Yeah Turned based. Here are a few that came out the last year. Blue Dragon (terrible), Wild Arms 5, Persona 3 (awesome), Enchanted Arms (so-so, came out 06)

I would totally gloat if I had this game. I don't even have the console it's played on... ; ; Glad to hear it's living up to my hype though.

Yep.. I check out the 360 vid perview.. looks sick, RPG's will always be my favorite..
 
Just to warn you, be really careful with this package until you get home. For some reason, the package has discs 1-3 all piled on top of each other then disc 4 in a white sleeve thing clamped by the instruction manual. My disc 1 wasn't even on the little spindle when I opened the package, it was just flying around randomly. You might want to find another case to keep this game in because this one's horrible. :/ I'll start playing in a bit and give some first impressions, need to eat lunch.
 
Ok! My first impression after playing it for 5+ hours.

So far the cinematography has been outstanding! I've been waiting for this since FFX and it seems like this game builds on what happened in that game, but brings it to a whole new level with great acting, visuals, music and more!

Kaim is the first badass turn based rpg main character I've seen in years! I've been waiting for a guy who didnt have the super emo look!

The 1000 Years of Dreams almost make this game worth buying if for nothing else. I'm a grown man, but damn those are seriously so well written, I'm saddened by them, and those seriously make you feel for the main character! I'm officially attached to him, which is great since most games lately leave you feeling "i could care less".

Talk to everyone! You don't wont to miss one of these. I've opened 5 so far, they are long reads, but worth it. They have great music in the background, with beautiful paintings to illustrate the stories.

Pretty much agree with all of that. The 1000 Years of Dreams are really well-written, touching stories that build an immediate like of the character. The fights are pretty fun so far and the bosses are challenging enough to where the fights are interesting without being TOO hard. Digging it so far.
 
I had alot of trouble with the first boss, because he kept spamming his 250+ damage move anytime i tried to do something, but i finally beat it after just having my front line defend and casting spells with my one backline guy.

Really good game, and as already said the 1000 years of dreams are done really really well.

Yeah the bosses are tough, wait till the 2nd BOSS!!!!

The trick to that first one is, to just have Jansen cast Flare while the other 2 just pretty much cure lol.
 
Stone > Flare, i also didn't have any trouble with the second boss once i figured out how bomb prism is.

My only complaint is what was really good about this game.

The dreams are still well written, but jesus christ, i'd like to be able to turn a corner and not unlock another dream.
 
Thinking about picking this up.. >< I have sooo many games to finish lol.

Thanks for posting your impressions. Its made me want to go play this now.

Well flare works better against Wind creatures. This game goes like fire>wind>earth>water>fire and so on.

Also, the dreams do slow down lol.
 
Really? My ground was doing better than my flare, and my Kaim with ground enhancement was doing more damage with fire ring. Eh, probably just a weird boss.

The other major + of this game that i forgot to mention is the ambient music. Just running around towns the music reminds me of the FF7 score in towns.

It makes me so nostalgic.

Ah that is strange! Yeah the music in this game is great, and I love the battle music. This game is pure win.
 
I'm finding myself skipping 1000 Years of Dreams sequence as they come up because they seem to come in huge clumps when I'm really in the mood to advance the plot. Then I just watch them all in rapid succession after I finish my gaming session.

The main plot itself outside of the 1000 Years of Dreams is really picking up too. At first I was wondering where exactly they were planning to go with certain things and some of the key points seemed really obvious, but it's still telling the story quite well. I just wish the timing of the Perfects on the ring thing wasn't so wonky, though now that I have some Ultra rings it's a lot easier.

I would buy this game if I had a 360. Sadly, I don't.

Anyone know if they will ever release this game on PS3?
 
No, since Microsoft Game Studios is the publisher, and Mistwalker is on good terms with Microsoft.
