Why am I not surprised Lavi is the one throwing a damper on the fun in that first shot lol...
Ouch.
I'd heard they were cracking down on RMT cleaves, but I haven't been playing for months, so it wasn't really an issue for me.
So what did you do to get down to your last strike? XD
Instructions weren't clear enough. Got penis stuck in laptop USB drive.
EDIT:
Well I remember before I quit the first time I used to MPK people leveling along with my circle of friends at the time Rannoch/Tidusstrife/Ravensmage, Gunnerx, Bender, and Mrmadwolf in West Ronfaure with that high level Orc NM from the 7-1 Sandy missions. I'd also use the Whm af weapon shadow NM in valkurm dunes. This was all done post-MPK nerf since NMs didn't despawn until they ventured back to their spawn points. Good times..
One of these instances inevitably ended up with a guy named Deuce getting banned because he started a shout fight over it in Whitegate, and someone reported him. Supposedly it was his last strike as well lol.
When I was in my ZNM shell way back when I also liked to invite this really gullible guy named Jaderattlesnake to my party with no reason behind it at all, sneak up on him as WHM while I was invisible, and start casting teleport-whatever then quickly switch gear so the animation would end, but the casting wouldn't and he would be sent to the middle of nowhere without a warp more often than not. I think I got him with that 4 or 5 times and still have a few screen shots of one or two different times to boot. Eventually a friend and I decided to double team it, and I teleported him and then as soon as we zoned in a BLM friend of mine retraced him, and then we both warped and left him there lulz.
I don't really remember ever getting suspended, jailed, or a GM mentioning giving me any strikes before, but I can only guess that any of the aforementioned occasions probably added a strike without me knowing about it. Maybe it was a one strike deal? I don't know. I got perma'd the following day after SE had put out a statement basically saying that they were investigating / hunting down anyone who took part in RMT shout cleave parties and taking action against them. That also includes people trading them say 500k or so for a spot in the alliance. This actually all took place a few days prior to them putting out a warning, so I feel as if I got kind of screwed but whatevs. I knew the risk I was taking I guess. So yeah! Don't do that if any of you still play haha.
Oh yeah here's some of the pictures I found on my ancient photobucket account lol.

I've been visiting the site daily to see if it was back up.
Since Shaggy is our first proactive administrator in what seems like four? years now, there are definitely suggestions to be given.
Let's start with the major ones. Agreements, dissensions, etc welcome.
You brought the FB back. Good. Next.
The ratings system was a hilarious (for all the wrong reasons) part of the board culture. It's still around, but doesn't stick out like it used to. Hopefully that changes.
Next. This site died because it tried to change from a Quetzalcoatl FFXI site to a FFXIV site. Actually, the user domain implies that it still is. You clearly own the QCDN.org domain though, so why not have the default domain redirect to that again, if possible?
Also, we need to purge the FFXIV feel from the site. It deserves a spot on the board, but not the primary focus. Right now, the (imo, ugly) themes the board have advertise the hell out of FFXIV, and are really in your face. We need a simpler theme that reminds users that this is the QCDN everyone remembers and enjoyed visiting.
We'll never get our popularity of old back. The game's not that popular anymore and this site never will be either. But this thread is proof that you can absolutely attract the remaining userbase. You can start by making the board more visually appealing.
The total boards. There's too many of them. Used to be so popular that this was needed. Not the case now.
Axe the entire FFXIV section. The game is borderline dead right now and only needs one forum. FFXIV Discussion is enough.
Dynamis scheduling is pointless, get rid of it. I would actually campaign to get rid of everything but General Discussion and FB in that section as the rest are handled on BG and FFXIAH and will never be popular here again.
Gaming is in four sections. Too many. Make it one. Tavern is a really popular forum, as is Everything Anime. Needs to be more featured. Removing some of the above forums will allow more users to see it on the front page easier and give it more traffic.
And finally, the reason this site was made so popular was user participation. I'm one of the early adopters of QCDN. Back when the site was growing exponentially on the server, the PR crew on here advised everyone to put the site in their Bazaar message and tell everyone they know about it. That's not gonna work now. What will work is letting your friends in game know that the site is back. Not in game anymore? Contact them on Skype or something. FFXI is a shell of its former self, but BG is still just as big. There's no reason we can't be like that.
PS: I'm willing to do all of the board work if you wanted. This post isn't really a "hey, make me an admin" request at all, I just want to see the site improved and am willing to do the work myself if that's what is necessary.
Huh?Why could members put the message in their Bazaar anymore?
