Wow. I think if I decide to play this, I will spend most of my time in the beginning just exploring, lol. And yeah, I think I leaning towards living in the forest.

rpggamer interview said:
racial differences are not as major in FFXIV, however the difference of gender is important, likely due to equipment playing a major role in job classes.

I can see it now:

"Party seeks White mage: Men need not apply"

Yeah, so I'm sorry I started this line of conversation, but I think gender differences in a video game are ridiculous.

This is virtually FFXI-2 lol. Maybe thats not a bad thing, but the zone pretty much look the same, just better graphics.

Looks like I might try it though, I just SE would make the world seem more livelier, because every zone outside the main nations are nothing but wilderness. Would be nice to see home settlements, farms, factories, just other things in the world outside of grass, hills, and small tree's, and small ruins.

Their options include:
Frying Pan
Vaccum Cleaner
Duster

I think you're asking to get beat by the ladies of QCDN with one of three aforementioned objects =P

Hmm that would suck if they make the female characters weaker, in the end we would have people playing only male characters

Words cannot describe how happy I am with these screens and the info that is surfacing =)

Edit: Actually, one word can... NERDGASM!!!!

More like nostalgic. Those all seem like remodeled zones from FFXI with HD graphics. Of course that wouldn't stop me from playing the game.

But then, cant you say that about most realistic looking MMOs? I mean, you can only have so many variations of plains, deserts, caves, etc etc no?

Pretty much.

I suppose they could make every zone some bizarre never-before-seen weirdness... But then you'd have someone complaining about how it looks like a remodeled HD version of Al'Taieu.

The bit about gender differences strikes me as a mite odd, but the majority of the quote is speculation anyway. For all we know, it'll turn out that female characters have something along the lines of a slightly different array of weaponskills, and that a balance of genders will be necessary for the best possible party configuration.

But, like the quote, all speculation.

LOL or people will complain that it looks like WoW?? But yeah, pure speculation at this point, altho I stand by hoping that female characters arent weaker in any way shape or form. I like the fact that in FFXI a female DD can stand toe-to-toe with a male DD =P

Wow, those are some pretty screens actually. I'm kind of surprised by the level of realism. Looking at some of those grassy plains and such it almost looks like a real place.

Hmm, I might be more open to playing the beta now just to at least see how the game looks when played.

So are you guys going to enjoy the term "PS3 limitations" when it's coined by the devs in 3 years?

Most definitely.

I could be wrong, but since the PS3 hasn't exactly gotten anywhere near its full potential it shouldn't be limiting in 3 years. This is SE we're talking about though so its possible they'd still use it as an excuse.

Why so serious?
