Just a comment on American communism. If we redistributed wealth evenly in America, each person (including babies) would get about 40k/year in the equal share method. That's far more than most families currently make. Sounds fair to me, but I enjoy my position in capitalism.

And nobody would have any reason to work any harder, since any gains from their efforts would be spread among millions of other people. The system would fall into stagnation, productivity would drop to ridiculous levels, etc etc etc.

It disturbs me at times how many self-professed communists have never actually read Marx.

Thus why I said that I enjoy my place in capitalism. Reaping benefits rocks. Even if I disagree with how the government handles it, Capitalism is a million times better than Communism. The only Communist society that I would be all for would be like that of Plato's The Republic. And even that has the utopian's standard that no world could hold to.

It is misleading but you have to consider that the idea of a republic was very different in ancient Greece than it is in our times. Plato wants to outlaw the arts since he feels they can corrupt and mislead the youth. People are essentially born into their positions based upon their pedigree (see: Theory of the Three Metals). Only the "guardians" (ruling elite) are allowed to the know the truth of all things and use lies and manipulation to keep the lower classes in check. People are only allowed one profession since Plato argues that a person can only be good at one thing, whatever it may be. There is virtually no mechanism for upward social mobility. Dissenters are exiled or put to death for the "health and well being of the state." Sounds a little bit like 1930s Germany doesn't it?

Basically when I think about the word Utopia, I consider two stories: Logan's Run and the Giver. Both are pretty much the world according to "The Republic". The ideal itself lacks but there are many facets of it that would be great to put toward modern use. But as Kage said, this derail is fail.

First off, I never claimed to be a hacker, cracker, phreaker, script kiddie or anything else for that matter. HaxXxoR was not a username I picked. The users of FFXiHacked.com picked it for me. That is the only reason I use it. I did use BSFTW first and I’m probably better known for that… although you probably still have never heard of me.
I never created anything except for a community where others could congregate. I never designed or created anything for ffxi. I PROVIDED hacking tools to the players.
I do have some programmers that signed on with us that did develop some tools and crack some others. I created FFXiHacked because I wanted to hack the game, I wanted to use the tools, I wanted to get the upper hand. I didn’t like that certain websites were selling their tools… so we stole them, cracked them, and provided them for free. Hell, we even managed to get some of the major contributors from the other major hacking sites (TaultUnleashed, Windower, FFXiApp) to join us as insiders. If we needed the newest version, they would get it for us.
I was a complete and total dumbass. I wish I’d never done it. Maybe you didn’t see the effects on your server… or maybe you just didn’t notice because you haven’t a clue what these tools do.. (and to the idiot that said to change your level to 255… well, you’re an idiot)
I still love ffxi. I don’t play because I actually have a real life and a family and I can’t devote my time to trying to get around the RMT or the legitimate players to do the things I want anymore. If I had time and no life, I would probably still play.
Oh, and regardless of what you feel about ffxi, you have to admit that se does suck…. check out the BBB profile.
Instead of continuing to flame me over on your site, how about posting your thoughts right here where i can respond to them individually.
I don’t claim to have singlehandedly done anything for the game. I may have started something…. but I doubt that as well. I think I just contributed a little more than I should and things got a little out of hand.
