How Not to Act at Level 75!

What Jezza said about the coffer dropping on other mobs and letting exp-ers get the mobs. Never hinder another's group exp especially when you can get whatever you want from some other place. I hunt Aquarius and when I do I kill the crabs that normal lvl 55 party levels on. If there is a group there. I don't kill. I let them kill it off for the exp. (by the way.. those crabs are nice for me to level shield and parry on and still get like 30-40 exp a kill ^^) There's no need to be rude like that.

OK the thing that kills me in this....

At first not all the mobs were not being taken. Not at all. I mean how else do you pull 2 beetles and sleep one so that we can't "steal" them. Then someone in my pt said "oh they got a link" So we came running to help out and then get no thanks yous which in turned pissed some people in my pt off and that's when I think they started pulling everything. I was not pulling. I started to suggest we go kill something else and then we got the key drop anyway.

Also there was one lvl 75 in the party. The rest of us were 60ish.

The one night a week thing is annoying too. Boo hoo. Did you ever think that maybe this was the only night we had enough help for coffer hunting? (which btw Sidd has been asking for help for weeks now) I only lvl with my static one or two nights a week as well. There have been nights where higher levels killed everything off on us because they were camping a NM. Don't see any flames about it here by me do you? Or maybe I should flame the Gob in Bibiki bay that wiped out my entire party last week and caused about 45 mins of downtime while we waited for a raise.

There are lots of other things that could've been done differently by both sides. But after I started to get slapped and pissed on I stopped giving a shit to be honest with you.

Interesting the things that get left out.

First of all when I offered to move I thought it was because of lag. I didn't realize you guys wanted us to leave. Which is why we only moved further down in the tunnel.

Second of all some of the people in my party started to get pissed after they tried to help you with link and didn't get a thank you when we tossed out heals (even though we did thank you when you did the same for us).

Third, regardless of what my pt members did I NEVER once did a nasty emote. Yet I was slapped and pissed on. So don't even start to fucking bitch to me about courtesy.

Fourth, I didn't like the tone that "we are xping so that's more important than what you have to do and our time is more valuable" The person we were getting the key for is 2 levels past his af. It's not always easy to get people to come help with coffer keys, especially if you don't have a static.

And last we were only there for 45 mins tops.

I'm done with this. I tried talking to people in tells in game and all I got was rude replies and even more rude emotes. If you want to think I'm an evil bitch then go ahead. There are plenty of people in this game who will tell you otherwise.

We told you all in /say what was going on - and your party members KNEW, so it is hard to believe that you were blind to it. *I like you, and am not trying to offend you - but it was some major BS.

*And I do not recalll any heals thrown out when we were linked - infact - I DO remember members of your party standing around WATCHING us get linked and doing the /laugh emote.

I was shocked that fellow QCDNers would treat eachother this way.

Nope. I wouldn't, but I wouldn't take every single mob in the area so they had no chance of xping. I wouldn't take one that popped RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THEIR CAMP. I need my AF too, but I don't walk all over other players to get it.

That is ABSOLUTELY true - I couldn't believe that they were camping beetles that popped in our camp...it was just the rudest display I think I have ever seen in FFXI

I don't know why the high levels didn't leave the helm beetles alone and just say something like "Hey guys, we're trying to get a coffer key and are going to be clearing out everything in the area...what mobs are you XP'n on? OH! Helm beetles? Okay, well if you guys get a coffer drop do you mind inviting "insert name here" so they can lot on the key? Thanks!"

I think it was very irrisponsible of the High levels to kill everything in the area just because they can. Yomi and her party didn't stand a chance and you guys knew it, yet you blatantly abused the fact that you're higher level and they're not. :?

Sneaky mentioned that when he was running around trying to pull HE TOO was getting snotty /emotes from the higher levels and getting laughed at. It was truly a disgrace.

First off, I'd like to point out Nyyankee did this sort of thing to my party in Garlaige when I was on my Warrior once. I asked him to stop nicely, and he responded in shout with..

"GO F??? URSELF"

This was followed by rude remarks, and then threats to train shit onto my party. Eventually, considering his lack of wit, he just shutup. Then he sic'd Sirshin on me, who claimed I was 'talking shit' to his bro...He proceeded to threaten me with the same trains to party. Kept calling me a noob. Funny how people are so stupid they will assume you are noob cuz you're lower level.

On topic, regarding certain comments...I dunno who said the whole 'well your party could have gone and found another camp in less then 45 minutes blah blah blah..' Please. So if you were at a Restaurant, and some people came in and insisted on using your table, you should do what? Get up and get a new table? They had that camp first. They were EXP'ing there before the coffer hunters showed. If anyone should have moved, it was the coffer hunters.

I've helped multiple people get coffers there. And one time a party was present. We pulled one beetle for every 2 they got to be fair. Then, when they claimed two people had to leave and replacements were coming, we went on a killing spree and got the drop. By the time their replacements got there, we were leaving.

It's not that hard to be fair. Having a little common courtesy is all it takes. And to those who give that "I pay 14 bucks a month" bullshit...I hate to point at this, but you are some of the same people who say...When a newbie claims they will do what they want cuz they pay for this game, they are wrong. You have to play your job to the best of it's being so your party gets more EXP!!!!! Well, same here assholes. Just cuz you pay doesn't give you the right to be a dickhead and ruin someone else's gameplay. Whether it be a stupid or badly leveled sub, or crashing someone's EXP session..It's the same shit. My two cents.

*Can I also point out that our entire exp party needed to Sneak/Invis to get to our camp....we all know that Sneak/Invis wear off randomly - so getting a whole party to a camp is a pain in the ass. We could catch aggro from anything on our way there. SO MOVING CAMP WOULD HAVE BEEN HARD FOR US - where as the high levels could roam free without having to use oils or spells that wear off randomly. It would have been FAR easier (and more courteous) for them to move....especially since WE WERE THERE FIRST....EXPing!!!

I'm sorry Jender but I did heal, I even healed you. I was under the impression it was a link. I even came to you guys because my party members thought it was a link. After this happened is when the nasty emotes started getting thrown around.

And I am sorry. I REALLY REALLY thought you guys just wanted us to camp down further. I had no idea they were pulling everything (and it was my understanding that this didn't happen until after the link incident).

I've never ever camped a coffer key there before. When I got a tell saying thank you for clearing out the room I relayed that to my party members and they said that it was getting cleared (they were all pissed by this time) and I did say let's go kill something else then (Skc can back me up here). Being a BLM I don't really pay attention to the number of mobs in an area or usually have anything to do with pulling. I didn't know we would cause so much competition since you guys were the only party there and when you asked me to move I really thought it was because you didn't want us camping on top of you. (and that was a misunderstanding on my part and for that I apologize)

However, when I suggested that we move to them was when I started getting slapped and pissed on so nobody felt like moving after that.

Like I said before a lot of things could've been done differently. I was really offended by Yomi's tell when she said we could coffer key hunt anytime. Um. No we can't. I spent 2 hours getting all that help together. Sidd has needed his af forever. He has a very crappy connection most of the time and d/c's a lot and last night he was actually having a good night.

I guess I am just pissed because of the nasty emotes and tells I got instead of people trying to work things out. If it had been my XP party instead of telling us to leave I would've just offered to let the person who needed the key join and lot for it in return for mobs being left for us to xp off of. But instead we were told to basically get the hell out and treated like high level assholes. Which really, really, pissed me off because since I have gotten post 50 I have spent large amounts of my in game time helping lower level people. Yet even though I was pissed I didn't slap anyone or piss on anyone or even send a nasty tell to anyone.

So yeah a misunderstanding turned into something ugly. Things could've been done differently, but there was rudeness on both sides.

Sorry, but you guys are both right and both wrong at the same time. This isn't exactly the same thing as farming in the dunes either, both groups were there for a legit reason.

One group was there to xp for their one night a week, I can understand this. The other group was there to get a coffer key, I understand this as well as it sometimes takes weeks to get help with coffer keys. Really either group could of moved, both seem stubborn. Sorry Jen (I have much love for ya) but the sneak/invis thing doesnt really hold water, they had mostly 60's so they woulda had to do it too. Seems like both groups let thier temper flare and need to chill.

Bolded text... that's exactly how I see it and how I think it should have been handled. I don't know these other people, I only know Yomiku, and I don't always agree with her, but I do agree with her in this situation. Had I been her, I'd have been pissed as hell also.

I will point one thing out. Common sense is: You do NOT go to Crawler's Nest unless you are skilled at outpulling other parties. In fact, don't go to Crawlers Nest i you don't like crowds at all. There are alternative locations to exp at, like for instance off bats in the dungeon under the San'dorian castle, where there is NO competition. Crawlers Nest is the place all the lazy people go because it's closest to Jeuno.
I don't know how much of a dent the CoP release put into it, but the level 50-75 exp zones are commonly conjested. To get that chain 5 you simply need more mobs than the camps can provide to 3 or more parties. I hate it when I'm camping in Onzozo and that 3rd or even 4th party shows up. Don't they know it's at their maximum? There are other places to go but they don't go there. But it's just part of the game.
The argument that exp is more important is dead wrong. Artifact Armor is more important than AF. It always will be.
Sadly: If you limit yourself to 1 night / week, you're going to have to deal with slow leveling. Things get clogged, specially in some of the high up areas. Learn to pull better or accept it.

It's cool AL but level 60+'s (and a few 75's) weren't getting the aggro that our level 50's were getting...not in our area of the CN anyway...and the thing is, we were exping, and YES coffers are important, but we were there FIRST.

Oh and the whole restaurant/table comparison isnt entirely accurate. It's more along the lines of them sitting at a table next to you and Hogging the waitresses time. No one "owns" an area. Sure a farmer would be rude, but they had a legit reason to be there. Change the situation a bit. Say a different group came down, an XP party with 2 rngs, blm, brd, Rdm, and nin and they just owned everything. Would you be so pissed then too?

I knew your emote was meant to be cute. I wasn't offended until Sneaky started in with me. It is a shame because something could've/should've been worked out but didn't because rudeness was being tossed around.

I was just sad too because as silly as it sounds I think of you guys as the "famous" ppl from QCDN. I haven't had a chance to really interact with you all in game and my first experience was not a good one.

And Alanon is right. All but one of my pt members needed sneak/invis as well. The levels in our pt were 75, 62, 62, 61, 56, and 53. Everything there still conned ep to me.
