Final Fantasy IV DS Official Thread:

I'm currently on my way to the Baron Castle to fight the water lord, I"m just leveling up a bit cause these monsters in the water canal hit pretty hard and fast.

My only complaint is that mobs do not drop like any gil, making it hard to afford anything (i currently have like 2k after spending 8k on an armor piece in Mysidia for Cecil)

Other than that this game rocks :)

Just hit the Tower of Babil for the first time, can't wait til I get Edge in a bit and looking forward to the Demon Wall at the Sealed Cave.

Some of these fights are a great deal more difficult than I remember them. Golbez gave me trouble, and so did that crazy doctor.

Now in the Sealed Cave there are like, things that spam 1000+ damage AoEs every turn.

Did Edge's Throw always do like 3k damage with a Shuriken? Been so long since I last played.

Yeah, you're probably remembering FF2us, which was a translation of the dumbed down version of FF4 in Japan.

This new FF4 isn't just based on the original, much harder version of the game... they took it and made it harder. :D

And yes, Edge's Throws are quite powerful, just... fairly expensive.

Actually the first one I played was the PSX re-release that came with the Chrono Trigger re-release. Final Fantasy Chronicles.

I'm not sure where that stands though.

Ugh, Demon Wall was a bitch and a half.

That would be the original Hardtype if I'm not mistaken, then.

Yeah, SNES version was easytype +1, easytype was specific to Japan and easier then the North American release. The PSX and GBA versions hardtype(though GBA version made easier imo with the ATB glitches in NA), and the DS version is hardtype +1.

And I'm looking forward to the Demon Wall, just finished part 2 of the Tower of Babil and the Sealed Cave is my next destination, I'ma do Sylph Cave and go to the Land of Summons first though, try and beat Ashura and Leviathan.

hehe ^^

I look forward to the eventual UK release =)

I seriously need a good challenge right around now.

Demon Wall was a disappointment... though it's nice Slow actually makes a difference on bosses in FFIV DS, hasting/berserking my 3 DDs and having Rydia with Leviathan made short work of him.

So yeah, I'm trying to go through "Lair of the Father" to fight Bahamut while I still have FuSoYa, these enemies here are a bitch, I'm loving it. Bosses I really haven't had much trouble with(love slow, silence and hold), but some random encounters are wowzah.

I'm at the Tower of Zot, I want to level up a bit first before I go though. I just want to rush through that part because I'd like to get a mage character back :( Tellah isn't cutting it with his 90 mp :p

Cagnazzo was a bitch, challanging fight but ugh his slowga's and sleepgas were pretty annoying.

I just got rydia, this is my on the way to school game. So I'll prolly be VERY far behind. . .

Yeah, that was fun, Behemoths just took forever to beat, though they hardly hit me with Blink. I missed the end of Raw since I had to go to hospital cause my nephew fell off the bed and cut his head open, so I had some time to play while waiting.

Bahamut was a sad sad joke though, even though reflecting Megaflare doesn't work in this version, he never even got one off in the first place. Behemoths put up more of a fight, ah well, tomorrow I can do the Giant of Babil.

Oh god, fucking hilarious.

I just got to the final dungeon, this place is long and difficult, though I'm just going to get all the chests and clear maps first, then farm rare items(pudding, tails, summons), then I'm going to beat it.

I don't get the Kim ****** part. It sounds like some japanese thing I wouldn't understand.

Also, will be picking up this game today. Maybe. Not sure.
