they wouldn't get moved if people kept it at least semi respectful.. but once people start disagreeing then arguments tend to go south.

Skaws post defiantly deserved a warning, but not a ban. Which is why it seemed pretty convenient that it only happened after he called Arc out.
Then I suppose my point would be, from my perspective he was flamebaiting, and just because he was voicing the opinions of himself and a few of his peers, doesn't make him right. It was also my understanding that he was necessarily banned for just this specific post of his, but it was his proverbial "nail in the coffin", reguardless of how convenient it looked to you and me. But maybe you know better than I on this fact, and if not, Skaw and the mods certainly do.
because using capitalization on forums is a requirement.![]()
any decent thread ends up on the flameboard... look at the threads in qcdn history with the largest post count and let me know where they are situated at.
And again, I really have to ask you, why don't you just put Hellstorm on ignore if his posts make your head hurt? (I know you were elaborating)

This argument could go on forever, if this thread wasn't moved, none of this conversation would be going on.
Amirite?
This is a good point, and I do agree after examining both the situation and events that followed that Skaw was indeed out of line. MY point however is that it shouldn't have really gotten to that situation. The thread should've been moved prior to that.
No, he's really given me a headache a few times. He does also bring me to the floor with laughter occasionally, and Its fun to have conversations with my friends about how stupid he is sometimes.
there was arguing before it got moved and was in good times, so no.
Quote it. Other than the two people saying they don't understand the whole issue and that people should just chill out.
Well, for how strict I was to finally get that board to stop being so full of flamebaits, those two posts alone would be enough in my mind. And had I done that, it would have been a consistent action in the moderation of the Good Times board.
If Hellstorm, or anyone else for that matter, keeps putting the same argument forward again, and again, even after people have already shut the whole idea down, isn't that kind of flamebaiting?
Like if someone makes a topic in General Discussion complaining about LFP times. This post, regardless of where it may actually be (FB, Good Times, General Discussion) will induce flames. Isn't that what flamebaiting (trolling, etc.) is?
My point is that it's nearly entirely subjective. Which is why there's this big back and forth argument. Perhaps for warnings, I don't think anyway terribly cares so much, but if you're going to base some sort of further disciplinary action, go at it by a case by case basis. IE, what makes "STFU hellstorm" flamebait, but posting in a thread about TV shows that "tv sucks books are better, everything is ripped off of books" is somehow not? Or posting "WoW sucks!" in the WoW board, or "Xbox kills babies" (which had a tenuous link at best) in the Xbox board.
Perhaps if Hellstorm would actually spell words properly, organize ideas, and use paragraphs, maybe I'd actually agree that it was flamebaiting. Or at least relative to some of the other examples cited. Like posting in a TV thread that TV sucks and books are infinitely better. This post is going to generate flames. Should those flames be punished? There's a bit of grey area there between victim of constant flaming, and provoker of constant flames.
That is a hard argument to sell, but very logically induced. At best an argument for trolling, but when real ideas, as repetitive as they are, can be classified as flamebaiting... no thanks.
