Movie harry potter and the half blood prince trailer

Saw it, it was great. Probably the best Potter movie so far right up there with Azkaban. It captured all the important parts of the movie, and even had a bunch of humor which was a nice balance with all the dark stuff going on. I just wish the final "battle" of the book was shown a bit more..

I'll put this in spoilers, but if you don't know this by now...bleh

Spoiler:
I was really just waiting for Bellatrix to start singing "Snape killed Dumbledore" the way she was singing "I killed Sirius Black." Would've made my day.

I thought it was a good movie, but I also can see why a lot of die hard fans are mad about this movie.

I try not compare books to movies, but I would have liked to have seen the fight in the end between the death eaters and the students, I think that was a major omission, don't understand how you leave that out. The funeral meh, it was presented nice in the book, but didn't miss that in the movie.

But, I dislike when they add scenes that weren't in the book at the expense of things that were in the book.

I also would have liked to have seen more about Horcruxes, since they were a major theme in the book, but not as important in the movie.

I'm thinking of more and more stuff that was missing as I'm writing this lol, so I'm just going to stop.

It was a good movie, just not for die hard fans of the books.

I would have liked to have seen that scene also. Also Fenrir Greyback was not a big deal as he was in the book.

Havent read the book, how do the kids even win if all the encounters they had with the death eaters on film ended with them laughing off the kids feeble spells? Did they all of a sudden get good or something?

Fixed. Harry left a bit of Felix Felicious for all of them in the book.

I guess they didn't add the fight at the end since the movies never used Bill Weasley, who was significant in that fight since Fenrir screwed him up pretty badly and everyone was sad because of the wedding that would happen in "The Deathly Hallows".

Other then that, and Hagrid deflecting spells with his skin, nothing major was left out. Only one memory really.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I was looking forward to Fenrir Greyback, and what happens to Bill :( Hope they show him more in movie 7 then D:

Probably won't. I get the feeling they're writing Bill and Fleur out of the movies completely.

I went to see the movie last night at the drive-in around my area. It was so much more fun than going to a theater! Anyway, I liked the movie (I haven't read the books) but I didn't really think it had as much of the subtle humor as many of the other movies. The tone of the whole movie was darker though, so I don't find the lack of humor to be a problem.

I'll read the books someday! I just am reluctant because all I have seen so far are the movies. I'm sure however, that I will like the books better than the movies.

all I know is i wanna be as smooth as that dude who was trying to hook up with Hermione.

Well, I went to see this last night. After reading some of the comments here I thought it sounded like the movie would be better than the last few I've seen.

I was left with the feeling that while the movie wasn't bad, the ending was horrible. Some parts of the movie felt terribly rushed to me. Also, seriously ..the movie is titled "The Half Blood Prince" and there's so little about the half blood prince even in it. What.. you have a potions book and then one brief scene where he reveals who he is. That was super lame in my opinion. I imagine the book maybe does a better job of delving into the mysteries of the HBP a little better, but I wouldn't know. They should have titled it "The Childhood of Voldemort" lol, that seemed like such a larger plot point in the movie than anything relating to the HBP. Seriously the movie was mostly about learning about Voldemort. Dumbledore's death was the quickest thing in the movie. I think they spent more time on the Christmas attack scene at the Weasly's.

This was the first movie I've ever been to where people actually booed at the end of the movie.

All that aside, I did like the movie, it's just the ending was so stupid. It was like watching a really great anime that ends up having a shitty ending and that just spoils the whole experience.

I really missed the fight scene at the end. Why in the hell would Draco bother fixing the Vanishing Cabinets if they weren't going to have the fight scene? Did we really need 4 Death Eaters to witness Dumbledore's death? I don't think so personally. Snape and Draco could have handled that alone.

I didn't mind that they left the funeral scene out. I would have liked a bit more about Ginny and Harry, and a bit more about the Horcrux mission.

I am really interested to see how they do with book 7 since they've left out things like Kreacher that are really significant in the overall storyline.

It was a good movie overall, though.

That's pretty much the extent of their use of the half-blood prince in the book too. The potions book, the spell "for enemies" that Harry finds in the book, and then the reveal of who it actually is.

Cho actually does reappear along with the rest of Dumbledore's Army at the end of 7 for the big fight. She is also accepted back kind of warmly. I just don't see how she can be accepted back so easily after betraying everyone.

Dumbledore being buried with the wand which is one of the 3 items for the Deathly Hallows.

Not for anything, and yeah, I'm sure this makes me a gigantic Harry Potter nerd, but in the movie of Order of the Phoenix, when Umbridge catches Harry, Hermoine and Ron in her office trying to use the floo network to get out of Hogwarts, Snape comes in. Umbridge asks him if he brought the Veritiserum, and he tells her no, that she used the last of his stores on questioning Cho. Veritiserum forces you to tell the truth... you see the look on Hermione's face when she understands that they misjudged Cho harshly. It leaves a pretty big opening for her to be forgiven and welcomed back - it's not like she deliberately exposed them, she didn't have a choice.

I am wondering how they are going to resolve the issue with the wand, since that was a good chunk of story in the last book.
Spoiler:
Harry is handling Dumbledore's wand in his office in one of the last scenes, and I guess I'm just wondering if they are avoiding his burial entirely or want us to assume he's already been buried, how does the whole wand storyline fit in? I mean Voldemort desecrates his grave to get it ffs. Kind of a big plotpoint.

I did see the movie and I loved it. I agree with Linh that I wished there was more of the actual fight in the end scenes, and I thought it odd that when we last left Harry, he was gaga over Cho and now suddenly a relationship with Ginny has just kind of popped up out of nowhere. Just seemed like a little more progressional development on that would have been nice. But overall I thought the movie was awesome, and really left me wanting the next one already.

Also, to my knowledge, J.K. Rowling gets final approval on the scripts/storyline. I don't believe that anything vital would be tweaked that didn't have her blessing, and considering it's her story, I'm comfortable that the end will turn out exactly as it should. I'd give a little credit to artistic license, they've been mostly faithful to the story up to now.

My only gripe about the movie is the feeling of "Oh no, he died! Movie's over!See you all for movie 7, bwahah!"

I did enjoy the movie, even though seeing some of the teachers looking signifitly older made me feel like an old person myself.
I was hoping to see the new minister of magic, and I did miss Bill.

By the way, do you guys remember Alan Rickman's death in Die Hard?
Any on else feel the ironic joke? >.>

I enjoyed it...I haven't read the books of course, but friends that have told me that compared to any other book to movie adaption Harry is the closest to the books. If any of you read Angels and Demons and then watched the movie you'll know what I'm talking about.

that being said, my friends who read the book enjoyed it as well, they said the ending could have been better (since it just kinda ends doesn't it XD) but meh. Kids were leaving with their parents when I went to go see it due to how dark/scary it was and what not.

One thing I didn't like is how Flamboyant the Actor playing Dumbledore (sp?) got. That was kinda irritating.

Idk if you've heard of these movies/books. The books are pretty old, the movies came out a few years ago. The series is titled The Lord of the Rings.

More on topic: Movie's a terrible representation of the book. They've completely fucked themselves over for the final film. And wtf at adding random content not in the books only to remove actual parts of the plot? That's fucking retarded as well.

She did originally. I'm fairly sure she doesn't anymore, because there's no way in hell I can see her signing off on the past few movies. Everything after Chamber of Secrets has been godawful.

I watched Lord of the rings...I didn't enjoy it and I won't read the books either because that's not how I do things...I don't know what you're trying to get at with that little part of your post? care to elaborate?

I think J.K. Rowling said Dumbledore was actually gay. The director said something about adding something in the film about a love he once had but she didn't agree with it because she said he was gay. Lemme find source lol.
