Here's to Real People with REAL Talent

Its the demographics. I'm willing to bet most of the people who watch "country has talent" haven't seen ANY musicals. Now they are interested in them, after seeing someone they can relate to sing a song from it so well.

But that's the thing...

The people in the musical can sing better and it's not like they are all super models. You don't have to be "gorgeous" to be in a musical, you can barely even see them on stage and they wear loads of stage make up

Potts > Boyle

Have I told you that I love you today?

Gosh guys, we all know that butters people can sing. Have you seen 'The Gossip' damm... that girl has a killer voice.

I thought the same thing, they did have a sync problem with the 3 guys in the front but after that it went really well. I don't like how they keep showing the two dudes in the wings like commentators though, that gets kind of old fast.

The hosts are called Ant and Dec, they also host Pop Idol in Britain and are kind of comedians/hosting everything, much like Ryan Seacrest in the U.S. Because they do the dual-host thing a lot, the Idol producers tried it for the first season of American Idol (with pretty disastrous results). That they have the reputation for being "funny" is probably why they keep cutting over to them, though I know in America's Got Talent they do the same with Jerry Springer. I can't stand that they're showing the judges' reactions while the act is still in progress, it's one thing to do that if they're singing but if it's an unusual act like juggling or gymnastics or something, I'd rather watch the act than Piers staring blandly ahead with an amused smirk on his face....

Yea, Brian Dunkleman left Idol because he thought it was a bad career move (at the time) and pretty much said that whoever won would have to sign themselves over to the show (which is true in some respects).

It was on Celebrity Fit Club that he spoke about his reasons for leaving American Idol after hosting the first season. He stated his departure was due to the terrible way they treated the young contestants on the show, staging the fights between the judges and reshooting contestants with producer-provided, glycerin tears in their eyes. He went on to say that leaving the show was a mistake.

I wonder if he'd still be on the show if he didn't quit.

Britain's Got Talent singer Susan Boyle may not be as naive as she would have us believe.

The 47-year-old spinster told viewers of the U.K. TV talent show that she lived alone, had a cat called Pebbles, and had "never been kissed."

But it wasn't true.

Boyle, who has competed in countless talent shows, used the line to curry favor with the audience. She told a TV interviewer from U.K. breakfast show GMTV, "That was made as a joke! Never been kissed? I've never stopped."

The blogosphere has lit up at the news.

"Angel or crazy for publicity? You decide," was how fan site CafeArjun.com responded. "I'm forced to believe it was all a planned show!"

Popwrap.com branded her a "one-trick pony," while NowPublic.com was more understanding: "Do you think a peck on the cheek counts for being kissed?" the site asked.

But Boyle's admission has done nothing to dampen the ardor of her millions of new fans. Many believe Boyle, who has been nicknamed the "hairy angel" according to Britain's Daily Mail, should be declared the winner of the show right now. (She has at least one more song to perform).

"Now that Susan Boyle has been acknowledged as a singing sensation for her beautiful voice, I think it would be a good idea to declare her the winner of Britain's Got Talent," wrote C.J. Crane from Mallorca in Spain.

"I am glad Simon Cowell looks like he's going to give her a recording contract," said Raymond Rees from Wales.

British fan D.E. Atkins wrote: "The makeover squad should leave Susan Boyle alone. It is her singing and simplicity that people love. Once they start trying to change Susan's image they will spoil her."

But is it too late? Is overnight stardom already threatening to change Susan Boyle?

Since her first audition, the local council has built a fence around her home to discourage autograph-hunters. Boyle has also hired a hunky live-in bodyguard, been seen sporting an expensive leather jacket, and has agreed to go on a date with one of the judges.

I lol'd.

This just in: Being unattractive and having a bit of talent awards you record contract. Quit shaving your armpits and plucking your eyebrows girls, you'll be on the fast track to success!

wait, wait, she has a date with one of the judges?

There's only one judge that's possible to date, unless one cheat on their girlfriend and the other is a lesbian... although that would be hot, but not with Boyle >.O

If one more person talks to me about that susan boyle performance of les miserable I'm wasgoing to puke my balls out through my mouth.

These guys aren't bad... I think that for their style they have 2 or 3 too many members. Looks a bit cluttered at times.

I also think I'm spoiled by watching America's Best Dance Crew. The guys who won last season, Quest Crew, would destroy these guys. But every single member of that crew was serious.

And Susan Boyle was ok, not amazing. Her vibrato annoyed the hell out of me.
