For every RDM out there, that CANT use Refresh!! [M]

Well, as you get higher, the level difference between the player and the mob to get the same exp(lets say 100) also becomes higher like a curve..

Unfortunantly, HP and MP growth are pretty linear, it's a staggering line that sees a huge increase 51-60, but then a severely decreased growth 61 and above.

So Regen and Refresh become extremely useful when keeping the experience ball rolling.
 
I always find posts like this amusing in that EVErYONE seems to know how to play redmage better than the redmage in your party. This is one of the reasons i hate the job, and the funny thing is EVERYONE who gives advice is automatically deemed your superior and you must follow everything they say or they will flame you.

I"m not really directing this at the original poster but the post topic in general.......

What the hell? If you're doing Freeze every fight you don't deserve Rrefresh cause you're just pissing the MP away anyway.

I kept saying "Normal SC, Normal SC" I would end every fight at about 120-140MP .... out 721!!!! And I would get refresh when I needed it? When is that? When I'm at 7? Blech!!!! Some people need to learn their jobs, period!
 
I agree with darkdante... these threads piss me off.. do you realize our Enfeebling might not always stick? I have 283 Enfeebling and I am resisted with even Dispel by the undead.. so I have to recast it a lot.. and I hate being asked for refresh and this and that when I am in the middle of dispelling the ice spikes which are causing paralyze effect on the melees... I know you need refresh and will get to it as soon as dispel is cast and I get the mob silenced (so they don't recast). And I am sick of being asked to haste all the melees as well when there is a WHM in the party... seriously.. you have mp to use.. and aren't doing anything... HASTE THE MELEES!!!! TANK INCLUDED!!!! These kinds of threads need to go away or I'm gonna start posting about bad BLMs bad WHMs bad tanks... etc...
 
I read the thread twice, and just reread, and I was given the clear impression that you used freeze every fight. Now, perhaps the party had asked you to do it, but as a 50+ BLM you should just tell them to shut the hell up and let you do your job. Ancient Magic, always has and always will be the BLM's call and no one elses. Even if it was MP efficient it would be the BLM's call if they want to have such a huge frickin hate spike.

In that respect you are right Fire, but as the party saw, yes all 5 of them, I am a bad BLM if I DO NOT Freeze MB with the Meles. Infact the WHM told me that a BLM is bad if he can't AM MB with the meles. I explained to her that all I do is cast the spell, its up to the meles not to fuck it up, but thats another story.

With Freeze I was doing about 1.2k constantly, but with Blizzard II i did about 390s with no food, and 412-417 with food. That is why I pushed for NORMAL SC, due to the lack of Refresh being tossed my way.

This thread isnt about all RDM, its about the BAD players calling themselfs good RDMs and then not knowing their role in a party.
 
Maybe the topic should be about the players who wanted to freeze MB all the time than about the redmage?

Why is it the Red mages fault that your party wanted to burn all that mp? Just because you, or your party wants to blast away dosent mean its someone elses fault when you run out of mp.

I'm not saying he was a good rdm or wasn't but the situation you explain sounds like its more than the redmage could fix anyway.
 
I just read this thread for the first time. I am wondering if you guy even read the thread at all! The OP is not cracking on you personally, they are not saying that ALL Rdm suck, or that you personally suck. They are saying that these two particular Rdms suck. Based solely off of the OP statements, if the one rdm didn't refresh or enfeeble and only used his MP to enhance himself, then that Rdm sucked. period. He was a wasted party slot. They would have been better off with another blm, brd, mnk, ANYTHING.

It wasnt about that at all. You were the first one to reply to it and you turned it into a purely Rdm discussion. THIS IS THE GOD DAMNED FLAMEBOARD!! This is where people vent about bad party experiences! EVERY job has been talked about here.

This whole experiance has made me realize to level RDM. I got 9 levels last night, and I'm not gonna stop now.

I will show all the crappy RDM out what a refresh cycle is and how to play in a party. A very good friend of mine, 65RDM told me that he Never meles, he never casts En- spells on himself, and he certainly does now weild and shield and sword in a party. He pretty much told me that its his job to help others out, not to hit for 22 damage once every 5 hits.

For all the idiots that dont get the whole AM bursts still, re-read for the 5th time, and note that the party kept calling for it, and I was being called a bad Black Mage, not that I am bad, or think I am bad, but for the sake of keeping the party together, I did their will. When you have been stuck at level 54 for 2 weeks, you just do what you have to do. :?

As I said yesterday when I saw ya lil buddy, you've got spunk and I luv that Falsey. You show 'em and you go lil puppy (I said you go big dog to him, but he corrected me to lil puppy, well ... nevermind, I'm sure y'all get it) 8) .
 
Just get used to it, there are a ton of rdm out there, one of the most populated classes, and only about 5% of them are any good. I love amusing myself by examining other rdm in pt's next to us. So many rdm have horrible gear. I saw one with a str and vit ring the other day, a saber + 1, and a decurion's sheild. We had 2 rdm in pt once, and since I don't like main healing as rdm he was, and the pld was talking about wanting spirits withing. I'm like "Yeah, I can't wait for it either tho I'm no where close to it" The other rdm says "LOL, you still don't have it? Damn man, my sword skill is already capped at this level" :roll:

Point is, you just got to hope when you invite a rdm it's one of the peeps who know what they are doing. Rdm has no limiting factors, people want it mostly for refresh, which is cheap as hell. And any idiot can cast it (apparantly some can't). This makes it easy for ANYONE to be a rdm, and still get invites up the wazoo. Not like a pld with horrible armor, or a ranger with out to date gear, or a whm who has to dish out a good amount of money for needed pt spells and who needs to know how to heal.

Though I do get annoyed when people see me as I walk up to the pt sporting my sword and sheild, and I see the leader sigh and say "I hope you're not planning on meleeing Sanjo." Soooo tempted to just put up enblizzard and act like the noob from hell. Would I walk around in my pimp suit sporting an ugly ass wand or staff across my back... um no. That's for pt when it's all about xp.
 
There really is a simple solution to this, Don't put yourself in these type of situations, don't give that shitty rdm (or w/e job) a chance to gain more lvl's and pollute us any further. No matter what job I lvl, If I find someone to be egotistical, arrogant, or anything like that, I break off and go do my own thing, until I get the pt with a REAL leader, and some pretty mature/decent players.

The thing that kills me though, is people who ask for refresh, and there to damn lazy to look down at the pt menu and see your MP is being refreshed. I could name a few examples of these people on here, but for the sake of the arguement I won't. Sometimes I get bitched at, cursed out etc.. Then eventually I get an apology lol.

All in all, if you see someone in your party who will eventually be the cause of slow exp, or being just a hassle. Simply put up or shut up, meaning make your own damn party with who you want in it, or don't fucking party, its that simple.

Are you really this fucking stupid? Lemme explain and recap the entire thread for ya Forrest. Falsey recanted a story about trouble with a stupid Rdm, ele says that the topic of what a Rdm should do is basically overdiscussed. I defended Falsey's right to be allowed to vent.

You and I are on the same page, you are just too stupid to know it.
