HNMKISS(LS) System Discussion

Im not entirely sure what we plan to do, but we've been discussing only letting the 'free lot' thing go on until after the first kill is made. Then starting on that kill, everyone gets 1 point for the kill, and the people who gain items lose their 1 point. Afterwards, continuing where each kill gives 1 point and each item gained reduces points to zero. This should deter people from lotting on everything, thus, making all but the most coveted items essentially a 'free lot' because nobody wants their points reduced to zero for its sake.

Its a work in progress.. and could go either way depending on how the ls fares and what the general consensus is. In any case, screaming "FREE LOT" is a good marketing ploy, no? :-D

So now you're looking at a point system, but they could win a piece of crap item and lose all their points? Hell, you could just clean up every camp but the rarest items without much effort at that point, get a single point for the camp; spend it on the drops and move on.

So you're planning to lie to your members and change things around after they join?

I take back anything I said that might be interpreted as the least bit hopeful.

ok ok.. things gettin out of hand and I already had my fun.. confession..

Scwall and I decided to make a shell the other day, for a social. But then we were like.. hey.. lets make it a HNM shell. Yea ok, that sounds cool. But I dont wanna keep track of points and all that stuff. Yea I dont have time to lead a shell either. k.. lets just make one anyway lol. Yea, alright.. but lets not use points. Ok, what should we do? Free lot? lol ok. You know this isnt gonna work, right? lol yea but itll be funny. lol yea. I got some friends who might wanna try somethin like this. Ok lol.

After we invited every tom dick harry, and all the scum of the earth things went nuts. One guy even wrote a song lol(which we forbade him to post on qcdn)! We let most of the people in on the plan, which was basically try to PUG(pickupgroup) a HNM(which basically became the objective of this experiment). We hadn't originally intended for the sincerity to be so elusive, but we didnt think we would actually be able to PUG an HNM unless we advertised as a 'real' linkshell(plus it was more interesting to see what people thought in the light that this was a real shell).

I agree that DKP is the best way to go in order to keep the peace and ensure a lasting, successful linkshell. Anyways, sorry for disturbing the peace. It was all in good fun, just an experiment for plausibility purposes and shts and giggles I guess, too.

The linkshell will likely persist as some sort of social, but any continuation of the experiment is likely to be voided after this post seeing as nobody else will join based on the fact that its not being taken seriously. We are still short a few members to carry it out. I was completely amazed with the amount of people who did join though, in just a short time. If we kept working on it longer, I am most certain we could at least make an appearance in force sometime in the near future, but due to some of the things said, Ive decided things are getting a little too crazy, so Im cutting it loose before it causes any potential damage. Thank you all, and have mercy =)

I'd like to publicly apologize to the member's who've been recruited or who are interested in joining. After much consideration (which should have been made before creating the experiment) it has been decided the system in place will create a negative environment towards friendships and members among the LS.

As Dracoden explained earlier, the system is derived from pick up groups for smaller scale activities. Using this plan for HNM is ludicrous concerning claim rate, drop rate, and more importantly for those who show up regularly. There are plenty of other variables and most have been discussed in this thread. I would gladly change the system in favor of discussions with the current members, the "bait and switch tactic" seems to be a misunderstanding.

The problem with changing the system is I don't have the playtime to co-lead a linkshell of this proportion. There are only small windows of time that I can attend kings, I find this unacceptable as a leader and even as a casual player. After working full-time and a bit of drama at kings, I made the choice to leave them to stay with my sky and dynamis shells because I can commit to them. Even if I stayed with Kurei's shell and dropped dynamis/sky, it would be unfair to them and myself; only being able to attend certain windows due to working full time. Aside from that, I'm going back to school in mid September.

Thanks for all the replies about this sketchy endeavor. Nothing has been taken personally and I appreciate the harsh nature that is needed when critiquing a project.

I always thought Australia was more civilized than that...

Wow... just wow... I had been reading along thinking you didn't quite get things, then you pull this ball buster out. I would imagine not having a Walmart in your area is probably a better sign of living in a civilized area than not. I've never seen anything but the dreckes of society there myself. I can honestly say I've never felt so poor as the firt moment I stepped into a Walmart, aside from all proceeding steps inside there after.

Edit: Lawl, didn't read the end of this til now, but had been holding back from suggesting it sounded like a social shell's structure more than anything else.
