This just makes me want to puke. Over a year now, I have been levling my drg. People I've helped flag the job have even passed me, let alone friends with higher demand jobs. And I don't give a shit. I decided I wanted to have the best gear possible, so it wasn't too often I was seeking and sitting around doing nothing. This really annoying DRG I know seems me at the AH. He has already let me know in a bragging way that he beat me to 70. I guess we were racing, idk. He checks my bazaar which had a corazza, cosicles, colossal lance, and tarasque mitts +1 in it. He tells me that its "not fair" that I have those items. Reason being he can actually equip them and I can't. After trying to just brush him off, he then /tells me...

"How do you make your gil?"

...

Yeah, ok. There's really dumb people with high jobs in our server. But whats sad is that by lvl 70 you don' t know even one decent way of making money? You don't need 100 in a craft to make gil. Shit... if you have 1-2 stacks of seals and a few friends, you can make about 1-2 million a weekend. Its not hard shit. The best part is when I refuse to tell people my exact science of making my money, they get pissed. No one with a brain will find a good way to make gil and go around and share it with the server. Does no one have any fucking patience or motivation? Nobody told me when I started playing, "OK... here's how you are going to make your gil" I've taken crafting tips from some friendly crafters, but never have I been like, "D00d.. how u get ur gilz 2 buy materialz?"

This also pissed me off, but I didn't want to jack Lanien's post.

I am jealous and envious to know how you came about to have this kind of money in the first place? Are you extremely lucky with rare drops of NM's...do you fight Gods alot? Dynamis?

Do you have THF lvl'd high enough to get good drops? Get alot of your money from friends quitting the game and them giving you their gil? Once again lucky if that is the case.

I mean you don't have to share your all your secrets but are you just lucky? Do you craft alot? Do you buy gil? Have you hunted really hard rare items like Thief's Knife? Farm 8 hours a day?

Sorry to put you on the spot just curious and a little jealous thats all. :P
Once again I am sorry for your loss. :(

Awesome subtle accusation. And my thf is 20, I get really fuckin rich off it. You can't get good drops from NMs w/o thf.

Couple days later I hit 70. This same guy sees me waiting for the ship. He goes, "Hey, Gae Bolg sucks. Colossal Lance has lower delay." I go, "Oh, this one?" and equip it. Then he goes, "Nice O Hat, can I go on a run with you?" Man... it never changes. I'm going to take advice from someone who will probably fight Hakutaku with a cermet lance. Anyways, point and case, here's a big fuck you to all the haters. Get off your fucking ass and go work for something, you xp-whores.

You stay classy, Quetzacoatl

XD

If I can add my own two cents...I can't help but laugh (...and laugh...) at the people who say crap like "I'm not gonna waste two days farming gils, I want xp lolz", when really, if they spent just ONE day at a decent farming spot they could at least get SOME half-decent gear which would probably make them get more xp than they would if they just xp'ed both days (rather, day 1 = farm gil, get better stuff & day 2 = xp will probably result in more exp than just doing xp both days with crappycrap.)

Poor, poor people thinking Goblin Grenade is a good substitute for Bomb Core..

my my my

I agree with you about the BCNM part you can make money easily with those if all the ppl in the party bring their own seals and orbs and do the fight a good couple of times. Your orb, your drops, your money. Without BCNMs I could never afford my mage crap. I'll NEVER EVER maybe EVER afford any of the WHM crap @_@ I was luckly not to be still broke after buying the Igquira Weskit body for BLM. 2mil gone for one piece of armor which is like a drop in the bucket compared to what WHMs have to pay for a noble's tunic or a V Cloak.

Earning gil is 50% hard work and about 50% luck these days. That being said I do everything to make gil....I grow plants to augment my cooking, I grow elemental ores whenever time allows, I farm when I can motivate myself and I do BCNMs whenever I get the chance. But the big secret to making gil....don't be foolish with your money.....shop around and be careful not to by at the wrong time....for example I paid 80K for my Black Cloak and the last time I checked it was 400K. What I'm saying is you need to use your brain and stop asking everyone else what they do since they're strategy most likely won't work for everyone.

Thank you.

Does anyone like farming? God, I hope not, it would take a very bland person to actually enjoy killing the same two or three mobs endlessly.

It may be unfortunate, but this game does make you 'work' for your equipment. If your not willing to do so you will be faced with dissapointment. Either through your own crappy perfomance, or through others constantly pointing out your crappy performance.

If you aren't the type that can stand doing repititious stuff, you might want to pick another game, and then another, and then another. There are very few games out there that aren't filled with repitition in one form or another.

You could maybe lvl beast master. You'll still suck, but at least you won't have to hear your party members bitch becuase your gear is gimped.

There are ways around not making money, but none of them seem less frustrating then just taking the time to earn some gil.

With that said, please post how you make your gil, like what do you craft, and like where do you sell it at, and ummm where do you buy the materials, and oh yeah, can you maybe just give me some gil just for shits and giggles because I don't have the time or patience to earn it myself, that would be great thx

When I hit 69 I think it was, I took about a month break and just farmed as much as possible without dying of boredom until I had the gil for my level 73 equipment.

Actually the +1 str would help out on Weaponskills more than Bomb Core. It would be minimal, and the DoT from Bomb Core would more than make up for it, but maybe that's what they're seeing.

There are plenty of people I could accuse of buying gil. Plenty of times I see a player who started the game less than 6 months ago shoot up to level 75 with more money than me somehow. Of course I don't accuse because I don't know, and anybody who claims to know is a fool. Until somebody goes ahead and hacks IGE I doubt any of us will know nay time soon.
(Not that I particulary care, unless I suspect it and they gloat to the point of annoyance.)

Yeah, I'm doing that right now at lvl 45, and I'm sure I'll have to do it many more times before I even reach 69. I haven't put enough time into reseaching a way to make residual income. I'm not on every night in order to farm, and haven't had the money to invest into starting a craft.

I figure over the next two months I'll find a craft that I can easily make some steady change from, and also kill around 1million mobs for their drops. O, and also lvl that gimped scythe I've mentioned a couple of times, heh.

It will be worth it. My last party I didn't hit nearly as much as I would like, and when I did the damage was pretty pathetic. The only other gear I can see helping me at this lvl is going to run around 3mil or so....sigh.

I can make some change from woodworking at level 30... but I can make more in the time it takes to craft and sell by farming.

Yeah, nice qoute, hehe.

I kind of figured it that is the case, that is why I've earned all my gil through farming up untill now.

I have found that farming materials for crafting can be lucrative. Like making beeswax from beehive chips. Everyone knows about it, but very few people do it. Well...at least they didn't before this post, hehe.

The bottom line is, there are tons of ways to make gil in this game. Some are more efficent than others, but even the most dim witted person can do it.

I think it is just a matter of pride. Some people won't so much as put their seek up without having the best equipment possible, while others will use the same gimped out crap untill they are actually booted from parties for it.

Seems to be that way. I just hope the people that put forth the extra effort keep outweighing the people that don't in terms of reward. Some of the crap I have I don't need in order to xp. I like to make myself versatile for the party's sake. I always try to make it count when I xp.

Not to mention when there are 4 other dragoons around my level, maybe whoever is making the party will hopefully say, "Oh shit, there's Audino, grab him!"

look down. :D

LOL Well I was lvlin in yhoat jungle and we got this 28 rng with archer knife he said he was tryin to save money. And to keep this short I told him gimping him self is gonna cost him more than ungimpin especialy as a rng. Most cases when you buy a weapon for X price youll most likely sell it for the same price. But that requires alittle research cuz I bough tropical punch for my mnk at 40k and sold them for 60k at lvl 21 (although I sold them too early and ended up rebuying them). If you research some youll find yourself upgrading you gear and still break even if not a few k lose. Me personaly I made money the last 3 times I upgraded my gear sometimes I make 3-30k+. But after gimpin rng all the way to lvl 60 Im just now finding out good effective ways to make money. Via farmin and crafting

Audino > all DRG's. (Sept maybe prongs cause he'll yet at me)

He works damn hard for his shit, I've known him for a rediciulous amount of time. <3 Audino. I'll make a sweet flash just for you.

Time to hack IGE.

Free gil for everyone~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Whoa...

Two-sides to this coin.. Do you drive a bmw or do you drive a ford? Do you go to work every day looking at your co-workers bmw and think damn I wish I had that car. Wonder how they got it.. we got the same job and I'm just driving this ford. Or, maybe you're the guy driving the bmw and thinking to yourself.. man, wish I had that ford, I'm still in debt with this bmw, and couldn't even take my family on vacation to disney.

Okay, so that's a real life scenerio and I know this is a video game. Key word... game... So easy to forget, I know. "I -worked- so hard for this gear..."... okay, you missed something there. I'm not bashing any one here, but, there is no way you could persuade me to stop at lvl 68 and farm 10 mil gil for a noble's tunic when I could have more fun w/o one at level 70+. And the comment about BST is so true.. so very true I have often wanted to just return to the way of the BST. I have decent gear, and am willing to not get a party invite for not having all the ritz.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't want to have great gear. I turned down several invites over time to save for spells because it was important to me even if the party itself did not care if I did not have the spell. Point is, we all have our own objectives. As far as when I was a new adventurer..

the advice was to sell everything.. right down to the rabid tail. If it did not sell on the ah, sell it to the npc. Now of course, I'd say the options have changed and there are days when I make nothing.. And sometimes, those are the best played days of all 'cus I still had fun in the process.

I drive a CT 2000. w/e.

Aside from the fact whms have such a tough time fighting each other for invites, maybe as much as rdm, I think its a little easier to get by an extra couple levels if say, you don't have Erase. Anyway, I give a lot of props to everyone that levels a mage high. Spells get really expensive, and what sucks is that you can't sell them back like you can with armor or weapons. Whenever I'm free I try hard to help all the mages in my LS get their high level scrolls for farming. For a while, Beadeaux was my 2nd home

I don't think anyone should have to grind their time by farming. This flame was meant for the level-whores, not the average player. I do tons of shit for fun with a lot of people. Those people and times are what keeps me involved in this game. Most people here have a job irl, I don't think they're looking for a second one. Fun is the whole point. What I've been trying to say is that some of the people on here, instead of hating on all the people with expensive gear or ub3r rare/ex shit, they should go work towards it instead of criticizing the ones that have.
