If you take your job to heart, you annoy me...

Seconded.

Not that this makes us part of that "exclusive club", but it does identify us. Us, the ones who've dedicated ourselves a LOT to get this job up. You can pretty much tell who's lvled bst and who hasn't (If they're good bsts or not!). It's just normal to have one job that suits you more in this game... No harm imo...

Thirded. bst to 75 is much more then seek pt and get xp, the reason I defend the job a lot is because most people down it due to the fact that we sometimes have the same camp.

If I love a job, care enough about it to research how best to do it, and put alot of time and effort into getting it the best gear I can, spend hours on end seeking for it or even soloing xp on it, then yes I'm going to defend it when some ignorant asshole starts talking shit.

Once someone takes a job past 37, and definitely once they get AF, they have every right to consider themselves to BE that job, and to identify with others of that job.

I don't really mind people like that... In your example he's just sticking up for himself, lol... If you love the job you play, that's good~ If you talk that way, it just shows you're having fun with it. It's not like he's saying "every other job is useless, except for mine." he's just saying "myself, and the other people who decided to level this job, are..." y'know?

Where you said "Guess what... nobody gives a shit. You aren't special... deal with it!" Yeah, okay >.>; I think the whole "we PLDs blah blah blah" thing is more showing the attitude of that player, who happens to be proud. Saying "nobody gives a shit" is just crazy, lol -__- Don't you have certain people who play certain jobs on your friendslist that play their jobs really well and you respect them, and their attitude toward their job? It's like saying "You're not different from the next WAR, you all have the same gear, play the same way, talk the same way, etc."

Look at your sig, dude... "Taking meat shield to the next level since 2004" It's subtle, but you're basically saying a similar thing to the whole "us PLDs" but you're saying "I'm better than THOSE PLDs" implying that you, yourself, are a special PLD. But you just said to everyone else "You play the same job, you're not special."

Think about it for a few. ;\

Popularity is not equal to quality.

Well, I would say: If it bothers you that much, walk away and let it be.
People are going to take pride in their characters and jobs regardless and I don't think they are wrong for being like that.

Heck, I've started as RDM and I'm going to remain as RDM until it gets me bored. If anyone tries to diss my job then I'm just going to think that they don't know what they are talking about and not even waste my breath on them. Some people just want to feel better about themselves by saying those kinds of things >.>
On the other hand, if someone does stick up for their job, wouldn't it tell you they like that job to the point where they are going to make an opposing point/statement?

Let them rant, let them try to make their point. You don't have to listen to whatever they are saying if you don't want to; it is your choice. And in the end, would it really matter?

...but meh this is basically what I wanted to say after just waking up lol.

Either way, its a rather stupid thing to get upset about. People say lolDRG all the time, and I can assure you people that play DRG will stick up for the job.

Iso and Uzor said it best after seeing Audino crank up those numbers on his drg I wont say loldrg again

In response to the initial post in this thread....

Sticking up for one's favorite job & taking it to heart is something I enjoy seeing. These type of people strive to be the best they can be & this is something we want. As for the fucktards that shit talk other people's jobs, or how well someone else plays their chosen job, these people well ya... are fucktards.

This is boring. Not worthy of the flameboard.

I am Tim. I play Paladin usually. It doesnt mean i am a Paladin, but rather it is my usual job of choice. I always play to the best of my ability, no matter what job im playing, and that is something i am proud of.

You arent a {Insert job here}, you just play it.

But it is the only Flameboard thread that has been posted in for the last 7 hours...so it must be doing something right...

At least i wasnt complaining about not getting a claim, or why certain jobs suck, or some noob/RMT/asshole. It could have been much worse.

It wasn't all that bad. There was some truth in it, as in not taking the game too seriously, but the point was kinda misguided. Why focus on the people defending their jobs when it'd be better to focus on the people bashing other jobs? After all, there would be no xPALADIN4LIFEx if there wasn't a SomeAssHat provoking him.
