Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

Just finished my 1st playthrough. I avoided this thread so far. This is one of the best FF's i've played. I don't have anything bad to say about it and an only laugh at people who swore this game would be a flop, lol.

I read someone call lightning a "female cloud", actually first person i thought of was Paine, the hair, attitude, & choise of weapon and all. Probably why i like her so much. But the ending CS was effin crazy, in a good way mind you. I'll be working on this game for a good while. Finally another FF i can just play to have fun again.

Indeed, a lot to do post-game.
Unlock the final crystarium stage from beating the final boss, finish up missions, work on upgrading to ultimate weapons, getting all trophies.
One of my top five favorite FF's now, love this game.

Agreed, amazing game, SE didn't let anyone down with this.

Thats a Juggernaut. When you first meet it you are in no shape to defeat it unless you been grinding like a mofo. By the time you make it back to eden you will be strong enough, which is good cause you'll be seeing alot more of those things.

ya but I 5 starred nearly every fight save but like 4-5 cause I was doing other stuff more than I shoulda :P

btw, anyone else think they fucked up the Chocobo Song a lot? And that the lyrics are stupid as hell and sound like they were made by Selphie like her stupid train song? >.>

And a lot of people were pretty sure the downward fail of FF was gonna continue :P some never liked the idea of FF to be online so they went "FFX and beyond has sucked, so it's gonna be shit." After the bad FFXII crap I figured it'd be meh too. Glad I was wrong though. Game over all is pretty damn awesome. Kinda wish there were a few more stats to play around with, but that's really, in the end, trivial. Game's fun and I'm glad I got it and was wrong about it being probably "meh" :P

I like the Chocobos of Cocoon song, though the Pulse Chocobo song is even better, I like that is has lyrics.
And speak for yourself, I had a blast playing XII, but I love XIII too.

Playing on slow doesn't adjust target time for slower battle.
Battles don't go as fast, you don't reach target time, usually won't reach 5 stars.
Normal speed is the best for 5 stars.

And I haven't used those auto-abilities since I got Paradigm Shift, and have 5 starred many enemies/bosses on normal speed.
I could've sworn it does. At least, when I did the second Mark in the tower (the Box Phoenix-like one), I slowed the battle down and still got five stars.

Emphasis added.
Unfortunately, those bastards at Nintendo decided to release the G/S remakes the Sunday after FFXIII, so I've been caught up in that for the past few days.

It pulled me away from FFXIII.

Nice.
I haven't played Pokemon since Red and Blue on the original Game Boy.
Maybe I'll hop back into it, the first DS titles a good start?

You people are weird, liking the lyrics, so dumb XD and FFXII for that matter. Oh well. whatever you like :P

FF12 is a great game lol, end game is so good for a single player game.

While FF12 is my least favorite of the 3d numbered FFs, I still enjoyed playing it a lot.

I have an issue with RPG's in general. I want to go elite in this game, but if I finish the boss and the story, I'm done. It's been like that for every FF for me since 10.

My cousin actually finished 10 before me and I was closer to the end. I saw the ending and then didn't have the urge to play anymore.

I'll make the effort this time, hopefully will want to go back and fight the harder bosses.

Honestly, it goes both ways. It's "so dumb" and "weird" that you don't like FFXII and don't like the lyrics in the chocobo song.
Just quit talking :|

I enjoyed FFXII myself. Story wasn't the best but the battle system was awesome. I put over 100 hours into that game and I haven't done that to a FF game since FF Tactics.

just finished 13, loved the ending, though im so used to the marathon CSs I guess i found it a little short, but even so, brought tears to my eyes.

I want to say more but i dont want to be a spoiler..... also... I cant believe how much time i put in, I didnt do much for farming CP just a race to the end, which translates to 25-30 hours of pure forward progress.... Definitely the most bang for buck ive had in an rpg in a long time..... now to start some endgame.

Oh and I love the unloackable themes, I finally have PS3 wallpaper i can live with lol

I'm the same way haha. I'm really hoping after I beat the storyline I'll keep the interest to still play. Especially considering you have to beat the last boss for some stuff to even be available. I just tend to feel like "whats the point?" when you finish the storyline. But, I loved the hunts in FFXII so it'll probably be easy to stick with this one to finish the Cieth missions.

Totally not related, but I hate King Behemoths right now. That thing they do where they stand up and get their health bar all the way back, get more difficult to stagger, and start casting Thundaga is a pain. I was fighting like 8 of those little imp things the other night and one of them managed to summon one...

yeah the trick I've found for any Behemoths really is to get a preemptive strike then "juggle" them until death... course that didn't help me at first when I wasn't powerful enough to defeat them in one juggle -.-
