Hands Fire the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".
The "Boy Who Cried Wolf" is a story based upon the principle that someone who constantly lies won't be believed when it's important. You can say I have a disposition to dislike the Xbox 360 as a gaming console, it's however quite different to say I constantly spread actual lies. I complain about certain features of the 360, and we debate certain validity of different sources, but I don't lie to support my position, nor does anyone here say any actual lies to bash the PS3.
Even if you had a valid point here, no one cares. At all. You have virtually no credibility here, especially on the 360 boards.
Maybe you don't care? Seems to me like you have a problem listening to the opinion of someone who doesn't share your tastes. To each their own, just because someone's an Xbox fan doesn't mean I assume they are liars.
Posting this kinda crap here is like reading the sports papers. "Steroid use taints Bonds' record". That article is clearly going to be biased.
Reality is biased against Microsoft?
And the fire apparently started on the wrong end of things. MS acknowledged the faulty cords could cause a fire on the console end of things. The fire, from what I've read, started from the wall socket side. Red flag #1
Where did you read this?
The family is suing 3 corporations. Wal-Mart, Microsoft, and a power supply manufacturer. MS and the PSU manufacturer are reasonable, but Wal-Mart is a bit of a stretch. Red flag #2
I assume it was their lawyer's decision. It was a bad one too, Walmart is highly litigious and never settles.
The family is suing 2 large corporations, and presumably a third. Yet they're only claiming $25,000 in damages. When it's been a baby that died. Probably the most sympathy generating living thing that could die in an accident. I mean, didn't the lady who spilled coffee on herself, or the guy who caught his junk in a toilet seat sue for more? Red flag #3
The reason they only claimed $25,000 was to keep the case out of federal court. Wal-Mart has cited the familiy's damages at $75,000. Which would take it to federal court. When the defendant of your lawsuit is a huge company, and says your damages are 300% of what you claimed, that generally spells bad things for you. Red flag #4
You'll need to cite this as well as explain how this throws any doubt on the case. The amount being sued for doesn't seem to have any bearing unless it's on the other side, and they're suing for far more than reasonable.
The lawsuit names an Xbox 360 as the culprit. Despite the fact that the console wasn't released until around 6 months after the fire. Red flag #5
It's a strange thing to be nit-picking. We all know the Xbox 360 wasn't responsible, including the family who owned the Xbox. It was obviously a mistake on the part of their lawyer naming the wrong system on their paperwork, does it really matter?
And what's really sad about this whole affair, aside from the baby dying of course, is that you're using it to fuel your own anti-xbox agenda.
What's sad is that in order to protect your own agenda you feel compelled to either defend Microsoft or draw the issue away from said baby.
You're not fooling anyone, and you're not being clever. "I know! Instead of saying what I'm really doing, I'll act like the exact opposite. That'll work for sure! Hyuk hyuk!" If you had said something like "These past however many years, I've trolled these boards, played devil's advocate, and been a general jackass for no reason, but seriously read and think about it", it might've carried a little weight. Saying it like you did, "You fucking fucker! How fucking dare you fucking suggest I would use this fucking tragedy for my own fucking alleged anti-xbox fucking agenda? You fucking sicken me. You fucking fucked-up fucker", is just as bad as coming out and saying it. Worse, actually. It's like hiding an elephant behind a blade of grass. You're insulting our intelligence.
I don't pretend to be what I'm not. I never claimed to be impartial. I'm not going to lie and say that I'm being impartial now as you suggest I do. The fact that you're such a god damn pussy that you can't even express your own side without resorting to some crutch like claiming I'm here to "troll," or I'm some big bad internet villain is sickening.
I don't play devils advocate. I am simply not interested in presenting my beliefs if they are going to be in the majority. It's pointless and boring for example to discuss why I think marijuana should be legalized at a message board for pot smokers. My beliefs are my beliefs because it's how I feel, and no other reason. They don't change based on circumstance and I don't shy away when they're unpopular, even at the risk of being called a troll by some dumbass such as yourself.
Anyhoo, the lawsuit is full of holes, and won't hold up to scrutiny, but then again, that's most of what Fire posts anyway.
The only thing full of holes is your stupid ass argument. You must have felt pretty clever though when you typed it up, too bad your biggest mistake was clicking that submit button. Next time save us both the trouble and stick your foot up your own ass instead of making me do it.
