It sucks. Its almost six in the moarning and i can't sleep. Went to te doctor, that didn't help anything. Now all i do is sit in front of my computer downloading music. Then when the clock hits 7 i get ready for class, pretending i slept like a baby.

Any suggestions.

You might have some stress bugging you. I know it's the main reason for me and my insomnia. /sigh

No clue what to do for you, but I'm still up because of my new job schedule, work overnights Sunday thru Thursday, 10:30 pm to 7 am est, although I just started Tuesday, still already used to it, just can't sleep when I'm not working that night lol.

Gonna be a bitch tomorrow night too... *sigh*, least I know I can sleep during the day fine, although I have limbus in 4 hours, so won't be sleeping til after that >>

I almost never sleep, it sucks. :/

I suffered the same problem for the last 2-3 weeks. It got to the point where I was staying up till 9-10 a.m. and then sleeping till 4 in the afternoon. I'd agree that its most likely stress related, since I resolved some RL problems lately and have slept alot better over the last few days. I also stayed up for 36 hours straight to get myself back on a normal midnight-8 a.m. sleep schedule, which makes me feel like less of a piece of shit for sleeping half of my day away.

Stress is a whole other bag of issues. Try to minimize it if you can't get rid of all of it. Its much more serious than it seems sometimes. Whether its school or work or relationships or whatever, it can all be solved by taking some time for yourself, maybe treating yourself to something nice, and coming to grips with the fact that somewhere, someone is much worse off. It could always be worse no matter what your issues are.

i find that whenever i dont sleep it's because of stress or drama or whatever could be plauging my life at the current moment, as funny or stupid or even chilish as this seems i like to "daydream" so to speak to help me fall asleep, like imgaine a story in your head about whatever it helps not to think about things that are bothering you

Yeah daydreaming helps keep your mind off of stress. I do that a lot myself. Sometimes it helps me sleep and sometimes it doesn't. I say just stay up until your body finally crashes. Even if you go 48+ hours without sleep. Just keep going until your body finally just gives out lol. I'm not an expert on insomnia so that is about the best advice I can give ya.

that's just fucking creepy, Trippy

I have a lot of trouble sleeping, a few things I've found that help are:

1) Sleepytime tea. Yes, it's actually called that. It doesn't knock you out like Nyquil might, but it makes you drowsy and that's sometimes enough. I suppose prescription sleep aids would do the trick better, but that costs a bit more money and personally, I fucking hate taking pills.

2) Regular exercise. As a nice bonus, it can help with stress.

3) Actually trying to sleep. It sounds obvious, but I noticed that some of my friends that can't sleep will sit up in a bright room and have the stereo/tv/computer on. At least for me, it's a lot easier to finally fall asleep when you're lying in bed with one light and a book, not sitting up with all the lights on and the tv blaring.

Clonidine has worked wonders for me. And some music to focus on, otherwise my mind wanders.

Not everyone has access to Control IV meds =p.

Try avoiding using the computer an hour before sleep. Instead, hook up an MP3 player and listen to Jack Johnson. Its very soothing and you'll be asleep in no time.

You have to expose yourself to exercise or some event that require hard work. You will sleep like a LOG then. ^^

Gonna smack this in Reality.

Hit yourself real hard on the head, preferably with some hard object like a baseball bat. That'll leave you sleeping.

I typically sleep better with some white noise going on in the background such as setting my t.v. to sleep timer and pass out. I never really had to drink for me to pass out and have had some stressful times. Everyone has stress just depends on how you handle it so that it does not screw with your sleep. Good luck.

Must have some nice nurses their Myrrh ;)

What I did when I had a small case of insomnia back in January last year was to just stay up as long as I could then crash at my normal bed time. It's best to have someone there with you to make sure you don't fall asleep at like 6.

This might also be a good chance to get taken advantage of by a certain friend. ;)

I agree with Myrrh, I had Insomnia off and on for a long time. I couldn't figure out what was causing it, and realized that everytime I couldn't sleep, I was stressed to the max. You said you had recently quit smoking pot, so the stress may have been there a while and now you're feeling the full effect of it since you're not smoking anymore. Try getting some exercise and talking with someone about what's on your mind, it worked for me.
