Level your #*($@#($& subjobs!

Lecan when the hell did you get a Hauby?!?!?!? You didnt even tell me. Now I have to step it up again to stay ahead of you heh.

Damn it, find this out right after I throw my Bomb Core also, shit.

PSSSHHHHHTTTTTT

When WHM hit 30 I couldnt stand it anymore, and it got noticable after blm hit 64 back in the day. So what was the next logical thing todo? SUB BRD! :)

Blm/Brd, those were the good ole days

Nice thread Celvantes. Let's just hope people heed it. vbmenu_register("postmenu_271058", true);

I have no clue what that end stuff is there lol. Damn FB, can't edit.

rng 65/ nin 12 skill comes into it as well. 3-4 agi really isnt going to help a taru rng out that much. that most i would get and 74 is NI. I didnt pull that much hate... meh is just a new school of players i guess.

hmmm i suppose i shouldn't mention my smn sj i bring to kirin, because then i'd pwn myself >.>;

I agree with the OP though. It's nice to have people you can depend on to be able to do what's needed. lol, i think i'm going to spam aerial armor on the tanks again next week, just so we can hit 41 minutes Kirin again :)

The game's set up so people DON'T have underleveled subjobs. They make it so you have to level one job to Lv18 to get the sub, then you can get another job to Lv36, which is almost high enough to sub right 'til Lv75. That's why when I helped my friend start out, I made sure she went MNK=19, WAR=39, then whatever other job to 75. She's leveling NIN to make sure she can sub for THF, which she's now deciding to do lol.
There are three jobs that everyone always subs: WAR, NIN, and WHM. If you have those three leveled to Lv39, you'll never have to level a subjob again. In which case, I salute you :D

why 39?

perhaps for CoP level capped missions.

Wouldn't that be 40? =P
And Blabj - Erase is 32.

And yes, this is a dead horse that was happily forgotten. ;.; I needto level /WAR some more..

What level is your war ish?

That new school of player, they're called "gimps". How much do people pay for 3-4 agi again? What about the HP? STR? DEX for crits? (Is dex the determining crit ability for ranaged?)

You don't pull hate that much? You must have great gear. The RNG I party with every day pulls hate every fight. Every slug shot pulls hate. Most barrages pull hate. You and your underleveled subjob are leet.

The point is, if you're cheap and lazy enough to gimp yourself by not doing something as easy as leveling a sub, then you're probably going to gimp yourself in other areas too. Gear, food, *skill*. Afterall, leveling a sub is free minus the cost of food and nin tools.

ahem, i see your brd is only 60 something, you dont know me so you sir must be leet.

my rng is 75 my nin is 37.
This is before pre patch almost 1yr and 6 months ago..
Reality another founder of the JOB ranger and I used to PT frequently...
How many people do you know that sub nin for STR?
3 shadows is enough to get hate pulled off of you, if you need more than three shadows then
1. your tanks sucks
2. your doing too much dmg at once
3. you havent learned your lesson from dying all the times you would have before.
Agi now doesnt play that much of a big role as a 75 taru rng..
with all my agi equipment on, standing 5.5 charecters from the mob using a Hellfire.. i still do.. 500-800 dmg.. and miss more than hit.
my nin sub gives me about 75 hp. to me, 75hp isnt going to help you if you have a tank who is not going to be able to take hate from you, and your getting hit for.. 250 crits and 150 reg. not including if you did one of those moves you probably gave it some TP.. lets take sickle slash for example, you'll die, IMO.
i use yellow curry sushi ambrosia,
before it was all +1 foods.. because its not that hard to walk to the AH and buy food :| even if i was lazy.
I believe i have the second best possible equipment for rng in the game.. only because i didnt get sea when i had the chance.. deathchild IMO has a better set..

to get back on topic and not to hijack the thread, Yes its important to have a fully leveled sub for these reasons.

spells you might miss out on, accuracy bonuses, MP HP, and to put at ease the minds of people who have enough skill to cover the shitty sub.

Subjobs are great because they help your main job out bigtime. They give you stat boosts, job abilities, job traits, sometimes weapon skills.
Like I previously stated, WAR, NIN, and WHM are the three most often used subjobs in the game.
With WAR, you get double attack, strength boosts, defence boosts, wicked job abilities, etc. Thus, this is good for most all damage dealers.
With NIN, you get dual wield, agility boosts, vitality boosts, Utsusemi, Tonko, and Stealth, etc. This is amazing for RNG and THF in every way.
With WHM, you get wicked cures (amazing on it's own), and MP, Auto-Regen, Clear Mind, etc. Subbing WHM gets you good parties because if you need to sub-heal, you can. If you need to Raise, you can.

Lol well even tho 99% of the time i have my sub lvled, the times i dont i do it for a reason.

Im lazy

Usually if i need a sub for a job i get it just high enough that people will inv me and take it just as far as i need it to go.

Ex: Im lvling my war and thf to sub for my sam but my ass is way to lazy to lvl my nin sub past 15.

I wish to only take thoes 2 jobs to 37 and the inv's havent slowd down in the least. Also i just made pt's half the time so it wasnt an issue, im sry if you hate me for this but there are somethings that are just not that important.

Brought war from 33-37 in 2 days with a 15 subed war, All i did was do my job right and no one ever had a problem with me.

Anyway i just wanted to kinda cover my own ass here and if in your situation, i would completely agree with you, i hate underlvled sub people.

Guess im a hypocrit if you wanna see it that way, but there are some times acceptable extenuating sercumstances that make it reasonable.

Oh and if you dont like it, dont inv me. simple as that ^^

A friend on my LS has gotten WAR to Lv30 without a subjob, then is leveling RNG at Lv10. She's been LFG for like a week and is complaining about no parties. I keep offering my help to get her a subjob, but she keeps saying that her character doesn't want one.
I guess really, if you don't want a subjob or you don't wanna level it and you get a party, good for you. If you don't get parties and complain, then just level your damn subjob lol

not every sub has to be fully levelled to be effective.

i'm not going to exp my rng to 37 just so i can find a skillup party for archery.
i'm not going to exp my smn to 37 just so i can have a few more mp, i already have all the BPs i need for gods.

as long as a gimped sub doesn't affect things too much, i can deal with it. melee need their damage; for example i couldn't really justify inviting a 60+ melee whose only sub is THF without TA. I'd get better exp if i waited for someone else to seek.

/WHM is okay; but who says you have to have it capped either? i've seen DRG/WHM main heal in parties, even with /WHM gimped 15 levels or so.

/NIN the important levels are well... important to sub too. Utsusemi 2 is too helpful when you can get it. However, it's not like i'd turn down a THF30/NIN12 because his nin is 3 levels gimp. He'd merely be the last i'd choose.

It's true that someone without a capped sub is someone i'd invite more reluctantly. If they can't exp their sub to more functional levels, then can we expect good gear and/or skill? most likely not.

speaking of bono.. hes a 75 blm no sub, and a 50 something beast.. beast with no sub.. wow.
