I don't fucking care if...

but some people can't/won't play in parties for four hours at a time. Why, you might ask? Well, maybe they aren't having any fun because someone in the party is insisting that everything must be done just so with razor precision to ensure that the maximum amount of exp is gained in the minimum amount of time. It's fun when the exp flows freely, yes, but not when it's forced at the expense of a good time

This a common problem, when people start telling other people how to play it gets annoying, it's hard to offer suggestions without comming off as a jerk, casue well tone of voice isn't translated to text. I noticed that a lot fo times in pick up parties people dont' talk alot, they just do their job or bitch about other people, which is why staticing is godly, cause you get close to a group of people and its fun.

Which is better: maximum ammount of exp with jerks, or good exp with friends? well personally i'll take the latter, which might explain my slow lvling =P it's a game it should be fun.

If your sneaking onto the computer at 1am and you dad could come downstairs any second and boot you...

Well you shouldnt be on in the first place eh? Bad children. Bad. No cookies. You need to seriously think about your priorities.

I can understand the mom thing. If i was still living with my parents yes when they felt it was time for me to get off they would literally walk over to my computer and yank the plug out of the wall.

But come on kids, you know your parents. You know when they are tired or angry or just grumpy from something they are dealing with might be a better time to go do homework than to play a game they may not like you playing. Or at least not one where you interact with other real people.

It is 'just a game'. But MMO's arent a game that is played alone. Because of the dependancy on the party, losing even one member can hurt 5 other people. If you only have an hour before your scheduled bedtime and you know you can maybe get away with staying up another hour but your parents *can* shut you off, you shouldnt pt.

Reality takes precedence, of course it does. a ten min warning is fine in most cases especially if you find your own replacement or the pt is tired anyways. But reality takes precendence does NOT mean do you homework WHILE in a pt. or watch tv WHILE in a pt. or visit your relatives WHILE in a pt. if you want to say reality takes precedence then put the damn game down and deal with reality. If you know in advance a real life issue WILL come up don't pt. Its rude.

When someone leaves pt before we finish killing the 5th mob i feel like someone kicked the gamecube on the last level of zelda. I have to start over. Its rude. If they kicked it running to stop their kid bleeding then i don't give a shit about the game. Its just a game. But if they kicked it to go get drunk, yeah i get sorta pissed. If they find a replacement they tripped on the cord but the 'cube is still playing so its no big deal.

Sabia called me and said "Yo Bitch! lets go get food and hit the comic store!!"

Ok back on topic.

I have a suggestion, if there is a possibility that your mom or sister or who ever could tell you to get off in a moments notice, then simple please tell the party up that it is a possibility that it could happen. Then you gave them fair warning up front.

Yeah...that sounds about normal Pascal...allthough I usually use far more colourful language....

Yes! Thank you!

I usually do give warning. such as, "hey, I could get kicked off sometime soon, just warning you. I'll try to give a time if it comes up..." etc. what i can't stand is (and oh, i've acctually heard this)

"I have to go after a few battles... my kids crying about something."

Yes! Thank you!

Devi is a very wise person, we can all learn from them.

funnest time i've had in a while, killing orcs in ghelsba for three hours.

what could have made it better: an unorganized, NOT optimum pt made up of FRIENDS. ah... i remember the good old days of ghelsba, back at level 10 or something...
