Just have some mediocre gear, and am wanting to get some new equipment, but cant really decide. I only have 870k to my name.

My priority equipment Im looking at right now are:

Flame Ring x2 (400k each)

Sniper's Ring x2 (400k each) <-- Doubt I even want these, wont be of much use to me

Pallas's Bracelets (140-160k) (cant afford Alky, am trying to camp for em)

Amemet Mantle +1 (280-300k)

Potent Belt (am doing assault for this)

Rutter Sabatons (Not really sure if I should waste time to get these)

Vermillion Cloak (1.4m-ish)

The gear I have (not puting in hmp gear)

Martial Anelace
Ifrit's Blade
Acherons Shield (Tatami a little too expensive for me to get atm)
Walahra Turban
Chivalrous Chain
Merman's Earring x2
Magus Jubbah
Enkelados's Bracelets
Ruby Ring x2
Amemet Mantle
Warwolf Belt
Jet Seraweels
Heroic Boots

Im probably missing a few things on the 'want list,' But I think I covered most of it. I wanna have some gil leftover so that I can handle every day purchases that Ill need to make, like food, med's, transport and etc.

Should I just get Bomb Core and Pallas's Bracelets, and save the rest?

Edit: Made a small mistake, BLU cant use bomb core or bomblet

Bomb Core, Pallas, Amemet+1. These will benefit your blu but more importantly your drk.

I agree, get these 3 and build up from there. Items that will benefit other jobs as well is also a plus.

Tarasque Mittens worth replacing the Pallas Bracelets with? Or still stick with pallas?

also depending on your rank maybe perdu hanger

best thing about this is its free

I am saving up for Perdu hanger and ranking at the same time. Kinda crazy because my BLU is only 58.

What are you wanting this gear for? Meleeing? If so, you want AM+1 and you really should get acc rings. Flame Rings are really unnecessary until you are optimizing gear and until you are breaking like 90%+ accuracy you want acc rings. TPing in str rings is kinda silly with an exception for Raja's since store tp and stuff can be helpful in getting to 100% tp faster.

So in order for you, I'd suggest (taking drk and blu into account): AM+1 -> 2 acc rings. TBH Pallas are kinda meh to me, but that's my personal opinion. Depends on what you are doing really, but taking a big hit to DEX especially on multi-hit wses generally isn't a good thing to do. You do sky right? Save your gil up and wait until you can get n.hands for drk and just don't worry about blu (unless there's some spell affected by str? I dunno really lol). Until then, Tarasque(+1) or Dusk are a much more useful anyway for tping in.

coming from the noob blu that i am, most blu attack spells do benefit from str, some from str+dex.

If str+dex are both modifiers, it would be a lot better imho to pick up hume rse hands then, str+3 dex+3. That gets you +6 modifiers vs +4 from pallas (str+9 dex-5). I dunno about how blu spells really work, but in general unless you are SA(TA)ing a WS you really don't want to macro on a bunch of -dex for your stuff.

Try to get full Yigit set if you can instead of a Vermy, if you never end up getting enough gil for that. Um.. other than that, I think you already know what you need to get from your wants.

Accuracy really isnt a large issue with BLU, it appears. At least not from my standpoint. Mixing Dimensional Death and Frenetic Rip gives Accuracy Bonus, which is +10 I believe.

There are only ever a few things I have difficulty landing hits on, those are THF mamool ja, BLM qutrub, which I dont really understand, and sometimes NIN mamool. Everything else, I can get tp to use with Chain Affinity, get tp again to WS, then be a fourth, or halfway to having 100% tp again for another CA

The spell modifiers I believe are only active during CA, though. Could be very wrong on this since I have received higher damage potential with more STR, but could just be coincidence

There's a difference between seeming to have good accuracy and actually having it. Lemme do a quick once-over of your gear... +5 acc is all I count. That's.. not enough, lol, even with sushi. Unless you forgot to list something, I can't imagine your accuracy being that hot.

I say get the snipers personally. Get the bomb core too since it's a huge atk boost for the lowest gil possible.
Flame rings are gonna cost you 800k for +2 str which quite frankly isnt the smartest descision to make until you have almost all your other gear maxed.

BLM qutrub have something evasive as their second job or their sub or something. Basically they nuke like a BLM and dodge like a THF (or perhaps NIN) and are all-around obnoxious. The DRK qutrub aren't very annoying, in comparison (less threatening spells and no ridiculous evasion).

Regarding the STR/DEX thing, bear in mind that due to the way WS (and physical blue magic) calculations work, you can assume *everything* to have an extra STR_25% (or so) modifier on top of what it already has, due to, uh, I think it's called fSTR? Anyway.

Factor in some big spike damage blue magic spells that have beefy STR modifiers (like 50% or 60%) and no DEX modifiers aside from wanting to land it period, and gigas bracelets are awesome for those. Particularly as BLU/THF when adding SA, since then you don't even have to worry about -DEX impacting your accuracy the way you do with multi-hitters and/or non-SA'd spells.

They're still good - not quite as good, but good - for things that have both STR and DEX modifiers (or just DEX modifiers, but remember that 25% STR that goes with everything), but a reasonable substitute in such a case would be the aforementioned hume RSE, which has *positive* DEX to go along with the (admittedly smaller) positive STR. Spells like this are usually the multi-hitters that you see more from BLU/NIN (since the one-hit spike damage ones aren't as impressive without /THF).
