 million in one week and end up having much smaller numbers every week but are still successful. Point being is that you're comparing numbers and that's no good.

What? No.
Halo 3 - Week 1: 2.8m; Week 2: 589k
Halo 3: ODST - Week 1: 1.6m; Week 2: 313k
Modern Warfare 2 - Week 1: 3.3m; Week 2: 587k
Quit saying words.

Where I preordered they call you if they find out there's a CE to see if people want to upgrade their preorder to CE's edition ^^;

Apparently, they removed so much from the game, it could make up another title entirely. Some areas of it including a zoo in an amusement park, Lightning's home, and Snow's "hero squad" Nora's secret base, fully included with missions in it.

I'm guessing it has to do with avoiding the Xbox version becoming 6 DVD's large.

They did say there would be plenty of DLC for FFXIII, let's home some of the deleted areas are included. Although it is unlikely, I suppose, as there would be like 60gb of dlc in that case. It would, however, be a huge chance for SE to make a lot of extra money. They did say they planned for the FFXIII series (including Versus and all others) to last for over a decade.

serious? O.o I mean I heard that the 360 version fucked it up more with removing content, but I still haven't found anything (not really looking either). Any proof you can link to? And if this is true, people wanna start admitting that the 360 version did cause a lack in quality for the PS3 version and that those who were mad about it coming to 360 are justified? (though I don't care it's for 360, hate that they took shit out if that's true).

I doubt all of it will, but some of it I'm sure will be a part of DLCs.

Yeah, I betting that Lightning's home and the Nora base will be available as DLC.

Less DLC, and more packaged with a Japan-only International edition.
Hurf durf.

Ugh, even if it is, I can never stand that the menus and such are in Japanese. I recently tried out FFXII IZJS through, uh... questionable means, and I found it bugged the everliving hell out of me that I couldn't read the spell names and license board.

Lol, I wonder why they cut it.. was it cut from JP version too? Was it a size limitation of 360? Was it because they were planning ahead to release it as DLC to give the game a longer lifespan? :P hmm
