Istory server? Hop in! There is no "Official" QCDN server

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Ul'dah definitely my favorite of the cities so far. Then again, anything is better than Limsa Lominsa. It is the Windurst of Eorzea. ><

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Anyone else have problems logging in on the Login part? I put my info in but it doesn't load or anything afterward.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

uh nope, no problems :/

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I love Ul'dah :) I like the lay out of the city and how open the beginning zone is.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Tried both and love both. I think I might just do Gridania but the bugs are still really bugging me. Still not always getting skill points off mobs and sometimes it won't always let me hit a mob and says cannot do the action I want.

That's my only issue right now, other then that everything seems great. Lots of improvments have been made.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I have a general question: Are most people from Quetz staying on Lindblum on release or will most of everyone kinda venture out alone like you did on FFXI Day 1? I think both are good ideas: Play with your friends while making new ones or start out fresh like before and make all new friends?

The only thing is what happens with QCDN FFXI vets that want to plan things? There's only a max of 20 of us replying on here anyway.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Ultimately I wouldn't worry about it overmuch until the final list of launch servers shows up and we have an idea of what's going to be available, and where people want to go.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

None of my friends in real life are going to be playing, at least until the PS3 version comes out, so I'll probably pick the server that will allow me to see the most familiar faces.

After the quest line "The Color of Sin" (cool cutsceens) is finished, is there another questline in Gridania or am I just supposed to grind levels from here on out?

Hey guys! Just hopped on this world if anyone wants to explore! Character: Sukoshi Kage on Ul'dah

If someone engages a guildleve monster but doesn't defeat it for some reason, it will stay visible to the players nearby. Being that they're still guildleve mobs, they're not valid targets for other players not in the party of the guildleve holder. I think this is what you're experiencing.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I really hope SE fixes the lag, mainly in the Gridania area. It's not as bad in Ul'Dah. Was so much smoother (battle-wise) in beta 3. But a like some of the changes though! Menu is faster, you can check people, and have a friend list (altho odd the person doesn't have to accept you, lol).

Btw, has anyone found a route from Ul'Dah or Gridania to Limsa Lominsa?

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Anyone having trouble with the game? I had an update and now it's saying lobby server returning a timeout error.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

The servers are not supposed to be up until another 7 minutes, but I think they might be up now. I'm doing the update so I'm not sure yet.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

Hi all! Probably no one remembers me, but I used to play on Quetz 2 years ago before quitting FFXI. I could not resist the new game and started the beta today. I really like the new game.

I am on Lindblum too, name is Galadrios Deprofundis, hit me up if you want to try some party quests :)

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I just got in game. If you see a cat by the name of Totsugeki Loveheart that'll be me bumbling around trying to figure things out.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I'd be on if the downloader would stop timing out at 99.3%...

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

my patch is timed out at 94% XD

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

This is for windows 7. The path will be a little different for different operating systems but the theory is the same.

Open the FFXIV updater then go to:

C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

Open up the file that is trying to be updated with a bittorrent client like BitTorrent 7.0 or Utorrent.

Make sure the location the file is being saved to is:

C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta

Close the FFXIV updater.

Let the file complete downloading through the Bittorrent client. Shut down the client. Open up FFXIV updater and let it install the new file. It will be much quicker. I was done downloading today's patch in less than a minute.

Re: Lindblum server QCDN? Hop in!

I remember this with XI as well. Why is it that these updates usually stop or time out in the 90% completion zone? Seems to always happen. 94.8% myself
