Well apparently I take grudges to the grave. Had any trouble getting into any HNM LS lately Kon-buddy?
The point I'm trying to make is simple because as I can see you're easily confused. I've tried to 'fight the system' before in games like these and I always end up in one place, ban-land. What you are failing to realize is your actual options.
Option A: Go out in a blaze of MPK glory. A few hours of effort lost to a bunch of gilsellers who aren't worth the dirt on my shoes. Your account and hundreds of hours down the trash. Please take option A.
Option B: Try to fight them "inside the system." When you realize the system doesn't give a shit about you, you might resort to option C.
Option C: Quit FF. People will actually give a shit about this. Please take option C. If enough do... well, maybe S-E will put the grinder to them gil-sellers. Unfortunately looks like more people actually are buying gil than would quit as a result of nothing done. Hmmm... why is that? I'll call that Footnote A.
Option D: Accept there are gilsellers and buyers. Realize they don't really effect you unless they are MPKing you or Claim Stealing from you.(At which point you have my A-O-K to MPK the shit out of them. Realize they are not the cause of the problem.... we'll discuss that in foot note A.
Footnote A(rather large footnote): The problem is like a wart, and gilsellers are the scab above the surface. Forget the gilbuyer and seller's names and reputation for a moment, and imagine simply a person wanting an item... and paying someone in real life to log on their PC and while they're sleeping get it for them. Would this seem strange to you... or would this be "wronging" you?
I, myself, do not see the enjoyment in this. Someone playing the game for you, and part of the game, to me, is affording to do the things I do.
To others, some I know, the game is merely having fun. As many of you people comment, this game seems like a job to you sometimes. They buy gil. I know people who do, and I don't hate them for it. I dislike the system... NMs that place people in competition with each other... a ridiculous crafting system... essentially a huge barrier. I do not see gilsellers or buyers as making the game harder for me. I don't hoarde my gil and inflation usually in fact benefits me by making intelligent purchases. I see competitors as making the game harder for me. They are usually not gilsellers. If all NMs could be forcibly popped, if all guild shops were unaffected by campers... if S-E made enough actualy monsters for everyone, the game would simply put... be more fun. But as long as there's an unneeded challenge that forces the game to be all about PvP competition then there will be people who opt out of that part of the game and want to enjoy exp and quests and missions...
I don't like it but I accept the problem is deeper.
