Final Fantasy XIV

Jumping has up sides and down sides, I will acknowledge, but I must confess to being a fan of it. Like the Limecat said, it makes movement a hell of a lot more convenient.

As for the issue of people just running around and jumping constantly, it's really not particularly different from people standing around and dancing constantly, and we've all seen that. Hell, most of us have probably done that.

LOL guilty

Yeah, jumping it would have its conveniences I guess, just dunno if im ready to see jumping in an FF game XD

Hi.

I'd rather not. I never really liked jumping in MMOs, I'd rather the developers not put Jumping like that in. Besides, Dragoons already jump.
Myrrh covered my reasons very nicely. Being able to jump would solve a lot of problems with the crappy map design(understandable give their size, though) that's pretty common in MMO's. Now, running up the stairs in Ordelle's Caves won't be a pain in the ass, or you can make a three inch drop and survive. It's not going to ruin the game to have the mobility of a first grader.

Except now that small rock becomes a large, higher-than-you-can-jump rock.

We dont talk about that game >.> its as if it didnt exist <.<

I wouldn't if it didn't have one of the more fun job/battle systems. Minus the dress up part.

Ahh you do have a point there /sigh. Skimpy outfits FTW?

I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't have a problem not being able to pass over a 4' high barrier, I do, however, have a problem being blocked by something I could step over as part of my normal walking motion.

FUCK

I thought I was over MMOs.......god damnit now im all excited for this :( good bye free time.

When is expected release? mid 010?

No specific quarter listed yet, but I'd be frankly surprised if it's out too long before Xmas.

And yea, I'm rather looking forward to this one.

Im thinking third quarter of 2010, thats what a lot of people have been saying.

Will you be taking video, Sharpe?

*sigh*

I might be back for this... lol

And fuck, if there is a dragoon class, you know what I will be playing.

Wonder what the PC specs are going to be... My PC *should* be enough but I am affraid. ><

Dual core ,4 gigs ram 512 meg video... it better not exceed that or I am going to cry.

Dual core(they're very cheap if you haven't upgraded in 5 years) is likely, 4 gigs of RAM definitely won't be(most people's OS can't handle that much and you'll never need that much anyways), and I doubt you'll need a graphics card that powerful just to be able to run the game.

Requirements just to play won't be that steep. Requirements to play with the best graphics(what they're showing in the trailers) probably will be higher, but a $600 system could handle it easily.

3 yrs ><

most MMO's don't require hardcore computers, as they want to reach as large an audience as possible. Hence they usually allow to play with horrible graphics ala FFXI on PS2, and great graphics for those hardcore gamers that do have killer computers.

Not really lazy, the game was designed for the PS2, which even when this game first came out, wasn't nearly as powerful as computers were.
