Is raising prices of items that bad !?

I have zero interest in leveling smithing besides as a subcraft. When I'm crafting things at a loss to skillup, I'm not whining about how much it costs and then jack up the prices. I try to level intelligently so that I don't have to piss away millions of gil for a couple skillups because I choose to not level off expensive synths.

This is 100% greed.

Most of the big HQ synths have shit prices for their NQ's. NQ Amemet's are 3k compared to the almost 2 million HQ's, and the skin itself is 500k now. They don't jack up the price of NQ to 500k because they can't handle the loss, they deal with it. It sounds like you just can't HQ and want to stick it to everyone else because of that.

Again, no one is forcing you to make this synth. You're done leveling your craft, so why are you synthing something at such a loss? Usually when people get to high level in a craft, they know what to synth to make money. Although since you were given the character after smithing was already somewhat leveled, you might not know first hand what to make, but that's not really an excuse. Instead of gouging the prices for everyone else, why not synth something that will actually make you money?

Do you jack up the prices to cover your breaks too?

This is far from greed.

Ingredients: Copper Ingot, Steel Sheet, Darksteel Chain, Darksteel Sheet, Sheep Leather

Copper Ingot = 10-12 K: A stack or I could spend 10 mins makeing a stack and save a few K, This does not include the travel time to go to a guild or a store to get the ore, nor does it include the price of the crystals

Steel Sheet = 8-11 K: Same for the ignots alsoadding the price of fire crystals to sheet the thing an additionl 5-6 K if I get the ingot

Darksteel Chain = 80-90 K: It takes 2 darksteel ingots to make this and no one makes and seels them really because they sell so slow and would be a loos to brek even

Darksteel Sheet = 40-45 K: could go an make it crom an ingot but it's the same price, or I could make the ingot but again this add another 5-6 K of crystaks to my orice

Sheep Leather 8-11 K: could go make or save time and buy it

Now lets add all this up.
10-12 K
8-11 K
80-90 K
40-45 K
8-11 K
Equals
146-169 K is what it ccosts me per Celata

Am I still Goudgeing? I'm still loosing money just not 120 K + like I was

You're telling me that you need a stack of copper ingots to make 1 Celata?
And that 1 Sheep Leather is costing you 8k minimum?
Or it takes you 4-5k of crystals to make 1 iron sheet from ingots?

It's clearly not costing you that per synth, and you're only jacking the price so you can justify to yourself the cost of giving your friends free +1's

Well I think Yoshi is right here, this is how crafting and the game works. I'm pretty sure there's no way besides smithing to get a Celata, and ppl use this product, quite often. So he deserves to AT LEAST break even for his service to Quetzalcoatl. In my opinion these should be 200k+.

Okay lets adjust the prices.

It costs 1-2 K for a single copper ingot from the Ah but very few are ever in stock so I have to buy stacks, and as for buying stacks of crystals, why pay 1K or more for s singal one when I can buy a whole stack for just a bit more.
Also where did I metion iron ingots.

I'm not giveing my friends free +1's I am selling them to them. However
I find it extreemly anoying you seem to think I need to loose money to make these +1's

Are you interested in finding out how much the benevolant Yoshinder is charging for the +1s (He's more than +11 over the cap, and it's the +1s he's aiming for or he wouldn't be doing the synth)?

I'm curious about how much of a loss he's taking...

If you don't like it don't buy it!

I Synthed everything that was the least exspensive thing possable.

Your assumtions that I'm symply doing this just to piss everyone off is astoundingly stupid.

I know what to make. So if I raised the price of the Hauby because the price of the ingot went up wich it has! (note: due to HNM LS like the ones you belong to selling it at ever increesing prices) I'm sure you'd call me greedy too! Or would you not because it's a more exspensive item with more exspensive ingreediants. Despite it has a lower synth skill than the item in question!

There is absolutely no diffrence between the 2 examples, other than you don't think I should have the ability to make money or break even.

In short if you don't like it don't buy it!

I'm chargeing less than what it costs to make, so don't lecture me!

How about you tell us how much you're selling the +1s for and let's see how much trouble you're having breaking even?

And it's costing you 122k for the NQ, and you're selling for 130k... You're not even taking a loss on your failures!

Check the ingreediants on jeuno AH the current price is what it costs me to make them, do the math yourself since you have no confidence in mine.

I'm chargeing my friend 400 K each for the +1's

Ahah, so you think that the rest of the population should foot the bill so that you can give your friend a discount item....

Please make sure your friend knows that the gift is from the people of Quetz, and you're just using him to make a profit.

And the math is your's, not mine.... It adds up to profit for you on NQs...

2 K copper ingot

90 K darksteel chain

45 K darksteel sheet

8 K stell sheet

4 K sheep leather

1 K 1 earth crystal

Equals 150 K

Those are Prices I pulled of the Auction house in jeuno just this very second!

not loosing money my ass!

Look again.

You changed your values. You listed the price ranges for the stacks of materials and they were 144k-149k, now you've changed the prices so that with looking to single items(instead of a stack of leather it's now just one) it's 150k. When you keep editing the numbers to help you out it tends to ruin your credibility.

You just don't have the balls to take risks like the real crafters, I'm sorry. If you knew what to make for money, you'd make that and stop whining about this one synth that you are voluntarily doing. You're ignoring this whole point so I bolded it. You don't like the established profit from this synth given the HQ potential, don't do the synth, just that simple. There's no reason except your own greed that you'd want to stick it to the consumer like that.

You keep saying if I don't like it, don't buy them; which is only a cop out and trying to dodge around instead of bothering with any kind of defense. I'm not going to buy one because I don't have a job that can use one. That doesn't mean that I don't care about you jacking up prices because you can't handle any kind of risk.

alot of skill up and big money synths are big losses on the NQ to make it harder for people to skill up and get to the lvls where they become competition for yourself. So while you might lose money on the NQ, the more lvl 100 smithers there are the number of people to fuck up your prices increases. I see all these clothcrafters on the site bitch about how many there are now, the same thing can happen to smithing if the path to 100 becomes easier.

You didn't seem to like the numbers I gave you for the cost of materials based on what it cost for stacks of materials per item per sytnth so I gave you the price of singels, take your pick.

I'd like to know what your craft is and what lvl it is.

You assume this is my only synth for source of income! Your soo off base it's sad! I synth many many things including cursed gear and haubys.

Also you seem to have it in your head that I should not be able to sell anything for what I want despite the fact I have sacrificed over 50 million to get to this point. I'm selling things for what they cost to make. If you don't like it go elsewhere or make your own! I'm not forcing anyone to buy my stuff, nor is anyone forcing me to synth this I'm synthing this of my own free will, so I can help out friends and other people who understand things should be sold for what they cost to make!

Your soo quick to jump up my ass and call me greedy despite the fact I have prooven I'm still loosing money.
I'll be sure to return the favor next time you sell anything for more than the curent price of the auction house.

This is irrelivant my account exspires at the end of the month.

Based on the original numbers, It looks more like a 120k-130k-ish synth than your 150k estimates.

Since you're curious, My main craft is Woodworking and it's at 69 at the moment. Now, i'm sure there's going to be the part about calling me a crafting noob and how my craft is "so much easier and cheaper" than your own. When the reality is that I'm crafting slowly, partially due to money and partially due to the availablilty of materials. I've been leveling woodworking since I started this game, because I wanted to be a rng in the worst way when I first started. I've been leveling it slowly along with my subcrafts and I've also had enough GP for both +skill items the second I hit the level able to buy them.

I'm not assuming this is your only source of income, but this is the only one you're complaining about; anything else is irelevant. As I said before, if you don't like the profit/risk potential of this synth, just do another. You still have YET to answer why because you're doing a voluntary synth, one which you're just now admitting isn't the only thing you do for money, gives you the right to inflate the price to consumers by 1200%. You obviously don't like how much money you make off an NQ, so make something else with a better profit/risk ratio like everyone who understands how to make money does.

Finally, as for you wanting to bring this up the next time i over price something at the AH. Have fun waiting. I never overprice anything, I always undercut a little to help my stuff sell faster.

In the end there nothing you can do to stop Yosh from jacking up prices, if people are willing to buy, then so be it. TBH I think he’s smart why should he take a huge loss to make something? A Classic example is the Ice staff, the ores are like 400+ and yet the staff sells for 25k I don’t know how that happed, but if I made Ice staff id surely jack them up. In the end the prices on the AH is set buy the buyers not Yosh.

Nah, it's not good FB material (yet). It's an argument, not all arguments end up on the FB, only the one's where people get out of line and get all personal and nasty. So far things seem to have been going relativly good.

To me, this was the most amusing part about this post:
