Now that is more something I can relate to. Add drunk and high into the mix and it sounds like my weekend.

I just happen to find this thread pretty funny because I grew up in a town where the black kids had families that made more money than mine, and came to school thinking they were thugs when they were really raised in a town with more cows than people. That and the fact their school "thug color" was pink. It was quite funny seeing all the black kids who thought they were ghetto show up to school all in the same color thinking they were a gang.

Skimming through the OP I recall a part where you said something along the lines as it being awkward a group of black kids called a white kid the "n word". Let me remind you, the term "n1gg3r" can apply to both sides. While it's a stereotype for black people through ignorance, through the true meaning of the word, a white person can just as easily be one as a black kid, mexican kid, etc. It isn't a word to describe a race, it's a word to describe a type of person.

Not tryin' to justify the little fella for his name calling but I wanted to toss this out there.

Meeze, you have a lot of the white youth - early 20's today pegged on the whole "wanting to be another race" deal. Makes me fuckin' sick when I see a white boy frolicking around tryin' to be what he's not. At least try to be a Mexican... hell, at least they work hard.

Only wetbacks work hard and last i recall 99% of white people in america arent a wetback. Im a white guy and a software engineer, what race does that make me?
 
Sucks that a lot of people seem to view my race in a negative way. I wonder if any of you here have ever noticed how black people try not to take offense to somethings that are said. I know alot of white people are careful what they because they might be labeled a "racist", but has it crossed your mind that black people might have to be careful of how they react because they may seem to be using the "racial card."

I have lived in Texas for a very long time and I have heard thousands of racial jokes and sooner or later it can get to you. One of my best friends made some joke about us needing to stock the fridge full of watermelon once we moved in together and it pissed me off. He then told be that I wasn't offend because I hear stuff like that all the time and don't get upset....

The same friend would also make jokes about me being "proper" and "white" because I don't live up to stereotypes.

I know that I try really hard to understand how it is from the otherside but it seems like thats not appreciated.

Your own people made up "trying to be white", go yell at them. I see it as trying to be a normal person in america. I dont walk around like some idiot mexican with my dickies all creased, and I don't talk like I'm from east LA.

Just look at unsuccesful people, any race, they all talk like idiots, ni99ers, wetbacks, spics, trailer trash. The distinction in how you act/talk is a class one, not a racial one.

Black people always think they are the only poor people, and include mexicans from time to time. They never recognize the fact that whites are just as poor, or even poorer

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think. If I see a white kid dressing and acting like a "thug", he's a damn wigger, and I despise his kind.
Most people think I'm racist, and to an extent I guess I am. The way I always put it to people is, I fuckin hate ******s and spics and wops, etc. I don't mind black people or mexicans or Italians. It's not the color of the skin that bothers me, it's the way they act.
EDIT: Another example to further reiterate my point - Burne is cool, he doesn't bother me(other than being a little too sensitive about what his friends say) even though he's black. Yaboy yusuke or w/e that dudes name was, him I wanna stab in the fuckin face and send him and his aids back to Africa.

Yes I know, just talking in general about the "Trying to be" subject. I have heard that from more white friends than minority friends. Its still pretty stupid.

I am not really worried about it, more worried about the people using the terms. It makes no sense that I should try to "Dumb down" myself to try to be considered "black" by some idiot who doesn't know shit and 9 times out of 10 this person knows very little about black history. I don't know maybe its because its my race that it bothers me more if that makes sense. As much as there are some that break the cycle there are those who just want to stay the same and it makes me sad.

I always looked at myself as a human, then a male, and last being a black male. I don't know if that really makes sense but thats the way I have always viewed people.

Which reminds me of another point I had while talking about Vick...why the fuck do blacks feel every black person makes them look bad/good?

I don't see whites feeling guilty of having rednecks, why do blacks feel bad about ni99ers?

I think the main reason is sterotypes set by blacks and whites. For a long time, Black people have been thought of as limited potential,besides physical, compared to every race. Even though its false, the thought still lingers in peoples minds.

A good example of this is how black people were thought as not being smart enough to coach football teams and that no black kid could be smart enough to be a QB. Obviously you can see why some black people think he embarrassed our race.

I think its a little silly to get pissed about someone doing something and relating it to what race they are. Although, at the same time I can see it as them not wanting people to view Black people as a whole like unintelligent people.

Kind of like Black QB = Vick


Edit: Its is messed up that any race would want a racial ambassador or something.

No, I don't view myself as a stereotype and my problem is how alot of people say black people as a whole are this way when its an actual subculture(like I said in one of my first posts). The problem I have is how others who don't know any better might get stuck in the mindset that they are a "Ni99er" and there going to be nothing more because of how they were raised. Same thing could be said for any race.

Sorry I used your post as example. It wasn't supposed to be taking on anything as just as a broad example. I wasn't trying to slam you its when what you said is used in the wrong context. This is just one of my views from growing up and living in the same area as you. I don't see how im using the racial card when it has something directly to do with a racial issue. n alot of people few my race, as in all of my race, in a negative way because of a subculture. I have had problems in the workplace because of my race and I have been "overlooked" more on my work because of it. The only way that problem was solved was by busting my ass. I could go more into detail but I would rather not.

In a way your proving my point as how sometimes how I have to be careful how I have to react otherwise I will be viewed as using the racial card. I dont think i was but I apologize for that. Maybe the problem is that I care to much about how people treat each other.
