I have a PL....

There is no such thing as regular party anymore lol there is always a pler around

2 of 3 pt always have pler :3

beside, solo self pl get stuff done at low level >.> don't need to get furstrated not getting invite for hours, and no complains about low exp due to level gap :p

I gotta agree with some of the posts here. I won't mind a PL in the lower levels just so I don't have to deal with the people in dunes or I just tend to solo. But usually when someone has to advertise, "Hay guyz! I got PL! Invite plz lololol" I tend to avoid them since they might be lacking in common sense and I'd prefer not to waste my time to find out.

My personal take on PLs. On lower levels, hells yeah. I hate pts in the Dunes all the way to Kazahm. Even into the areas in the 30ish range. But usually u figure ppl with PLs know how to do their job and may have other jobs leveled to say 75. Of course there could be the occasional rmt in disguise there.

I've had pts with plenty of PLs. And some I have actually put in my /seacom because some dam jobs are near impossible to get a friggin pt with . Am I being lazy with my job? I've got a couple jobs in the 75s and have a good idea how to play the. I'm not the king of all jobs, but I can use them effectively. Am I being an ass for putting that in my search comment? I don't know, but getting pts have been hard lately and the way SE makes solo'ing is near impossible unless ur maybe a bast or drg.

I really think "new" players should learn their jobs and to experience the maximum that they can do with their jobs. But a little help from a pl doesn't hurt though.

Just my opinion.

Not really great for newer players. But I enjoy them when lvling another 75 job. The grind isn't as enjoyable as it used to be. I am sure I am not alone with this view, but I just want to get to 75 faster and start using the job already.
Had a great PL static where I lvled WAR from the 40s to 75 in like a month. It wasn't all day exping, just a couple or so hrs a few times a week. If PL will increase my exp output I am all for it.

People learn bad habits being PL'd would you trust this peron to know their job well enough later on when they dont have access to a PL?

PL's aren't the only things giving people bad habits. Stupidity is the number one cause, and a powerlevel isn't the enabler, it's the IQ of the person. You don't need 75 levels to learn how to play this game, the NIN isn't even 37 yet so they don't have close to the full arsenal of what a NIN uses to tank. At <37 a powerlevel is a blessing to a party with only one NIN tanking.

In simpler terms, stfu.

QFT. Seriously.

PLers aren't the reason you suck. Please stop using the PWRLVLER card as a crutch. You did it in linkshell, you do it here.(you know exactly who i am talking to) Don't blame the pwerlvler for your inadequacies. I can guarantee that pre 37 you learn a small amount about your job, which is when MOST powerlvlers are used.

*(Edit)* You learn a small amount of your job, which is insignificant compared to the extent of learning you learn during the 70s.

So it is written, and so it shall be.

thank goodness stine knew to do that. :bb:

Hearing Chris talking about pld and my own experience with what curing too much can do helped. Plus I love to flash.

I hate when you get asked to pl people especially running through Kuftal Tunnel to do ZM stuff. >.> It's my belief that if you are 30+ you don't need a powerlvl. Although it is funny to see people ask Tristam to powerlvl them when he's DRK/RDM and has no healing magic skill. XD

I dunno it's more embarrasing when you have one at your 60-75camp...

You think some people be confident in their abilities but it's not smart to get your hopes up

NIN tank + dual boxed PL {No thanks}

On the other hand, I would love to watch that in action. From the outside.

I have an alt RDM that I used a few times pre-40ish to Haste my NIN and toss the occasional Silena or emergency Cure III. Was also nice for link control. Trying to do any more work than that would have been impossible, but it made my job a little more fun.

Is it person arrogance to want to do your job well and gain skills in it? Tanks are told "Dont Voke off the PL" Blm's are given free reign to nuke heavy, every melee weapon skills whenever they feel like it. Theres no co-ordination or thinking in a PL'd party just a mass of people doing things they wont be doing next time they dont have the added help.

People learn bad habits being PL'd would you trust this peron to know their job well enough later on when they dont have access to a PL?

I know I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill since it happens so much these days anyway.
Jamal already kind of covered this line of thinking, but I'll address it from another vein. Good hate control doesn't exist at low levels. Ninja flat out sucks before Utsusemi: Ni. Don't act like you're gaining really valuable experience when you have almost nothing to do your job properly. Most job-defining abilities/spells come in the 30's; before then you're no where close to that level of effectiveness. If you can blaze through those shit levels(especially 1-10, where you're not even partying) and get to a point where you can actually do your job properly all because of a PL, good for you.

As far as skills go, it's not like you can't get them a little later and you're also not going to be power leveled your entire career. Even if you're a tank, you're going to be trying to hold hate as long as you can until the PL pulls hate; and they don't even do that on a lot of fights. That really only pertains to actual skills in the game, in regards to learning how to play, this game is not remotely difficult to learn. As long as your head isn't up your ass and you can pay attention, you can do any job in the game better than at least half the people out there(who cannot do one or the other, sometimes both).

It is personal arrogance to try to deny a group a power level just because you personally don't like it. If you're against it, leave, but don't fuck over 5 other people just because you don't like power levels. Personally, I usually enjoy having a power level at low levels. I've leveled more than enough jobs to know what I'm doing and I have better things to do than to get shitty exp. A power leveler gets me through those crappy low levels faster, with much less hassle and expense on my part; I don't see any problem with it.

There's also nothing stopping a group from being power leveled and using strategy at the same time. Maybe you've only partied with brain dead idiots when you've been PL'd, but I've done skillchains + MB, had the tank voking the whole time, and had the blm's play intelligently all while under the watchful guidance of a 75 whm.

I partied with such a rdm, he was 18, and he cast protect on us every 5 minutes...

In the middle of party, after spamming protect, he sat down and rested. >_>;
He's either a bot, or he's just retarded, a PL has nothing to do with that.

That "new breed" has been in waves for years now. lol Sad but true. Well that and most mages coming up within the last year or so never partied in places like Labrynth of Onzozo or Den of Rancor so they're a bit stingy or slow on the silena/paralyna/stona. Those places were like boot camp; they made you good... but the expansions made a lot of the newer mages spoon-fed. :nono:

Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed XP'ing in those places when I was leveling WHM, I found it fun catching all the enfeebles and -na'ing them off as they were cast.

I agree with you completely. I had a static party through those places w/ a pld tank and I rather enjoyed it. Kept me on my toes.

I think there are not much to learn at low lvl, PLD cant do much hate keep due to lack of JA and MP and Enmity gears. NIN cant do much before Ni. DDs do the same thing as they do higher level. Also what they learn at lower level does not always useful at higher level such as in ToAU area.

Ya know, I hate to be mean, but I'm tired of holding back necessary commentary.

If you don't like how an individual plays on their own accord, don't fucking play with them. Nothing teaches someone better that an act is considered it's own ill accord than the silent treatment.

Fucking cry less, thank you.
