'Final Fantasy should come to Xbox 360', says Sakaguchi

So they sold a 360 to every person on the planet?

Fire implied that Sony is marketing PS3 to every single living person on the planet, so...

"If 60% of the 360's in the world failed, then that still means 2.5 billion are still working; see what I did there?"

If 6.5 billion Xbox's were sold. The problem is that the poll you showed had no qualifiers. The one I showed had the qualifier of "Xbox owners."

1500 is a decent enough to not have a 52% margin of error on its own. It's probably skewed upwards due to xbox owners who visit x-box websites being more likely to use their systems heavily. Casual users are less likely to brick their systems and less likely to compete in the poll.

Unfortunately I'm not a casual user therefore I'd be more likely.

A poll of 2000 people is actually fairly accurate, in terms of margin of error. The numbers can get skewed because it's conducted via xbox owners who visit that particular website not all xbox owners on the planet being asked. Until Microsoft is inclined to stop lying out of their fucking ass, I'm inclined to believe the poll of 2000 over absolutely nothing.

Margin of error notwithstanding, 1500 people is enough for the entertainment industry to calculate television ratings and in distribute billions of dollars. Until you stop focusing on the sample size, which is fine for our purpose, and focus on the fact that Microsoft should not be lying to potential customers about their failures rates, we're going to have little to discuss further.

Fire, note also that it's the people with a problem that are most likely to seek out or put the effort into answering the poll if it's totally voluntary.

Sorta like asking a sample of 2000 NYC residents if they suffered any losses on 9/11/2001. They wouldn't be a representative sample of the entire United States population, now, would they?

Yes that's a good point but it's just a question of who visits http://www.360-gamer.com/ .

The website itself seems to be very pro-microsoft so they're not a place for people who hate Xbox to go. The major slant we're going to get is it will be the type of xbox 360 players who go online to read news and reviews, which means they will probably use their xbox 360 more often than an average owner and it will be more likely to break.

He still hasn't responded to why if the poll is as accurate as he's assuming, or even close to it; that EVERYONE but him completely missed this massive failure rate. There'd be news coverage, maybe even lawsuits brought to bear on Microsoft, but instead there's nothing. So either this is the greatest cover up in history or the idea that the 360 has anything close to a 60% failure rate is retarded.

It's like arguing with peregrine with how he's completely avoiding logic, except he's not talking about his job or dynamis in every post.

Now ask yourself what percentage of the people that view that site actually voted?

And do you think someone with no problems with their 360 will likely even bother looking around the site for polls?

You're trying to calculate polls on the idea that everyone on the planet owns a Xbox 360 and calling my logic faulty.
So the logic that if 90% of the people in the poll don't want a PS3, then that means that 10% of the world must have bought one is sound?

I'd call your logic faulty if you were showing any at all, but I can't even do that.

No, you claimed that 90% of the planet Doesn't want a PS3, to which he replied "Well, then there's still 650,000,000 potential customers."

It was in reply to your baseless and rediculous statement.

No, Bajaratt didn't say "planet" anywhere in that post. Just 90% of the people who took that poll.

Firestreak was the one who brought in basing it off global population.

10,000,000+ 360s sold, and you are basing a 60% fail rate off some site that polled 2000 peaople? eh? i have never been to that site, maybe ill ask my friends with systems that never failed if they have been there also;;

Exactly, Firestreak is the one who first applied these poll results to the entire world; I said that in a sardonic reply to his idiotic statement.

I used the "world logic" to show that your poll doesn't really say anything. A poll saying that 90% of the people asked doesn't have any value because there were NO QUALIFERS.

There were no qualifiers. Not even, "Would you ever consider buying a gaming console at all?"

So therefore the poll only says that 90% of the world will not buy a PS3, that still does, logically leave 100s of millions that will, by the poll's design, because it wasn't efficient.

My poll, on the other hand, was of failed Xboxes vs. Xbox owners. If you don't own an Xbox you're disqualified from the poll, so its answers have actual meaning.

Of course I've said this before, and you continue to show your stupidity as a response, which is boring me...

Both polls are complete failures, because they're internet polls. Something anyone can join in. Yes, Fire. Your poll had nothing restricting unnecessary votes, such as spiteful Playstation fandom. Something people can easily ignore as well. The only way to figure out a result close to the truth is to just go to several stores. Find people browsing the 360 titles and ask them. Put them on the spot.

Bajaratt, you fail. Tagrineth, you've got a good point. People with a failed Xbox are probably more likely to vote than people without because people without have no bone to pick.

Yet again, if Microsoft just released honest numbers it would be nice.

No, his poll required an Xbox gamertag to vote in, thus the voters owned an Xbox
