Handling Misconduct (Jan. 22)

People are getting banned for Nyzul duping too, and I haven't heard anyone complaining about Nyzul drop rates.

Didn't see it mentioned, but I read the thread several hours ago..

Did they say if they're removing the duped items off the players that are just suspended or do they get to keep them?

Sandworm dupes to fund all those bodies too, I guess?

Lol, but with all these relics I think upgrading a Body is a joke for them.

.

@ Euph, noone knows since people are either perma-banned or temp-banned for 3-10 days. we'll know soon anyway.

Idc really about those being removed or not ; what annoys me is that a huge amount of alexandrites suddenly vanished. The supply is not great already.

Take it from me as an ex-wopaco leader, he didn't do anything for gil outside of the LS and everyone pretty much got the same share for time put in. I don't see how he gets 5 relics and most long standing active members don't even have one. Whatever he says he sells stuff on BG for, he willfully exaggerates it.

Oh, so he probably has a high paying job or something like that

ahahahah oh man, had to come back for this; I don't even play FFXI anymore (sold my shit) and this still pleases me greatly. I remember wopa talking about how awesome the dupage was, and I'm like "hey, man, not too smart, probably going to get yourself banned in the end." If he's perma'd, I'm a goddamned prophet.

I made an account to post this on here to clear up some misconceptions about the bannings that are flying around everywhere.

My name is Japes - been on ffxi for 3 years (all spent on Carby)I have never bought gil, used 3rd party tools or cheated in any way whatsoever. I have never even had someone call a GM on me. About 1.5 months before the "glitch" was patched in the emerg. maintenance, I found out about the trick people were using in salvage. I brought it to the leader boards of my salvage LS and we proceeded to talk about it for 3 weeks before we even tried using it. Even after all the debate, we tested the glitch on an assault since it works on the same principles as salvage to see if it worked to replicate the ??? item. If this had worked we would have never even tried the glitch in salvage. At first people were worried that it was cheating, but then info came to light that JP and some NA Linkshells had been using it almost since Salvage was released (2 years ago). We thought "how could SE NOT know about this?" It started to make sense why we were seeing people with 5/5 salvage sets all over Carby. We had been at salvage for almost 2 years and only had 1-2 completed pieces each.

I wont go on but we decided after much discussion to start using the glitch/trick. we only ended up duping 2 items and only did 4 runs where we did the party splitting. Then SE patched it and it was gone. We went back to doing salvage with at least the recognition that it was a glitch and not a secret. We felt bad for even using it for those 4 runs , and I personally felt bad for bringing it to my LS. That topic has been beaten to death, but many believed that the only reason it was even fixed was because of people using it on sandworm to make millions and millions of gil (We had no clue that the glitch worked in Nyzul, Sandworm, or other areas)

Today I was permanently banned from ffxi with no recourse. The exact words of the call center supervisor I just got off the phone with was "you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning then of getting this ban reversed" Others in my LS either received temporary bans til monday - and one person (who has never had a warning on ffxi before) was permanently banned also.

Here is the meat and potatos of the conversation with the Supervisor at SE

-People who were alliance leaders during salvage runs in which the glitch was used, or organized the party disbanding were permanently banned
-Everyone who willingly went along on runs where glitch was used were temporary banned
-Everyone who went on runs unwillingly (or didnt say anything about glitch in chat log) were given a warning. People who didnt receive gear and got the e-mail saying they did - it was actually the chest items SE was speaking of.
-The ban complaint function is only there for people's frustration and to give the call center employees an exit when people are hostile. There has only been 1-2 permanent bans in the last 3 years that have ever been reversed.
-The reason some people totally avoided discipline- even after using the glitch for 2 years was because they didnt speak of it in chatlog (vent users I'm assuming)
-The 17 code can mean permanent or temporary bans - the 11 code is a billing or administrative issue

It took 2 hours of verbal judo and being transferred to different supervisors, to get to this guy that told me this stuff- He said the only reason he spoke with me was because of my good track record on game.

So goodbye Carby - I had fun and met some great friends over the years - this info hopefully will clear up some of the wrong info and wild rumours going around.

hahahahahahahahahaha

What a jolly good read this and the BG thread have been. 55 relics gone, number one in achievement gone, people crying about how it's all unfair until they run out of tears.

People who exploit/cheat get banned. They knew it, they didn't care as long as they could run around in XXX gear. Funny how everyone referred to it as a 'dupe' but asserted it wasn't their fault. The whole thing reminds me of rusty fishing way back in the day, some people saw it as cheating and others a legit way to earn gil. The same thing happened though, the banhammer came down one way or the other.

In the end, we're out hundreds of people that would dupe to get gear. Ho-hum. They can take their place with all the others that have been banned over the years in the "Who Cares Anymore" hall of fame.

He got perma'ed lolololol

What's your msn/aim/facebro so we can talk about math and violins?

Heard a rumor from a songbird that the leaders of an hnmls on our server got perma'd. Won't say who, though. Let the speculation begin!

Okay, I'm getting bugged by a lot of people, so I'll just say that their ls name sounds a lot like "Raisin" and a lot of the higher-ups are gone. Never cheated, indeed.

Sounds a lot like raisin, I like that. Way to keep them guessing. :P

even though its not my LS and they haven't exactly been nice to ours i feel sorry for them if this is true, that will shatter there LS.

Feel bad for them? For what? For being hypocrits? Lets let this play out and when we find out who is really banned and what not, lets revisit. :)

not the leaders themselves the members that had nothing to do with there salvage, still put effort and gather points and work in a shell and have it fall apart.

Eh, your right. That does suck for those that had nothing to do with it. Truth is though, they probably knew about it. Guilty by assosciation(sp?) i guess. If its Kisada that is banned though, thats just..... lol.. wow. What hypocrits. Makes me wonder what else they were hypocritical about. Once again though, until we know for sure who's banned i guess we really shouldnt even say anything at all.
