Many people have only just begun getting into the FF craze. Some have been around since halfway through the numbered series. (VII).

Then you have those of us who have been around FF our entire lives. To say that they haven't influenced us in some way would be a sad mistake.

In what way has FF influenced you? The way you live, what you eat, the way you talk, the way you deal with others, etc. etc.

Personally, it's really helped me as far as reading skill and vocabulary. Before voice acting started taking a bigger hold, I would read every bit of story that was offered. Games like VIII really helped push my reading level up. Because of this, I think it has also directly affected my composition skill. I write as if I were submitting a storyline, where every detail needs to be thought out and perfect.

On a similiar note, I have the bad habits of capitalizing the word 'WEAPON' outside of FF context and using roman numerals for any number smaller than 20.

Those are two really odd habits <_<;;

I would have to say that FFXI had affected my life the most and I remember talking about this previously. The first Final Fantasy I played was actually X, which is why I played XI even though they have nothing to do with each other. Playing FFXI has better a lot of things in my life. I learned a lot of real life things from the people who play the game. I learned how to deal with stupid people better. I became more of a gamer; I was more of a casual one before FFXI. It has greatly increased my grammar and spelling skills because I had to read so much.

However, those last two points have downsides as well. Becoming more of a gamer can cause me to be inconsistent and slightly unreliable due to me getting sucked into a game. My increased grammar and spelling skills have made me a slight grammar snob.

If I really had to pick whether playing FFXI (or all the other FFs for that matter) was for the best or for the worst, I would definitely say it was for the better.

FF taught me to walk into every home I see and rummage for useful items

I was inspired a lot by FFVI back in the days. I owe FFVI a lot since it was my first real RPG but also it was the one who introduced me to "complex English" for a 9yrs old french-canadian. I didn't understand a lot in my first play through but I sure used a dictionary for the first time lol. It was a challenge and my parents would help me to understand more complex part of the story so I can progress further. I was ahead of my time on that because we did not start to learn English before 4th grade. It helped me a lot back in the days to learn the basics. I also fell in love with Mr. Uematsu's music. People think that I am crazy when I say that my favorite composers are almost all japanese (Uematsu, Mitsuda, etc., etc.). FFIX soundtrack is still my second best soundtrack right behind CC. It was also the first soundtrack I imported from Japan :D. Yeah I'm a fucking nerd.

I say "welcome back" outside of FFXI and people think I'm odd for it...

I remember when I asked for some food in the canteen and I said "<insert food here> can I have it?" she looked at me as if to say "can I get a please with that bitch?" Also referred to money as gil before. No one noticed thankfully.
