'Final Fantasy should come to Xbox 360', says Sakaguchi

It's not as if MS Germany knows shit. Sony is a segmented company, their own president didn't even know about the laptop battery fiasco until he heard about it on the news. The Japanese business model is to try and solve your problems on your own rather than reporting bad news.

Honestly I doubt Sony France knows a tiny bit of what Sony in Japan knows, their only purpose is to distribute region specific hardware and software to France, they don't run anything high up in the company.

Really doesn't matter to me if FF goes multiplatform, I'm gettin a 360 and PS3 for titles that won't show up on the other.

On the PS3 side, God of War 3(you know it's coming), White Knight Story, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Drake's Fortune(new Naughty Dog title), the future title from Fumito Ueda(behind Ico/Shadow of the Colossus), Lair, Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2(I enjoyed the first one, so sue me), Ninja Gaiden Sigma(not sure if this one will be ported), and Resistance 2(just titles already announced or hinted at, hopin for Suikoden VI to be announced as well)

On the 360 side there's Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Cry On(another Mistwalker title) Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, and Project Sylpheed. Mind you these are just games announced for the most part so far, there will undoubtedly be more in the future.

Multiplatform games I'd get are DMC4, RE5, GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Unreal Tournament 3, and Mercenaries 2, not sure if I'd get for PS3 or 360 yet, depends if Sony releases a rumble compatible Sixxaxis(Immersion and Sony did make up, so who knows). The current one feels too light to me.

If MGS4 and FFXIII are made multiplatform I'd get for whichever system I'd want to play them on.
And if they don't become multiplatforms then they'd just become 2 more reasons for me to get a PS3.

Only console I'm not lookin at immediately is the Wii, I would only buy it for the next Zelda title, Dragon Quest Swords doesn't interest me that much, and the Nintendo DS has pretty much fit my RPG front with upcoming titles from SE and Nintendo.

You're right. How can we argue. One of Sony's top henchmen is definatly out, specifically, to get you, and only you, so he decided to make up this blasphemous statement to make you crenge even more. I get it now.

Also, are you sure Sony in Japan knows anything? I mean, they've cost Sony a lot ever since the PS3 was released. Seems to me like they don't even know how to run a business over there.
 
Explain to me what Sony France has to do with FF13 until it's time to build a French localization? I doubt they know anything more than me and you know... which is that it's built by a 3rd party company and therefore not his place to announce it an exclusive, it's Square's place... and they have never said they were planning on porting it to Xbox 360, and they said they use the cell processor's architecture to run it.(if that means white engine is cell specific or not, beats me)

But yeah, I'm delusional because I don't admit a port is likely based on... nothing?

In fact if you're so confident that FF13 is getting ported, maybe you'd like to make a bet on it. Stakes are quite simple, if we get confirmation that no 13 for the box, you have to go out and buy a PS3. Shouldn't be a problem because they're going to announce a 360 port any day now right? When they do, I'll declare PS3 is doomed and go buy a 360.
 
Except that the most expensive stuff in PS3 is all centered around the blu-ray. The Cell chip itself wasn't that pricey.

They're also starting at a $200+ loss per system.

They'll cut the price, for sure, but don't count on a HUEG reduction.

If you ran a company, would you not know what is going on in your important investors? If you answer no, you need to go back to class. Your business will fail and not only fail, it will horribly fail. The guy who made that statement would not have made it if it wasn't true, end of story. That statement is too bad for business for them to go and make it up. Now, it may not port, I never said 100% it would nor after playing x-2-12 do I give a shit if it does, either way... I wont be wasting a second on it. I just know a lot of the gung ho Sony fans are relying on that and MGS 4 as their last real, good, reasons to owning a PS3.

I'm not 100% it will get ported, never said I was, though, quite sure. I'm simply here telling you that there is a chance and have been from the get-go. Now, there is proof I was right from the beginning where I was getting laughed at for even suggesting. whether or not you believe that, it doesn't matter. Facts prove your side, wrong. Whether or not it really happens, I could care less. If FF XIII gets ported, it's another game I don't care about on the Xbox 360 and more I can laugh at how the PS3 is going under. If FF XIII doesn't get ported and is PS3 only, saying I take the bet, I still own a $600 paper weight. It's loose, loose for me. I don't care if you don't own a 360 because you're so gung-ho Sony, that's your loss. Hell, to be honest, if it wasn't for UT3 and Lost Planet, I wouldn't own a 360 probably. I spend most of my time playing Warcraft on PC anyways.

Sony France isn't the head of Sony. Sony Worldwide isn't even the head of Sony... Sony JAPAN is the head of Sony. It's a giant, inefficient segmented company that's oriented towards Japan. Do you know why GTA4 isn't coming out as a PS3 exclusive or at least timed exclusive? If you did, you might understand how segmented Sony is. Sony is ran from Japan and the other branches deal with local developers and deal with distribution but ultimately it all bottlenecks up to Japan. Information goes only one way, up. The only people who know what's going on in backdoor discussions is one segment, Sony Japan. Sony has a 10% stake in Squaresoft, and as such they know what they're doing. What they don't do is control Squaresoft. What they don't do is slap on an "ONLY ON PLAYSTATION!!!!" label on every fucking game out there regardless of if it's true or not. If you recall, some of those "ONLY ON XBOX!!!!!1!11!" labels have found there way over onto Playstation.

What proof? There's no proof. There's about as much proof for FFXiii porting to Xbox as your Lost Planet porting over to PS3. Third party company publishing their own game with no legal reasons they couldn't port. Both companies saying they won't port. The only different is one console has a bigger userbase than the other. If that's proof for speculation then you had that all along.

Luckily, Squaresoft doesn't need to worry about install base rather install base will come to them.

GTA4 was announced to be multiplatform before the PS3 ever launched. It's not exclusive because they tried to call Sony to negotiate an exclusivity deal and had to deal with Sony-USA. Sony-USA had to talk to Crazy Ken in Japan since you can't do ANYTHING without going through Sony Japan. Crazy Ken waited too long to seal the deal and Microsoft negotiated a multiplatform deal.

Sony Japan is Sony. All other branches of Sony have essentially no power.

It's relevant that Xbox declares third party games that could easily port of to be exclusives and Sony doesn't mark anything as an exclusive. If you want to ask if a third party game is exclusive to PS3, ask the publisher. It's better than declaring everything is an exclusive and lying to everyone... then again, maybe lying is better business sense.

It means that there's no legal reason that it can't be ported... yet. For the record, they've been making a 360 port of DMC4 since the start according to Capcom.

I think it's disgusting to tell worried consumers that your machine has a 3-5 failure rate when you know it's not true. But I guess they have the biggest install base now, that's all that matters right? Unless your install base is padded by half of them being replacements.
