Wow my quoting is attrocious at best lol....good luck to all who read my replies above.

You whacky kids and computers nowadays =P

Gotta start using that preview button.

I don't get it. The only skill chain you actually do all the time till 60ish is distortion which even you 5 old year kid can remember. The only time you need to remember any sort of combination is when you cannot perform that. 65+ is always about light or dark, combined with a mixture of ditortion and fusion depending on what you fight. Really half of your skillchain will not get in use till they are forced to. Like how many times have you done gravitation? Almost never except skill up parties. SO if you cannot remember just a couple of combinations, you need reading and listening comprehention checked. Which uh, starts from 1st grade if I recall.

Agreed. Here's how it goes. Thf uses SATA, thf pulls, sam vokes, pld lines up, THF Attacks, Blm and rdm debuff, Sam uses meditate then solos or chains with PLD, If so blm and rdm burst. Sam Again uses tachi enpi, THF uses SATA viper bite. BLM and RDM MB.

There's the story of your life Duffman. EXPing gets very reaptive until you can pull of better chains, such as lLV3. Every now and then you might get another Setup like I did today In kuftal. NIN,THF,RNG,me(SAM),WHM,RDM.
In that party setup I would voke, setup SATA, Chain with RNG or NIN, mostly RNG. Without BLM we were hitting Lv5 Exp's chains ALL the time. So yeah when you play SAM it's all about knowing the goddamn SC. Until LV65, it's either open distorion, close distorion.

Btw, because of running on low funds, I did not buy any potions? Guess what happened?

There are no HNM is your newbster's fest, Oh I'm sorry, "Crawlers Nest" So your in for a world of shock soon boy.

And vang If I could rate up posts here I would rate you up. LMFAO

One minor point on this: if the party is so crappy, are you willing to entrust the crappy mages to keep your sneak/invis up if needed?

Yeah, a lot of the time you can avoid aggro by just taking your time or going around it, but I'd just as soon use a pot of silent oil and run past the mofo than sit around and wait. I'm not very patient, what can I say.

Mobs that aggro to magic are another good reason to carry oils/powders. Even if you're a mage.

Other things to carry: antidotes (these are not expensive), but they'll save your ass in a pinch--say you're melee and poisoned and mage out of MP, or you're mage, out of MP, and cannot rest because of poison. And echo drops--sweet Jebus how I love them echo drops. Anyone casting magic/ninjutsu should have some. I forget how much they cost.

This is not to say people never run out or forget or whatever, but I can't really see a good reason to not try to have some on you as a backup.

...And to add my own pet peeve to the list: get your fucking CN's map, you lazy bastards!

As far as I know, none of you have ever partied with me.
So you have no clue what I do and what I do not know.

Vang, It's really nice of you to put words in my mouth and
make so many conclusions about someone you do not know.
Sure, I've never been to those high-level places yet.
I don't know if you or the rest of you can even read but

I HAVE AGREED to your original post many times.
I stated: Yes, I forget to bring them. (I think you are
right, you just approache the subject EXTREMELY
abrasively. Now how many melee are going to
listen or even post after reading your title? As
you see, not many. All you have are mage-types
saying "Hear Hear - yeah, fuck the melee" Has
it ever occured to you that forgetting to bring these
things DOESN'T mean they suck once they get to
the camp? How about this: As a melee, we tend
to not think along the lines of magic and potion.
In that case, yeah prod us a little in the forum so
we can help out. You won't get far with your attitude.
...at least not with me, and I do believe that I am
your target audience. Once again good job dipshit.

I stated: but don't want to waste them on a POTENTALLY
crappy party. (forever who the fuck said 'if they
suck, then leave'. Well, RIGHT! dumbfuck. I will.
the problem is that you don't know they suck until
AFTER you bought all that shit and traveld. Good
job fucking genius.)

What is implied is that I only remember to bring them to more important
things like prom. runs or quests/missions. One can spend a pretty penny
just gearing up for that. I do remember all the poisons, aulaits, x-pots, oils and powders. etc. What I don't remember to do is gear up like that
for a regular xp party.

Just because you are higher level then me doesn't give you the right
to be an asshole to me or everyone under your blanket statement. Once
again you and most of the posters in here can't read my posts. You are
so emotional that you SKIM and lose some issues. On top of that, you
make ASSUMPTIONS and put words in my mouth that are not true.
So, until you party with me or even pass me in the streets you can
only judge by what you read here.

So does this post have a point other than you just feel like whining a bit?
Or would you like me to be influenced and go buy the oils and powders.
And what is with some of the posters here? Some of you have never
played melee? (closet melee?) This didn't piss you off?

in traveling to the Rumble Room on my own. I have pulled in many
dangerous places for hours on end without links (pops excluded). Since
you are also a RNG then I don't need to tell you much more about it.
You already know.

Getting to the rumbler room w/o sneak/invis really isnt that difficult. Wait till you have to get to cape terrigan. If you can get there w/o one sneak, THEN I will be impressed. I love going through that tunnel and have a melee stop right next to an air elemental and start yelling that their sneak is wearing.

No, since I don't consider myself a "retard melee." 8)

[I am not implying you're a retard. I'm being a smartass.]

Yes. When I get there and forget, I will be thinking "Oh crap, help"
How many times to I need to say that Vang has a valid point. YES
for the fucking love of god already, I forget. For myself, I don't play
any mage types other than a supportive WHM for my BST. Given that,
I don't readily remember to bring things like oils and powders. Those
items are potion equivalent of mage spells. As a melee, I don't tend
to think along those lines.

So it's a sore spot with mages. I really do understand and get it ok?
I beleive i've said this before (scroll up or go back a page). I said
that vang has a point and it's great. PROD US Melee a bit, we can
understand. The problem is that I am in Vang's target audience and
am the only one in his target that is actually responding. I don't think
that he is going to sway very many people with his attitude. Most
melee probably read the title and just moved on.

"cough.. wait til you get to uber-level-such-and-such" Yeah, I get it.
You are probably in the end-game. Big whoop. I'm speaking from
experience with zones that I know. Once I get to "almighty zone of death"
then maybe I won't forget so much because I'll be like "Damn, It's tough
to wander through there.

and you are thinking like a mage. (it's ok)
air elementals just do not freak me out. (pssst. they aggro magic.)

What was meant is if you're caught in the middle of a cave full of Sound aggro, parked right next to an Elemental, and expect a WHM or RDM to recast Sneak over you and get raped by the Elemental, you'll be sorry you didn't bring any Silent Oils.

Only dumb asses RELY on the mages to hook them up.
You can't expect the mages to wipe your butt for you.
There will be situations where you'll end up screwed if you don't have the right supplies.
Silent oils are there for a reason.

I make my bed. I lie in it. I'm happy knowing that if something happens to me, it's only my fault or just bad luck. I can't stand seeing people blame others for catching aggro. That just makes no sense.

Duffman said:

Exactly. psst, I cant recast sneak on your dumbass because there's an air elemental there. Thanks for proving the point of the thread in one sentence while *attempting* to be condescending towards me.

you are thinking like a melee (it's ok)
air elementals freak me out when I have to cast sneak on melee who didn't bring oils. (pssst sneak IS magic)

Well.. i dont have a printer.. and neither do my roomates, or id get a SC chart printed out for easy access. All I have to use right now is the SC chart that's listed in the Brady Games guide >< but ya know what.. it works, for now atleast. Always a good bit of looking at it to figure out what the hell I can do. I do need to get a different chart though, as this one doesnt even have a lot of the higher level weapon skills listed in it.

*sigh* I wish I had a printer.. but I A) Don't have any place on my desk to put it right now and B) don't have the money to spend on a good printer (because if I do get one.. its gonna be printer/scanner/copier). *sigh* I do need to get one though.

As for the Silent Oils/Prism Powder bit... And that goes to all players, melee/mages/pullers and n00bs/average/experienced.

Have them in inventory. If the party's WHM is willing to do Sneaks and Invisibles, then good for you! But forcing a WHM to run all the way from the secret room to the Nest's entrance, sneak a new arrival past a Soldier Crawler train, then all the way back down might not be demanding, but it's a trip that can be avoided for less than the price of a Jeuno chocobo. You did use a Jeuno chocobo at 600-800 Gil to get to the Nest, didn't you?

But pleaaaaaaase, don't go about thinking having one of them is enough. If you're down to your last three, buy another stack, and leave those three left-overs in your mog house if your inventory space is that precious. You never know if you'll be needing more than one of them in a pinch.

Maybe I'm just crazy like this, but I've memorized 90% of the chart (as applies to my level) with no problem at all. And I'm a MNK, all I do is Fusion and the occasional Impaction or Detonation or something.

Suggestion for all you lazy people out there. Don't go trying to memorize the whole chart, you'll just explode your own head. Start at the Lv.10 skills, then the level 50s, then the 100s, then the 150s, etc etc etc as you level up. Don't look at what's not possible at your level. Do it like that, and by level 60 you'll find that you know almost every chain possible 1-60. Which leaves you time to start working on learning those pesky Level 3 chains.

http://www.adennak.com/renkei09.jpg
Because no other renkei chart has meaning.

The "dumbfuck" you're refering to is one of those fellow melee's you say haven't posted. :)

No no, that better not be how it goes, since Duffman switched to Sam cause he didn't like doing the "SATA dance" as he calls it.

(Sorry for the double post, forgot about this till I posted)

I'll admit I forget to buy silent oils and powders.

YOU mentioned retarded melees who can't bring oils and powders.

I stated: Yes, I forget to bring them.

This is too good....Is your favorite movie "Liar Liar"? How about the "Lie"on King? Hahah god I crack myself up...moving on...

Fact- The only way to know if you are in a "potentially bad party" is to get
to camp and party with them. The reason you would use these items is to get to camp. I seem to forget though that you were blessed with "The Shining" and you can tell by "travelling" with your party that they are "potentially bad"....Who is assuming again?

Fact- Even in this psychic event that you could tell you party was "potentially bad" before you get to camp Last time I checked none of my silent oils had expiration dates on them...you can always keep them in your MH for "mission use" or something that is important to you. Because that's what important, your safety on your quests and missions, they couldn't possibly be used to have a nice smoothe trip to camp for your party, right?

Just because you are higher level then me doesn't give you the right
to be an asshole

Im only level 58...even if I was level 1 I would have the right to knock some sense into this selfish Valkrum attitude every gimp and his brother has nowadays.

Once
again you and most of the posters in here can't read my posts.

Oh I read them quite clearly. Its blatant that you only care about yourself. I may be an elitist asshole, but it's better than being a selfish asshole

So does this post have a point other than you just feel like whining a bit?

Sorry dude, believe me, 90% of the posters here hate me. It's not because Im popular that they are not disagreeing with me. It's because Im right

Good game, Peace out^^

What pisses me off most of all is when they don't bring oils and prisms to quests and missions. Which happens... almost always.

Here's a good one. Cerescole didn't bring silent oil and prism powder to fight the NM for her level 71 final weapon skill. People came out to help her fight her NM and the mages were expected to sneak invis her too.

There was a thief named Daimus who didn't bring any items to the last ( and last ever) time I agreed to help with optical hat. He was going to get his own god damn hat, and he was a level 70+ THF and was too cheap for those items.

I heart Vang... And just a comment Vang.

When your running to camp, and all your members stop dropping like flies, before you even need sneak/invis, or if your in a place with minimum argo. Then you could know if it was a bad party or not...

Just a thought ^^;.
