Have the times really changed this much?

I logged on tonight, finally after a week of being busy every night, to level my Red Mage(level 65 currently). Get an invite within about 5 mins of being on, and I ask what the party set up is, I get told its PLD DRK THF SMN (something else). I accept and we head out to kill some Crawlers in Mnt. Z.

The SMN gets to camp and says its free, but he also says that another party is staring to assemble and urges us to hurry if we want to get the camp. He says another person is there with him, so if we hurry we can claim the camp for ourself.

I get Sanction and I head out. When I zone out of the gates in Mnt Z., none of my party members are by me, so I sneak/invis myself and run for camp as fast as I can, in hopes of securing the camp for my party. When I get to the camp with the SMN ... this happens:

So at this point the party is disbanded and I run back to the tele point and go back to Whitegate, when I finally get:

My question to you QCDN, have the times really changed when melee refuse to buy any meds to get to camp, and flat out refuse to do anything unless their hand is held the whole time? I mean I know I havent been in the exp game for a while, but am I wrong for not wanting to give up our camp in hopes of getting 3 people to our camp that have no meds?
 
What are you talking about changed? Things are exactly the same as they've always been...this Screeny is from like forever ago.

That was just really lazy on their part, if you can't be bothered to get the right meds by yourself then noone should have to bother catering to your every gimp need.

Uh I got invited to a meripo at mount z the other day and someone didn't have sneak or invis and wouldn't go back so we stood there for about 10 minutes and finally just disbanded over having a shitty leader..the only time the IS excuse falls into play is if they have <200 cause then they can't get back I suppose..
 
Whats 200 ISP anyway? Do a Beseiged and you get from 1-2000 ISP's I carry silent oils and prism powders on me even when I am a mage in case of emergancys. Traveling around Toau areas you need to have those on you, rather than rely on someone else.
 
Sounds a bit like two stubborn people clashing and neither wanting to back down. You're not in the wrong for telling him he should go back for meds, I've been WHM long enough to know where that one goes, trust me.

Even more so, it's fucking Mount Z. One of the most irritating places to navigate on the way to a camp, without having to go back and Sneak/Inivisible someone who didn't bring their own meds. He knew he'd need them, he either forgot or didn't want to buy them. In addition, who knows how many times you'd have to recast Sneak/Invisible on said player on the way to your camp.

He should have brought his own meds, and could have gone back. I'd have sympathy with him if you were with him outside the gate about to set off for camp. His theories work when the mage and the broke/lazy player are together, not when the mage is already at the camp and the broke/lazy player hasn't left the runic portal area yet.

I sure as shit wouldn't go back for someone who spoke to me in that way, especially over something as ridiculous as gettin sneak/vised.

if anything its just gotten worse. things never get better in this game.
 
wait Red Mage can do something beside Refresh?
 
i always carry a basic medicine kit holy water , echo drops, silent oils, prism powders. having mages sneak is a waste of time imo.
 
What an asshat! You should have gone back and casted it on him. Then when it wore just left him out in the middle of nowhere lmao.

On a side note. Thanks Falsey, for showing me that there are good flames left in this world.

Sneaking and Invising is not a mages job, I just do it to be courteous occasionally. I always carry sneak/invis items even on mage jobs just because I don't want to rely on others like Ferque in your situation and ebarrass myself.
 
Yeah, looks like Ferque to me... lol, he always acts like that. And I can assure you, not bringing oils that day was not his first bad decision :ph34r:
 
This guy named kisada always asks me for sneaks and shit. Its annoying.
