JP White Mages

Any possibly it wasnt JP? How do youn know when your dead? Did you /sea all his name after you HP?

There was a point a while back where the JP WHMs in my parties just went AFK for a long time without saying anything. I think it was like, 3 parties in a row. I don't remember what I was leveling up, but I was in the Crawlers' Nest.

is it just me, or do the majority of JP white mages either suck, leave without notice, or just fuck around and watch you die, then not raise you?
I was out playing with Blm, seeing what I could do on it.. poked at a Tough Tabar, sleep nuke technique.. was going great till a bind lasted about 1 second and it.... out of nowhere.. double attack'd me, first time in the HUNDRED's I have fought.. so I die (yay) and this asshole Whm just watches, walks away, casts haste/protect III on himself, then runs off again..
Is it REALLY out of your way to cast Raise? Total disgrace to Whm if I ever saw one.
I have only once in my life ignored a dead body because the person was absolute and utter scum.. I even have Chainspell Raise'd full parties.. This is bullshit.

No, not ALL JP WHM so shove that "stereotype" crap.. This is a GOOD DEAL of them.. Some are great, but lately I am close to popping up NA ONLY in my comment.

Was there not a flame not to long about about whm not helping outside of pt?

Damn i wish i could find it but i don't have to much time i'm going back to work now!!!!!

Did you even ask for help or you though they would help and didn't have anything todo at the time?

I could only see them not raising you possibly if the surrounding area looked dangerous, like in Sky with a bunch of magic aggro mobs everywhere, since that takes a lot of skill and risk in raising.

Other than that, it should be a kind thing to raise someone who died instead of just watching for your own entertainment. Then again, this whm could be stuck up and looked down upon you as a blm that went to solo a T mob, so in his opinion thought you as a noob and walked away. Yet you got the unlucky chance of getting double-attacked, these things can happen to us all and it would be great if everyone in the game respected one another.

Even the noobest noobs deserve a little respect..

It's not just "raisers" that are gits sometimes, once I was off to Gustav to level RDM with Padington and some others. I got a shout from a Dunes pt asking if i'd raise them. When I finally got there they'd got another raise off someone and didn't tell me because "they thought it'd be funny to waste my pt's time" ever since then I wont raise anyone unless I can see them, unless they are friends or ls mates of course.

So.... you want us to shove that "stereotype" crap? Then why didn't you make this title "this one JP WHM..." instead of "JP WHMs"?? Plus, I have to agree with Teppo. How did you know they were JP?

I'd also agree with some other posters about how if you wanted to go solo Tough mobs, you should have definitely come prepared. Stuff like bind lasting for 1 second and then getting beaten to death is NEVER out of the question. Things happen. You deal with it. You may have to HP, lose some EXP...but it's not the end of the world. You can easily get that lost EXP back.

Sure it may be nice if the WHM raised you...but you can never expect everyone to stop what they're doing just for you. This world does not revolve around you. Maybe they were in a hurry to do something? Who knows? Do you know? Were they ACTUALLY standing there watching you die? Or are you just mistaken? There are people who just have distorted thoughts, such as perhaps the WHM was off to do something... maybe stopped running for a bit to do something in real life..then went on their way and perhaps missed your death somehow. And then you distort a simple action as that as them snickering at you and being all malicious by not helping you out. I wasn't there, so I wouldn't know what went on. But you can never rule out such a possibility...

Usually i have had some good exp with JP players in a party. but that streak ended the other day. I was in a party with a JP whm, nin, and sam. the whm was wearing lvl 10 gear at lvl 29. the sam and nin were both wearing chainmail.... i coulda understood but both were rank 7. but the worst part was the nin never voked and used utsusemi hardly ever. I know this cuz i was playing mnk and was religiously watching the chat log for when the bugger would do his bomb toss. for the first 5 fights the nin never cast utsusemi. the whm was equally even worse i was getting cure 2's during a fight when i was only missing like 20 to 30 hp and wasn't getting attacked. It pretty much ended up being me and a LS friend tanking these mobs and were just mnk and sam. the only thing the other sam was doing was he kept voking and he was only wearing chainmail. but it just amazed me at how little some people learn about how a job is played.

you'll get warned or temp banned if you put NA ONLY in your comment, I have been before.

wow....

And to the idiots saying "one" learn to fucking READ I said this is a STANDARD PRACTICE anymore.. and yes, I did /sea all.. I wanted to see wtf this guy walked by.. I was 100% unlucky it broke bind and sleep and double attacked me before I could re-sleep it.

I don't use reraise, I don't mind HPing generally.. fuck though, if you see someone dead, you raise them.. it's common courtesy like seeing someone with a flat-tire.

My point is I have never had an NA whm just leave, go away and end up dcing an hour after we noticed and kicked them from PT.. replace themself with a gimp subbed BLM.. spam nothing but Cure IV in CRAWLER'S NEST durign FLIES -.-;

My point is there seems to be some idiot trend. This is not "one" crappy ass WhM asshole. This is a group of people who just plain suck at whm, and happen to be JP.

As I said, I have met some awesoe JP players and some I talk to infrequently (time zone diff) my point is the recent ineptitude. If it was an NA, I'd have singularly flamed the guy. It was'n't, it was yet ANOTHER crappy JP whm. This board is meant, obviously, to vent frustration. If it bugs you, get the fuck out and read care-bears or something. I was displeased in the actions of a self-absorbed asshole.

lol me and callum had a party in bibki once war war war whm brd rdm
the rdm was asleep we did not care had no idea who he was not on FL nothing went for 2hrs to get them there lv, they lved we kicked them. Agro link aoe mobs from gob rdm dies de lvs :P
just anoter story on AFKers

But wait... Did you /tell them and asked if they could raise you? Like you said, they aren't obligated to. SUre it may be nice of them, but like I said, perhaps they were busy and in a hurry? Perhaps you just interpretted their actions worng.

Maybe there is a trend in bad japanese white mages... Do you see a trend in bad white mages in general? What about other jobs?

I like how you always resort to cussing when people point things out to you, and cant' seem to deal with it.

I'm a whm and out of respect i raise dead people, but sometimes i /tell whoever if they need a raise cause i don't know if they got one coming for them or not, You really can't flame a whm cause they run by you cause you dead you A.don't know if there rushing to help out there pt or friends or B.cause you failed to ask them on there way through.....

I So wish i could find the damn flame just like this topic now!!?!?!? O.o

I was just going to post this, Mr. Tuna. Yes, I did flame Thefonz but I apologized later within the thread. My anger was unfounded and childish, and I don't think anything less of him today (hope he feels the same way).

At the topic at hand. There are some people who are too busy to stop and raise. Irregardless, because of my flame (my rather stupid flame) I learned that it's better to ask a person for a raise than just assume they will help. They may think that you're going to get an R3 from a WHM in your LS. Or you already have help in the way. Or you have re-raise up and you're just waiting for aggro-able mobs to move away.

While it is nice for someone to come and raise you, even though it's completely out of the way and they don't know you, you can't expect it to happen. Player morals vary from person to person. Unfortunately, the 'random-acts-of-kindness', just like in real life, are completely random and will jump out at you. Depend on your friends, first and foremost.

As for the blanket statement on Japanese players. I don't feel this is actually a problem. From my travels I've encountered more than enough JP players and found them to be enjoyable company and dedicated members of the party/alliance/whatever I was doing. However, I'm sure they have their share of 13 year olds that play the game and don't think twice about stealing an NM or whatever 13 year olds that play this game do. I found that the translator, while leaving something to be desired, works well. I also use a printed version of Nihongo Guide to try and communicate with them. It's kind and respectable to speak to someone in their own language. As SE said, we are all guests on the servers. We should try to behave like guests.

Consider this: Final Fantasy XI is an Massive Multiplayer Online RPG. You're going to meet your fair share of assholes, greedy buttmunches, and people that will MPK you without hesitation (though not so much anymore, MPK patch and all). It's the people that stand by you through thick and thin, help with your missions, and have somewhat of a lasting impact on your time spent in FFXI that really matter. People come to this RPG with from all places, and although we can't enforce a standard for playing the game, we can offer tips to the lower levels and hopefully raise (and I use raise lightly here) them to be better players in the long run.

I'm sorry, but this is one of the stupidest reasons to flame someone about.
Its not other people's duty to raise someone they don't know, maybe he was busy. Yes the considerate thing to do would be to raise you, but he didn't do anything wrong by not raising you.

Your fault for dying. Next time either use a RR item when you solo or don't bitch when you die. It isn't their fault that you were unprepared and they have zero obligation to raise you when you die from your own mistakes.

Wow, how anal can you be? Death is something that can happen in any situation.

I dont care if your whole party is prepared a week ahead of time. Something could (and most likely will) happen that causes someone to die.

Soloing makes it even harder. You dont have your healer backing you up, your tank doing his job or the nuker blasting away.

Your alone, which means, even if you are prepared to the best of your ability, there are factors that can throw off the whole equation.

Aggro is a prime example. Healing potency is another. Monster ablilities such as poison or stun at inoppertune times. This is all factors that can lead to death, regardless of how prepared you are.

Agreed. Raise is not a necessity. Player deaths happen. That is what homepoints are for. If you just expected a raise each time you died, then your either

A)Retarded
B)Lazy
C)Pathetic

Some people can't afford RR gear, or have high enough job levels to use it.

If I were a WHM, id leave ppl dead just so they learn to stop depending on WHM as Necromancers.

So we are on the topic about whm's "raiseing" dead ppl what about the hella /sh in jeuno for teley's i mean you i will teley anyone around but when the /sh can i get a goddamn tele or something around that, that really pisses me off as a whm damn don't they sell tele rings last time i looked they did

I guess it all comes down to how polite the player is when asking. I always include the word please and say thank you, regardless of wheter they say yes or no. Its proper etiquett.

Ok, so you say everyone should have RR gear.....even the ones who cant afford it or cant even use it due to level restrictions. Yea, that makes sense.
