The only thing I don't care much for are people who tell me they're homosexual then act as though I'm going to attack them. Shouldn't automatically assume someone will have a problem with a sexual orientation. You know, the whole "Don't hate me because I'm gay!" That will give you nothing but a really confused look on my face.

For starters, I'm proud to be an American. I am proud that you, Urat, are allowed to have the opinons that you do even if I do not agree with them completely. But, I can relate to some of what you have said, but not all of it. There are times where I would say that Black History Month and various Black Pride propaganda continues to fuel racism. It doesnt bother me that they have marches, a month devoted to their triumphs and tribulations.

I don't agree with you when you say it's okay to celebrate race but not sexuality, as it's an obvious bias in our lifetime as well as past lifetimes dating back to biblical days. Equal rights is equal rights and is not limited to Race, religon, and whatever other things things you have deemed to be okay and above equal sexual orientation.

While there are still gays beaten to death or near death in the streets over being gay there wil still be a need for a Gay Pride Week. While people continue to feel they need to stay in a closet over being gay, there will need to be a Gay Pride Week. I could go on..

I would love to hear about factual information regarding children being molested in the streets of a gay parade. I will admit a lot of things that goes on during those celebration may not be suitable for children, however I dare say that a lot of things that go on in this world in the straight communities is not suitable for children. i.e. taking your kid to hooters? (but it's considered a family restraunt). But, that has more to do with being a parent and not an issue of sexuality. If you're in an area with your child that displays a man in chaps, than you need to question why you are still there or at least take the time to instill your values into your child and explain what it is that's going on.

There are parades for -everything- live with it. I absolutely love sci-fi trek parades!, but I won't deny that it can be annoying when their is a funeral processsion going on and traphic is stopped to parade a dead body while you're running late. The dead guy has nothing but time at that point, but obviously the family considers it absolutely nessessary and deserves to give tribute to the life of their loved one and/or friend. Lobbiest come in many forms.

In America February, shortest month of the year (I think there's something behind that), is Black History Month. I totally agree that there really should be more refrelction and homage to Jewish History, although I admit that we did study Hitler and read that one diary (that I have forgotten the name of) in school. The concentration camps honestly remind me most of the hate crimes against those who are gay. Part of the reason I doubt we have it celebrated nationally is due to it not occuring in America where as slavery was. Not to mention the obvious Christian reign of power in legislation.

And zero proof? Try reading sometime please Most scientific organizations believe that homosexuality is not a choice, that biology plays some role. The National Mental Health Association says, “Most researchers believe sexual orientation is complex, and that biology plays an important role This means that many people are born with their sexual orientation, or that it’s established at an early age".

Also homosexuality has existed all throughout history and is present in birds and mammals, as well as humans.

This is going to sound really odd.

Every few years there is a Haulocaust movie brought out by Hollywood. Nearly every single city that has a large population of people that practice Judaism have a Haulocaust museum. We actually have one in my area and I urge every person I know to go see because its a beautiful monument to surviving by faith, trust and love in the most dire of situations.

There is more hate-mongering in this nation against the GLBT community anymore than there is about religion. While in one aspect thats a great thing, in the other aspect thats fucking horrible.

I kind of understand what Urat is trying to say with the "holidays should celebrate events". I assume the pride parades are a celebration of ALL the events that helped the advancement of gay people's rights. Just because the event did not actually happen during the week of celebration doesn't make it invalid to celebrate. The few gay people I've met has led me to this assertion: the average gay person is smarter than the average pussy-driven male and the average bimbo video-taping herself sucking some dude's dick only to be released all over the world and shame her family. This also means they, gay people as an entire group, are generally more efficient [/stereotype]. Instead of (referencing christianity here) 15-20 absolutely random fucking days to celebrate events that might or might not have happened to celebrate a god that might or might not exist, they group everything they celebrate into one week. Those 15-20 days a year are more of an interruption to my life than gay people marching down the street with fairy wings and rainbow antennae at the same time having copius amounts of buttsex and blowjobs while marching [/stereotype#2].

In reference to myrrh's post: I agree being black is a choice. Does anyone honestly think people like Richard Pryor would be considered even somewhat funny if they chose to be white? No. For someone like him, this was a business decision on his part, and he obviously made the right one.

I recall you are around 16 years old right? I can't believe you are judging things that you probably do not comprehend. Grow up a bit, see the country and its many diversity, see the world, understand history before you post a flame like this. A rant against gays trying to celebrate their beliefs and wanting a week of celebration is just plain ignorant. Do you even know why they are doing this? You claim you have to good friends that are gay but does not fit your "flamboyant" gays. Did you know this gay pride parade are for them as well?

That argument on abortion goes 2 ways.
100% of people for abortion were never aborted themselves.
 
I'm not stoking any flames on that but using abortion as an example was a really bad example.
 
I just want to add that I prefer going to gay bars more then straight bars. They are cleaner, nicer, friendlier, and I have the possibility for people buying me drinks.
