Today I witnessed something I never thought I would see...a RDM/BLM solo Faust with relative ease. The RDM's name was Thamu and he/she was definitely RDM/BLM because I asked and she showed me as well.
I wasn't there for the initial claim but she equipped Powder Boots apparently because she also showed those to me and they had 19/20 charges on them. By the time I got to the Faust floor she already had him down to about 67% and within the next 20 minutes he was dead.
Now I don't know exactly what spells she was casting, but obviously she was DoTing the hell out of him but here's where it gets weird. She was standing on the teleporter that takes you up to the Ullikummi floor, at the very back of the telepad. Faust was on the ground running a semi-circle around the telepad. I know what you're thinking...he should've run up the steps and Typhooned the hell out of her, but he didn't. Faust would start to run (from left to right face the telepad steps) around the back of the telepad. The RDM would then take 2-3 steps in one direction and Faust would reverse course and move towards the steps. The RDM would then take 2-3 steps back and Faust would change direction again, this time moving away from the steps and back around to the back of the telepad. On a couple of occasions Faust made it 1/2 way to 2/3 of the way up the stairs, only to turn around go right back down them and move around towards the back. This process was repeated over and over again until Faust was finally dead. I don't think the RDM used Convert one time and I never saw her HP drop below 80%. There were a couple of occasions where Faust would be close to the telepad and could hit her with Typhoon, but other than those rare instances she took no ohter damage.
Now when we first arrived on the scene it seemed pretty odd and suspicious to us so a couple of called a GM, who apparently continued to watch the fight after we placed our calls. The GM's response that the developmental team did not consider this a cheat or hack of any kind so until they did it was considered a legit tactic. I have to admit, it was pretty disheartening to have 18 people just standing there watch 1 person kill an NM that you wouldn't think is of the solo variety.
