When I get high enough to unlock advanced jobs, I would like to play as Puppetmaster. What role do they normally play in groups?
 
Hi there, welcome to the boards. :) I can't answer that question since I'm mainly a BST or a DNC but we have some very talented players on this board who I'm sure can answer that question.
 
Hello and welcome. :) On my pup I mostly soloed so far. Personally when I did party I acted as a melee DD with my pup using the ranged attack one. I would setup your autmaton based on what the rest of the party lacks and/or whatever the mob's weakness is. Also, attachments are your friend. You will only need one of the attachments and you can trade them to the npc Tateeya in Whitegate (I-7) at lvl 1 pup. She will add it to your autmaton and you can equip it according to your needs. Welcome, and good luck with PUP. Its an awesome job, but subject to the lolPUP stigma just like DRG in the past. Take it from personal experience, PUP can be an awesome DD when properly equipped, especially the RNG automaton. Ive seen combined damage of 1300+ (Howling Fist + Armor Piercer) on Imps and Colibri. The hardest part is leveling it up tho so I wish you the best!
 
Hello and welcome, I would say if there was one thing I wish I had thought about better while lvling my pup its, which frame I got when. You get a new frame at 10,20,30. Make sure you pick them in the order you plan to use them. I am with the others though, I had the most fun with my Rng auto.
