Stouter said:The problem with most bards is that they get stuck in bad camps. Pulling for a stationairy cannon that is camped outside of aggro rarely leaves you enough time to pull and keep songs up. Most parties are too afraid to camp right in the middle of where the mobs spawn, and that's why your songs wear off.
And for the record, noob wars are much worse.
"I hit the mob".
"I hit the mob again".
"Tank just ate a shadow stripping move but I don't care, I'm hitting the mob".
"Brd just pulled 2 mobs and slept them next to me but I don't care, I'm still on this mob".
"I have TP rampage GO".
"that mob is dead, hitting the next mob".
"Other mob the bard pulled is awake and chasing him, but I don't care because I'm hitting this mob".
"Whm just pulled hate and is now taking a beating from curing that brd, I'm almost to 100 TP!".
etc

Bard could be completely naked with 3 instruments(Attack, elegy and let's say march instruments, all NQ) and would still be more effective than most of the bandwagoning warriors out there. As long as they sing 5 songs a fight(2 melee, 2x ballad, elegy), and occasionally finale when needed most parties won't notice they suck. When a warrior apparently unlearned provoke after 70 levels of having the ability, that's far more noticable.
If your bard sucks roam instead of having them pull, you can still get 90% of the exp you would get with a good puller.Eulore said:But it's not as annoying if you have another warrior that still knows provoke as opposed to a single bard sucking with no one to make up for it.

Pull> buff 1 > pull > Ballad 2 > pull > Buff 2 > pull > ballad 1
For a traditional party, before you deal with cannon setups there's more than enough time to play 5 songs a fight before the mob is dead; unless the bard is retarded or asleep. This is also assuming that the bard isn't pulling, in which case they'd likely pull with elegy so that cuts it down to 4. Having been in a few cannon-like parties on my bard(nothing like at 75 though), I'd generally alternate the fights with different buffs, like this:Kire said:5 songs a fight?

pull(elegy), melee buffs
pull(elegy), ballad x2
repeat until out of mobs
This only works for when you're killing mobs extremely fast though, for normal parties there's no reason to have to break up songs like that. Even for cannon parties, that's 2 songs a fight if the bard is pulling with elegy; so my point still stands. As long as the parties get their buffs it's a lot harder for them to notice a shitty bard than a shitty warrior.
And no eulore, just having one warrior who can provoke and 2-3 who can't doesn't make up for the 2-3 shitty players.
