I've got no interest in arguing.

I attacked you for not thinking things through and acting purely on emotion rather then using common sense. I, as well as others, have presented better solutions that could have been done had you not acted so hastily.

I call bullshit. You seem very very interested in arguing. As you stated, you hate Kisada and that is why you are being destructively crititcal. I accuse you of acting purely on emotion rather than logic. You're just reaching for nonsense (i.e. Kisada did it at a bad time during the week) and throwing inconsistent arguements around because you're emotionally involved. You find one sound arguement and you latch on to it, such as saying that Kisada should have done this in a different way. Quit talking about a different way and do it.

Common sense? Are you serious? Common sense would dictate that PoL would have an alternate course of action for compromised accounts... common sense would dictate that people aren't going to spam a legitimate petition... common sense would have allowed us to avoid this situation altogether. Five bucks says you're sitting there going: "Is this nut for real? Making an online petition and not expecting spam?" I think what you take as common sense (i.e. this example, FireFox > IE, or kick ass PC security) are not so common. This is very much "acquired" sense. You have to be experienced in the computer field to know these things. Maybe for some this is common sense, but not for a college chemistry major. Get over yourself.

The main problem with the site being used is that there's really no check for signers. Anyone who is bored can turn themself into 100 people pretty easily. Just go to ffxiah, put random names down, random real names occasionally, mix up the servers, and boom. You might say "Well I'm sure they IP log everyone who signs". Maybe they do. That would matter if there weren't hundreds of anonymizers to surf the net with giving you a new IP every time. "Well, you have to have an email address". Considering they don't even seem to validate you in the first place, you might even be able to use "[email protected]" since they can be private. Even if they do attempt to validate, I have hundreds of trash email sites in my account signup blocks on my site. I'm going to bet that petitiononline has 0. Maybe 20 or so of the most popular. Probably 0 though.

That's why most companies don't take these petitions seriously. I hope it helps, but only time will tell. In the meantime I'd encourage people to continue pestering S-E in every way imaginable and not just say "Whelp, signed the petition so I'm good to go".
You asshole, it took so long before i could sign up, I only had hotmail at the time.

981 Signatures. :rtfm: Needs more since the FFXI community has over 3,000 players on Quetzy alone...

It's doing well considering it aint been up ll that long.

Petition broke 1000 =D Still needs more though ^_^;

I wonder where else we could bring the message...

I brought it to the Livejournal community and they didn't seem too supportive of the idea.

I'm 1046 ^^ just signed

Number 1053 is an invalid signature. And this looks very nice so far.. though I'm still preferring the option of a paper petition over an electronic one. Any chances at a printable version being available to have signed then sent into somewhere?

Yeah, if you have a printable version and an address, Kisada, I'd send one via mail as well.
