Have the times really changed this much?

Nah, that would be the tip of the iceberg. Many, many other problems would follow, and the party would suck.

So this went from preparedness to samurai wang-slapping?

Carry on.

To respond to Iaredrew- when falsey was already at camp and the pld was sitting at the staging point it would of been quicker for the pld to go back to whitegate and get oils and powders, and if they can't afford the IS or the Gil they are obviously too poor to be partying and need to go farm and do some besieged before partying again.

To the comments about the third eye and seigan.

Third Eye.

Doesn't.

Block.

Magic.

Third eye is also a lot more unpredictable where sometimes it can block over 6 attacks in a row and other times it can block 1 attack, meanwhile utsusemi is a guaranteed 3 magic or physical attacks.

The Ecphoria ring is not very useful in exp parties since it does have a 5 minute timer and is rare so you can only hold one. Since Ecphoria ring is the only cure to amnesia third eye is not very practical since imps usually spam amnesia.

Silena or Echo drops is an easy way to remove silena and doesn't require much at all so it is much easier for Eor to cast utsusemi while using Hasso.

Using Hasso a majority of the time > Using Seigan a majority of the time. Hasso offers a boost of about 9 acc, str, and haste% at lvl 63-69 and at 70 thats 10 acc, str, and haste % while Seigan just cuts third eye recast in half and adds a countering effect. With this said it is much more beneficial for Eor to keep up hasso over seigan.

Excuse me for the mistypes I just worked a very long day and am extremely tired and Falsey is still right about not sneaking and invising Ferque =p.

Oh and sorry for making your flame further off topic falsey =p.

Wow, I'm really sorry Falsey. I knew Ferque for a few years, never shared a linkshell with him but knew hi through my cousin who used to play. I always hear random stories but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Pictures or it never happend I guess. It happend.

As for this WSM person, I never read over your posts to be honest, but after reading over yours in this thread, I'm convinced that your not serious and that your just making an effort to say that. I /pray that you are and I'm a struggling Athiest.

There's a reason they allowed casters to cast sneak on others. Shalalalalalalahalalalal shut up. Just cast it and get it over with.

You don't need to permanently keep Seigan up to gain some of the benefit it provides. As I already stated, you can use it primarily as a means of allowing yourself the lower Third eye recast, thus mitigating more damage, and allowing you to switch back to the benefits of Hasso immediately after using S+TE. Nowhere did I state that you need to fulltime it.

Utsusemi will only absorb single target magic. Any aoe-type that lands removes them completey and you don't have Ni at pre-74 levels, so where does that leave you if you just cast and got hit by an aoe?

You and others seem to have entirely missed my whole issue less with the fact that /nin provides benefits that can be used in conjunction with already available Samurai abilities, and more with the fact that instead of asking for silena, using S+TE, the post indicated he'd rather just stand there and sponge mp to prove some kind of point.

Simply re-read the post, I won't bother quoting it again, and come back and tell me where that attitude is appropriate.

You dont seem to get it do you. In addition to utsusemi blocking a majority of both magical and physical attacks if shit hits the fan eor would pop s+te like after a ga spell

subbing nin allow eor to full time hasso (with exception to shit hitting the fan)
without being a complete MP sponge to the mages allowing him to maximize dmg while have to have an acceptable amount of MP spent curing him

No, you don't seem to have a basic reading comprehension. The last 2 parts of my post are my issue in this.

I never once stated anything other than using /nin sub.

Here's a clue: you can actually use Seigan and Third eye while subbing Ninja too.

You don't need to fulltime Seigan. Again, point out where I said you do.

One final time, you can use Utsusemi together with these abilites to further reduce damage taken. Particularly without the use of Ni, and having the Ichi recast timer up. It's about being efficient within your exp party and not trying to sponge.

Read the last two paragraphs of my above post.

If you don't use seigan and third eye together then you will only block one physical attack with third eye. Yes I agree after a aga spell Eor should and probally does through up seigan and third eye if he can and recasts it under the protection of third eye.

A mage in the mire shouldn't need to be asked for silena in the mire with the imps spamming silence it is their job to be ready with silena so it should be no more inconvenience then of a mage being ready with a stun for a gates of hades on a cerb.

Will you people stop posting about Seigan and distracting the rest of us from WSM's staggering display of mental retardation?

It reminds me of the first night in Aht Urghan, watching him die to the same undead mob three times in 5 minutes.

hell, i'd pay good money to see something like that.

As a general rule: After zoning, tele, w/e, you deserve one snk/inv but that is it. A mage can not babysit a bunch a melee and avoid agro themselves. Bring oils and powders and shut up.

There are exceptions to this rule of course a few are:
- needing to rush to camp like what happened to the original poster.
- running ahead before the mage(s) are in the area or if your just too dam slow you can gtfo.
- if you don't like them.... etc.

I'm not surprised that the average fb troller like you can't follow the conversation. Lol.

It really doesn't matter the mindset of the mage in you're party. Whether they're one to babysit the entire pt all the way to the camp, they toss one snk/invis before starting the run to the camp, or they say fuck it you're on your own, a good DD (we really any job) should be prepared. Have all necessities: oils/powders, tools, food, echoes. Everybody wants the same thing from an exp/merit pt: experience/limit points, and lots of them. Not having these things will gimp your party in one way or another and limit the amount of points you can get as a group.

Regarding the whole sam/nin using seigan debate, bring echoes and be prepared to use them. A good mage should have silena macroed and be tossing it first on the DD that is getting hit, but you need to be prepared to take care of yourself if the mage gets silenced as well. There is no reason to be taking damage just to wait for the mage to silena you.
