Well my grandmother just gave me an old OLD beer stien and it has a bit of German text on it. Saddly I know nothing of the German language other then this is the only way I want to hear the song 99 Luft Ballons. If anyone can let me know what this says I would be thankful.

The top reads:
"Wer Ruhig Will Ins Wirtshaus Gahn"

And the bottom reads:
"Des Hauses Schlussel Muss Bei Sigh Han"

I was also able to get another one that has 2 little phrases on it that say:

"Die grune Heid" and "Des Jagers Freud"

Again any help would be great.

Either it's some dialect, or there are letters missing.
Anyway, to continue the above sentance:
"... must bring his house-key."

Or, to make more sense of it:

"Don't go drinking unless you bring the keys to your house, for no one would want to let you back in once you are drunk!"

The green meadow is the hunters delight.

Or just listen to Ramms+ein for a couple of years and learn the entire language.

YOU
YOU HATE
YOU HATE ME

See how good they are?

It's actually a play on words. The actual lyrics are

Du
Du hast
Du hast mich
Du hast gefragt und ich hab' nein gesagt

hast translates to 'did', though there is the German hasst (or haßt (depreciated)), which translates to 'hate'

The pronounciation for 'hast' and 'hasst' is interchangable, which means only the context determines the meaning of the spoken word, which is why the song works as most assume the singer is talking about someone hating him, when in reality he is talking about his girl asking him to marry him (yeah, the girl asked, they are German, what can you say?), and he said no. Of course the suspense is only killing you the first time around.

OMG :O

Vorwaerts Immer, Rueckwaerts Nimmer!
... wenn dir was was sagt, lol.

You know, the more i look at it, I think it IS "Sich Han". The way that the stien was made, i must have mistaken the "C" for a "G". All the lettering is in capitols, so its easy to mistake the 2.

</huh?!> Are you talking about me? lol j/k

Haßt also means love.
